Hi. Nice review. I just wanted to point out a few things. 1. The pen you are using is a Dell pen and not a Samsung pen. I think it's better if you can mention in the description of both the sage videos because this can otherwise cause a lot of confusion as they both use different technologies and are incompatible with each other. Samsung pens don't work with sage. One can use any pen that uses MPP protocol on Sage as you have mentioned 2. Regarding the missing pen in the review unit, Kobo seems to have sent you the retail unit which doesn't come with the pen. The pen is an add-on accessory that needs to be purchased separately

This is always very hard to tell, since you will be using backlight intermittently.. which has quite an impact on battery life. So you'd have to test this without backlight. Then there's Bluetooth and Wifi. Those two have impact on battery life as well. I'd recommend switching it off if you don't need it. The device will warn you if wifi is needed anyway. And of course, a lot depends on your reading habits, the way you use the device (note-taking, menu-browsing, etc.). To be honest, I've never had a problem with battery life. I prefer Libra2 but it lacks of Dropbox Support. At this point, it's pretty lame that Kobo is still using Dropbox as a selling point for their higher-end devices. Cloud-based book storage is a common feature for e-readers. it’s annoying as the Kobo Forma/Sage/Elipsa has it but they won’t implement it on the lower end Kobos even though it’s clearly possible. Their business decisions seem incredibly short-sighted.

You will love the Sage its just a little heavier but it is faster, and clearer and the note taking is more then just a gimmick - its usable :)
@@morningcoach 4 grams or 4 ounces (113+ grams)?
thank you for this review. taking notes and highlighting while reading an ebook - will that work with any ebooks (epub) or only with Kobo ebooks (Kepub)?
I'd just get a little felt bag for the Kobo for protection from scratches and call it a day.
Great videos thanks for the demos of the new kobo devices! I was wondering what the web browser is like on the sage with the new processor (is it usable? And what options are there for reviewing news websites) And what pocket looks like on sage (can you find articles in the browser and send to pocket for reading)
I just tired it - they have it as a beta feature - it is OK just tried it. I don’t know if I would use it. It isn’t bad, sort of a really small e-ink browser - kind of cute LOL if that makes sense. WOW found the handwriting to text today, and the browser today - didn’t even know it had them - thanks Greg!
Sorry this is a little late, but I have been trying to find tutorial videos on Overdrive from setting up the device to navigating the interface on different ways to borrow. I haven't decided on purchasing a Kobo just yet, so I am trying to find all of the information that I need before makinga decision. I know you said as of this video Overdrive wasn't working properly, but if you could post a video tutorial I would definitely appreciate that.
Not being able to export notes on an epub to a file is not very good.
Lol thought my uncle would bring over a Kindle 10th gen from UK 🇬🇧 but he didn't 🤦♂️
Not his fault but I said to buy and cancelled immediately 😅
My bad
My budget is 120$ ( excluding shipping and taxes , yes I want to pay since I'm in Asia and not getting directly from amazon )
What would you recommend me
I'll read 50% Manga & Greyscale comics 💭 and other 50% just novels
Paperwhite 5 seems interesting tbh almost same screen size if I can get if for a 90$ during black Friday it would be dope 🔥
No for tablets 😡 since it ruined my eyes 👀
Hi, I got one and love it . The only downside I have found is the battery life. It is underpowered and with heavy use, I have had to recharge every day.
Now I have been loading my library and setting up Pocket Dropbox and Overdrive....yes it is working now.... So that has been a drain.
I will probably get the power case when it comes out.
Thank you for your channel. Love the honest and open reviews.
Have a great week!
You've had to charge it every day?! Oh wow, that's no good!
Is that just reading, or listening to audiobooks?
UPDATE the battery is better now. I have a very large library, and with me loading it and setting up the battery took a hit. The past few days of reading and it is acting like a normal ereader.
Handsome. Does the kobo have finger highlight and export feature?
thank you! really cleared up some questions :)
Thanks for this review! I appreciate the comparison to Remarkable 2, which I was thinking about prior to their recent announcement about a subscription plan. Given that I use a standard notebook (Blueline NotePro) I think you might have answered my question for notetaking! Thank you!
what about the BATTERY LIFE of kobo sage ?????
Hi JB I hope you might be able to help me I have been a member of Kobo now for a few years on my smart phone and have amassed over 100 E-books in my archive which I can't seem to access from my new Kobo Libra 2 Any hint as to what to try or is it because Overdrive is down and if so WHEN are KOBO gonna get off their arse and FIX it Pulling my hair out don't want to loose a cherished library or hundreds of pounds investment
Hi, thank you so much for this energetic review. The dropbox integration now is insane. I'm a Forma user myself, and I read a lot of comics in there. Can you please test the stylus over a cbr or a cbz file? I wanna know if I can take notes on my comics in the Sage.
Thanks for the suggestion will get on that!
Good info thanks
can the libra 2 also use dropbox?
No
Are you related to Bob Odenkirk?
HAHAHAH I hope he is my uncle - I could use an inheritance HAHHAHAH
@@morningcoach haha, it's just that you sound a lot like him to me. Maybe you should do a DNA test - you never know!
Love your videos as always JP... Any chance you can put metric measurements on the screen/call them out for us non-americans for future videos
Yes for sure thank you
why is tony hawk talking about ebooks?
HahahhahHHHHH
Is it just me, but I thought it looked sluggish. Hope I am wrong.
how is this a review of the libra 2 it was berly in 2min of video.
Great review.
You look and sound like Saul Goodman.
thats right! 😂
Ounces 🙄
Lol, ounces. Have you ever heard of grams?
