"Plot summary"
The mermaids living on the seven planets orbiting the red dwarf star, TRAPPIST-1, have evolved in harmony with their environment. Their scales, which surround their bodies, protect them from the intense solar flares emitted by their host star. However, over time, these scales have become increasingly rigid and coarse, causing discomfort and limiting their mobility. To survive, the mermaids have adopted a nomadic lifestyle, traveling between the seven planets in the TRAPPIST-1 system in search of relief.
At certain points in time, when they arrive at a specific planet in the system, they shed their hardened skin and experience a moment of unparalleled freedom. It is during this moment, when they move fluidly and effortlessly through the water, that they refer to it as "happiness." This fleeting sense of joy becomes a part of their ever-moving existence, as they continue to circle the stars, migrating across planets in search of peace and the chance to swim without restraint.
As they journey from one planet to another, the mermaids are driven not only by the need for survival, but also by the hope that someday, they will find a place where they can settle and live freely, without the constraints of their harsh, protective scales. Yet, the cosmos remains vast, and their search is unending.
The mermaids, shedding their tight and stiff scale skin, are enjoying the long-awaited freedom and joy.
After a few days, as the asteroid rotates and casts a shadow, they must regenerate their tough skin to stay safe.
They need to find and eat the Red Crystal for regeneration, but the crystal is located where snow is falling. Since they’ve already shed their skin, the mermaids repeat this process, but it remains difficult.
Occasionally, other creatures place seeds inside the Red Crystals. If they’re unlucky, the mermaid eating the crystal will end up with scales covering her face and head, but there’s no choice in the matter.

TRAPPIST-1の赤色矮星を中心に公転している7つの惑星に住む人魚たちは、環境と調和して進化してきました。彼女たちの体を囲む鱗は、母星から発せられる激しいフレアから守る役割を果たしています。しかし、時が経つにつれて、これらの鱗は次第に硬化し、粗くなり、彼女たちの身体の動きを制限するようになりました。生き残るために、人魚たちは遊牧的な生活様式を採用し、TRAPPIST-1系の7つの惑星を行き来しながら生き続けています。

재생에 필요한 붉은 결정을 찾아 먹어야 하지만, 그 결정은 눈이 내리는 곳에 있습니다. 이미 탈피를 했기에 인어들은 그 일을 반복하지만 여전히 힘들어합니다.
붉은 결정에는 간혹 다른 생명체가 씨앗을 넣어두기도 하는데, 운이 나쁘면 그 결정을 먹는 인어는 얼굴과 머리에 비늘이 덮이기도 하지만, 선택의 여지는 없습니다.
