A few things to correct, it was not made for Afghan conflict but is a modernization of PNV-57(A) due to how outdated they were already for the 70's. There is a PNV-57EM which seems to be an actual Gen-2 Device but I have not seen it myself. Still good video tho
@@lukester2070 Someone on a site similar to Ebay (Willhaben.at) had it laying around with the Original Bag, but he wasn't sure if its was working so he sold it for 30€, I used a 12V Bike Battery to try it out and amazingly it was in perfect condition, no black spots on the Intensifier Tube, it was really a great find!
What mounting system would you recommend for the PNV-57s? I'm ok with removing the stock mount and starting over with a completely new one to attach to a helmet (as opposed to the cotton tanker cap it comes with). UPDATE: I rigged them to a rhino mount
I was curious about this to but as long as the transformer gets minimal power, it should up volt to the proper voltage what ever that is. That's what a transformer does if functioning properly. Up volts or down volts to a certain amount. That's what transformers do on telephone poles. They boost the volts lost by resistance over distances. I do have a 12 volt and a 9 volt and will try both.

Use 12v batteries and up, they gain better than a 9v. I use 11.1v lipo and I noticed the improvement over a 9v

They dont requier an external leicht souverän is Not the Same as leicht amplifeier .
The tube manufacturer(Ekran) classifies the tubes as gen0+.

@@Raidenovich The difference between gen1 and gen1+ is just the S20 photocathode vs. S25 photocathode. Gen 0+ uses S25 Photocathode like gen 1+
