I recently have found your channel and subscribed. You really go into detail about all the products you use. It is also very telling that even though you use almost Hornady products exclusively you would recommend a Dillon press to your viewer. This speaks volumes to me about the honesty on all the products you review. Myself I have been doing as much research as I can before purchasing a progressive press. I still have not made up my mind. Both the lock n load and dillon seem to do what I will need it is a hard decision. Thanks for you videos keep up the good work.

I want to thank you for all the great videos. I started on a rockchucker single stage, moved to an RCBS pro 2000, got a Redding T7 for rifle and just ordered an LNL AP after seriously looking at the Dillon XL650. After much research, looking at what would work for ME, and A LOT based on your videos I went with the LNL. What kept bugging me was all the haters of anything not Dillon ragging on other people that dared not get a Dillon!! Don’t get me wrong I truly believe Dillon makes an awesome press... but anyone that will make a blanket statement without asking or considering an individual’s particular needs... I find their criticism suspect. Anyway, I digress. I sincerely thank you for taking the time to clearly explain the good and the bad of the LNL and how to fix it... and I hope to add a bullet and case feeder in the future. I want to learn the press and it’s quirks and then add more to it. That way I can isolate problems better. Thank you again!!

Just finished watching the complete series. You did an outstanding job! I have not had any experience with the Hornady progressive press, but now I think I could sell them.

Nice video. The original price for the deluxe model may seem high at $200. But many places have it on sale for around $170. Then you get 500 free bullets. That's worth $110+. You could keep the bullets or sell them for $100.
Net price=$70 for the control panel

Great video. You mentioned modifying powder cop to work with rifle. Do you have a video showing this?
    Keep up the great work

I think it’s funny how people used to put up theses Disclaimers. 😂

I enjoyed this very thorough video! I just bought this press and was curious how the sensors worked. Being cheap it seems like I could duplicate this for the fraction of the cost as I have more time than money. It wouldn't be as clean though. Is the whole powder lock die different from the normal powder cop or just an add on? Again, nicely done. I'll watch your other vids now.

can you comment on how to set up the powder safeguard die please at next video? I could not have it set up correctly and the tech at hornady also seems to be puzzled. Thanks.

Hello, I've just finished watching your complete series on the Lnl Ap just now. You did a fantastic job! Thank you very much. I've been reloading for 10 years on a lee classic turret and am ready to upgrade. I'm going to set it up primarily for 223. I'm likely going to purchase the case feeder as well and wait on the bullet feeder until later.
I have a question though... I know I'll need the small rifle plate for the case feeder and the 223 shell plate.
Will I need anything else to get it running? Do you have any recommendations on additional or replacement parts to have on hand?
I'll be using my current dies.
    Thanks!!!

      rulon152 Hi Rulon,
That's great! I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do! You should be set with the shell plate, dies, and rifle plate. Just be sure it comes with enough LNL bushings for your dies, powder measure etc. As far as spare parts, I would pick up a package of the shell plate springs, they come in packs of 3 for under $10. Those seem to get damaged sometimes. Also, the primer slide may come apart (the axle for the little wheel comes out), I have spares, but I found that a tiny drop of Gorilla Glue in the hole will fix it up just fine. Just don't get glue in the wheel mechanism. Hornady will replace em if you call tech support, but I use the glue these days, it's much faster.
I've had mine for almost 20 years, they're built to last. Let me know if there's any other questions I can help with.

How does the powder checker stop the press?

if you pull the cable from the connector and not by the wire you should be fine.

Hi Alexander, Well, obviously I'm a big fan of Hornady and have had nothing but good luck with their products. That being said, my personal opinion is that the Dillon presses are top-notch. If it were me, I'd probably go with a Dillon. I think you'll be happy either way, but at this time, I'm going to recommend Dillon. Thanks for watching! - HL

I just installed my powder checker and noticed that the brass rod is picking up quite a bit of the powder. How are you dealing with that?

has anyone automated the lock n load yet?

    • @hornadyloader7574
      @hornadyloader7574  8 ปีที่แล้ว

+whenboysetsfire1 Not that I'm aware of. I've seen several Dillon systems with automated gear running them. So cool. I'm not sure I trust an automated system though. I like to check on things randomly while I'm loading, powder charges, primer seating, COAL/CBTO, etc., etc., etc...
