- Hey guys! I’m back with another tour of one of the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s many residence halls. I’ve been a Resident Assistant (RA) here for two years and I can’t help but brag about this building any change I get. This building is designated for upperclassmen only (sophomores and up) and comes with many great features. Don’t hesitate to leave a comment if you have an questions!
so happy to finally see an in depth tour!!
This video is SO helpful! Thank you so much !!!
This video helped so much! Quick question, are the beds for Blount Hall 2 TwinXL beds?
yes! all the beds in Blount are twin XL!
Also, are you still an RA here cause I just got Blount and it be nice to see a familiar face! Or have you graduated?
Sadly, no! I miss my time as a RA for Blount Hall! I graduated in 2022; I'm a nurse at UAB now :)
@@datreaunadye9320 wow that’s great! I’m thinking about changing my major to healthcare management!
Hey there, what are the chances of transferring juniors getting this hall instead of Rast Hall?
I'm not 100% about how room assignments work, but I'd say make "Blount Hall 2-bedroom" and "Blount Hall 4-bedroom" your top choices to increase your chances. I hope this helps!
I remember
So on the 2 bedroom one is it only for the 2 people residing there or do u have to share it with more people ?
Yes! There's one person to each bedroom. The two-bedrooms will have two residents and the four will have four residents. Does that answer your question?
Is the 2 bedroom more than the 4?
Yes! I can't pinpoint by how much because the pricing varies each academic year, but the 2-bedroom suites do cost more than the 4-bedroom suites.
Is that little white thing in the kitchen the microwave?
yes! it is!
Question: does each bedroom have heating/cooling for two person AND four person??
Yes! Each suite (two-bedroom and four-bedroom) has heating and cooling that is controlled in the common area. Each bedroom doesn't have an individual thermostat, but each *suite* does, so you'll still have to have conversations with your suitemates about temperature settings! I hope that makes sense!
@@datreaunadye9320 yes I understand. Thanks! Also, what do you think the likelihood is that I will get Blount hall if I submitted the application the day it opened up?
@@civduh1802 I'm not 100% sure, but completing the application as soon as possible, which is seems you have, may increase your odds.
@@civduh1802 it’s pretty likely! I submitted about halfway through the period upperclassman dorms apps were open and put both Blount options as my top two and managed to get it
Do the windows in Blount 4 person open??
It depends! Many of them are able to be cracked open, but not fully. This is a safety mechanism UAB has to protect those on the upper floors!
How hard was it for you to get Blount hall?
I'm not sure, actually! I've been here for three years, but I'm an RA so I was assigned to Blount. I would just say as soon as early registration for housing opens, fill it out and pay the fee to TRY to get your first choice!
