I do wiki tree since 2013 and i do mine all by single entry, sometimes find matches and new cousins join the tree as time goes on... i have only had a couple problems with others trying to take over a profile i created... people should ask questions before assuming too much... it is great fun!

Great webinar. I can now see why one of my cousins uses this. I think I will use this over FamilySearch, Ancestry and My Heritage. I like this.

I just discovered this video and Wiki Tree. What a great overview. I have been doing my family history research since 1973 and this is the first web based tree outside Family Search that supports my belief that facts about people are not true until it has been supported by reliable documentation, source data or first hand knowledge. There are so many errors that keep getting replicated because many accept what has been posted as being valid. At one point I made my tree on Ancestry public. It was replicated and built on with all kinds of errors and assumptions that it has gotten to the point many of the hints are either repeats of my own original data or someone's conjecture of fact. After about a year I made it private and began looking for another way of building on the data I have through a controlled collaborated effort. If I am understanding this presentation correctly, data from a GEDCOM is not loaded directly to the "community tree" unless each person is an accepted matched to the same individual already in the 'community tree' or added as a new entry only if supported by valid source data. This is very similar to what is happening in Family Search. I look forward to exploring Wiki Tree further and it may become my main choice of documenting our family's history. Thanks for the introduction.....

I would love for you to do a video geared towards Chrome OS. I am looking for something that I can easy link/access family search data. PS. None shared tree.
