That dash on RS is just awsome looking. I would like to have analog dash like that and not just boring digital instruments. I was born before 90's so maybe that is the reason.
I love the dash on my Z900RS SE! It's funny how with all these TFT's showing up on bikes and other style screens in cars, how much we appreciate the classic style and functionality that these gauges give.
No that was brownish with red in the middle. This one is one of the 3 colors for the updated 2024 model replacing the Greenish one. The other two have no gold rims.
Zed is said in more civilised parts of the world…. We also drove on the correct side of the road 😉

If I may, I would put one more thing. The dashboard or TFT screeen moves when you are turning. Ninja and others's dashboard remains cantered. What makes my choice. I love the z650's dashboard is not ramins still when I am turning, cornering
I'm biased because I bought the Z900RS but I've owned a Versys 650 in the past which has the same engine as the Z650 RS. They're both great bikes. It just depends on which one is best for you.
Nice to see these newer 650 motorcycles compared. Great review, they look great. Thanks! I do prefer a larger fuel tank when possible for longer range. My Ninja 650 4.0 gallon tank can go 200 miles safely most times with 15 miles to spare from a full tank before empty with regular riding.
Yeah, the 12 litre tank on the one bike is the minimum that I'd want, but it might be perfect for most riders of this bike. Big tanks up high can make bikes feel top heavy too, so full or empty, this bike may not have as big of a change on how it feels as far as higher centre of gravity.
These are tuned essentially (or probably exactly) the same. The Z900 and Z900RS have different tuning, and different 1st and 6th gear ratios, different flywheels etc. There are mechanical differences in the 900s that aren't different in the 650's. Great question!
Having spent time working with this dealership for about a year, and with more time on TH-cam, I think even Kawasaki knows that green is only going to sell to a limited audience, and they need to diversify their colours to sell even more bikes. I've owned 3 Kawasaki's, and I like the green, but none of them have been green.
Yeah I hear the green thing and agree but I’m ok with it as lots of GPZ from the 1980 were a red/black combo . So I look at it as dirt bikes green , road bikes red . Hope the Z is going well , ride safe 😃
I think the z650rs is the best looking retro style bike coming out of Japan. Triumph and Royal Enfield definitely have better looking bikes but I think the z650rs and z900rs are the best blend of retro and modern. If I was in the market the question for me would be do I want the 900 or the 650.
For the RS I have just ordered the Kawasaki panniers for mine. It has different mounting rack thingy. That’s from Kawasaki Australia. Also on the freeways the RS is easy for me to tuck so I am not so much of a sail.
Good job. Honda makes you pay more for looks too on the trail 125, monkey 125 and super cub 125. And if they bring the Dax 125 to the USA I’ll pay more for the look too lol.
Kawasaki's own information doesn't show that. Same 10.8:1 compression ratio on the same engine. There are minor tweaks to fit the powertrain into different bikes, but it's absolutely the same engine etc.
@@PeterLoweOne I dont know where you got that information, i got it at the kawasaki dealer. I had a versys and my wife has a z650rs. A quick search online and you will see that even the torque, horsepower and the cc are not exactly the same.

Analog good. Digital bad. I'm a boomer and still like analog quality .
OMG !!!! You were so good with the review and the best I’ve seen , I still can’t decide 😅 you sold me both bikes !!! 😅
Haha! Thanks for watching! All the best to you in your shopping!
This is how you review bikes...earned my sub
Awesome! Thanks so much!
I’m digging that red RS with gold rims. Wasn’t that the special edition colour they had for the 50th anniversary edition?
No that was brownish with red in the middle. This one is one of the 3 colors for the updated 2024 model replacing the Greenish one. The other two have no gold rims.
I love the green rs with the gold rims is great
I hope there’s an 4/1 episode explaining the comparisons between the Zed and Zee Kawasaki lines
What other than Americans say Zee and the rest of the English speaking world pronouns it Zed? 🤔
Primary school english, pronounced zed normally, but zee if followed by an e , Zeebrugge or New Zealand.

Great review ! Which RS would be the most retro and keeper ?

Zed is the right way to pronounce z only dumb Americans say zee
Thanks for this video! Great comparison. Really useful information!
What’s the 24 rs model got that the 22-23 rs ‘’ s doesn’t ?
The 24 model has traction control and different colour options
A great video. My RS is being delivered today!
Just subscribed to your channel.
Oh and its definitely Zed ✌🏻😎🇬🇧
Hahaha! Enjoy! Thanks for subscribing.
How are these 2 bikes tuned?? I know the ninja and vulcan s are tuned differently.
They'd be similar or identical to the Ninja.
Really it was awesome review thanks
Thanks for watching!
Is the RS tuned for more mid range over top end as opposed to the Z650 or is that just the 900's?
These are tuned essentially (or probably exactly) the same. The Z900 and Z900RS have different tuning, and different 1st and 6th gear ratios, different flywheels etc. There are mechanical differences in the 900s that aren't different in the 650's.

Sure glad I got the 23 Z 650 with the green frame those aren’t Kawasaki colors 😮
Kawasaki Green makes me want to gouge my eyes out

Never liked kawasaki green, that was the handsdown on 23 rs for me, seriously thinking on getting this one
Essa Naked Stretfigtter deveria ter suspensão up side Don! 🇧🇷 tenho A Z650RS na cor cinza 2023!
Estou sonhando com uma também!
I've been dreaming of one as well...
Does Canada get different colors than the US?
Sometimes. Yes.
@@PeterLoweOne I was curious as I work at a dealer in the States.. I am very envious of the Red RS. We have the all black/grey available to us 🫠
like to see compareison with the triumph tiger sport 660
The Kawasaki web site shows the 2024 Z650rs in a black and grey pewter color only. Where does this red color come from?
I film in Canada. www.kawasaki.ca
Also red for 2024 option in Europe
sir, excellent work.

What’s the difference between 2024 z650 and 2023 z650?
I do answer this in the video.
Australians say “zed” too .
Almost everyone but Americans do. 👍
The Versys 650 has a different Engine. Different engine induction, different compression ratio etc..

Hi Peter
You’re right , it’s Zed not zee. Never zee. Same with Camaro Zed 28 ……never zee.
Haha! Watch out! There will be some American somewhere that has to correct you!!
Uhm, it's a ZEEEEEEE28, as per the manufacturer.
I love zed lepplin!!😅 hairway 2 sleaven is a great zong!😅
Who’s Zed?
Zed’s dead baby; Zed’s dead.
Ah yes. An American pretending like English is an American language first. I film in Canada. These are Zed here.
he didnt get it lol.
👏🏼👏🏼🙂
Side profile of the RS is a lot better including the seat...that pillion seat of z65o which is same in the ninja 650 and z900 is just plain ugly.
The "Z", without "RS", is one of the most ugly bike ever.
I hate to agree with you.😅😅
It has a cool modern look, I like the RS too, honestly choosing between the 2 would be difficult for me but I think I would take the Retro.
