  • The Matterhorn has been attracting mountaineers for 150 years. But reaching the summit can be fatal. More climbers have died on the Matterhorn than on Mount Everest. Air Zermatt is on call every day, rescuing climbers in trouble.

This is a very gripping series on Netflix, I think it only ran for one season. Very well done by Red Bull.

The helicopter shown landing with the rescued climber is not the same model as the one that rescued him. He was rescued with an AS 350 and dropped off by a EC 135 .

You just learned about editing. They have a story and they find the images that fit. Now apply this to the news. Scary stuff.
This means they are making the story not telling it.

Wrong. They flew a Bell 429 for the rescue. What you saw landing before he was dropped of was a EC130.

That's because it's cut from a Swiss series that shows the rescue operation of the whole day, in great detail and with explanations that are missing here. It's not uncommon to change helicopter in between, often to get the hanging person inside after getting the helicopter to a location it can land near by or to switch helicopters half way to get to another rescue...

They're now using newer helicopter models for rescue work over the old tried and true Lama, I wonder if the newer models actually perform better at altitude, or has the Lama just reached the end of its service life.

Lama's aren't a rescue-focused platform but are still being used by plenty of operators on jobs where it's all about power to weight.

AirZermatt is a private company who needs sponsors to be able to survive.
