Mini Sax is a perfect travel saxophone geared toward beginners and professionals. It is easy to play, portable and affordable. I love this man, he's so passionate about his instrument and he has every right to be because it is a great sounding little thing. I have ordered one and can't wait to get it. All reed instruments demand a certain amount of ability to make a musical sound but once you get the lip pressure correct on the reed and your mouth finds that sweet point on the mouthpiece there's nothing then to hold you back. The warmth and beauty of the sounds you can make on a reed instrument is truly amazing and I'm certain I'm going to enjoy mine when it arrives.

@@MiniSax is the reed already attached to mouth piece?. All I see is a clear plastic piece that holds the reeds.
I almost quit it bacause it's so hard to make a sound (I didn't even know I have to make the reed wet first).
But because of your vdos, I'm just able to play my very first song with minisax! Thank you. ^^

I already noticed the difference of the fingering of this instrument from most wind instruments... they are like one key ahead of the saxophone, clarinet, or flute. For example, usually the first finger hole starts at B and so on... but the mini sax B starts on the thumb, making the first finger hole an A. Yet this is a unique instrument.. Planning to buy one to check it out ^.^

Excellent tuition. I already play keyboard piano and sing. I had a go at clarinet years ago. However, do you suggest I buy one of these before going fir an actual full blown saxophone? I’m self taught at singing playing keyboard and piano. Please visit me here on TH-cam where you’ll see a few videos and hear a few multi track demos I’ve created (covers). You play.VERY nice and that mini sax has a true sax sound.
Thanks for your kind words. Regarding what to purchase, it all depends on your level and budget. Our stainless steel mini sax is great if you want to get your feet wet and try out a reed instrument that is not super expensive and relatively easy to play.

You can play one octave plus overtones.
Can you explain please what the deferent of xaphoon with 8 holes and mini sax with 6 holes?
Sure, xaphoon has 8 holes and therefore a bigger range and a way more complicated fingering. Unfortunately the additional tones (range) are high pitch and sound squeaky. That's why we decided to go with 6 holes, much easier to learn and better sounding.

Franceso, you are not wrong. On all transposing instruments (saxophones, clarinets, flutes , trombones etc.) C is actually Bb. Our mini saxes are the same. There are also some instruments where C is actually Eb, D, F etc. Very rarely C is actually C.

Dear Alex, I'm back again... I have the same problem as before, in one of your other videos. You say you play high C , all holes open but it is actually one tone lower, it is Bb... how can that be ?
Hi Nick, that's because all reed instruments are pitched/sounding one whole tone lower.

Small flutes have crazy fingerings. That's just how it is. I have been learning shakuhachi and shinobue, and there are just crazy fingerings, it's not a piano keyboard here. You just have to learn the fingerings just play scales up and down.

You can clean it with regular dish soap and a small brush for the inside. You can sterilize the reeds with hydrogen peroxide.
