    I know this video is 2 years old but I'm making a comment anyway. I recently bought a 2000 F350 crew cab 4x4 with a V10. I just went out to the junkyard to pick up a new center seat because mine is ripped up. Found this video as a result of doing some TH-cam research. I got my truck for 3 grand and have been working on it here and there to improve it. I'm not quite as competent at these things as you are and I don't have as many tools so I do some work myself and send the more challenging stuff to my mechanics. It is nice to have a big old truck for certain projects. Lately that has been landscaping and I use a lot of heavy materials for which I rent a dump trailer for. It's best to pull that weight with a super duty. Thanks!

    Check the pcv hoses from the valve covers to the back of the engine. On some years the rubber elbows collapse and get a hole in them. The later years went to all plastic and fixed the problem. Couldn't remember what year you said yours was.

      it is for me too. I can't remember if I said it in one of the videos or not, but this truck had sat for 3 years, it was so close to going to the junk yard, it would have been a shame.

    I'm doing this same set up for my 02 f350. I found some nice seats from an f250 at my local salvage yard. Time to give the ole bench seat the heave-ho 😂

      I'm doing the same thing this weekend for my '03 F350. My "new" seats are also out of an '02 F250. Bought them last fall and they've been sitting in my garage since. I took them to the local detail shop a couple weeks ago and had them shampooed, steam cleaned and sanitized. Looking forward to the upgrade. This was a good video - subscribed!

      How much did you guys pay for the seats?? I'm getting an 01 tomorrow but online the seats were way pricy

    • @DeepSouthBayouDiesel
      @DeepSouthBayouDiesel ปีที่แล้ว

      @@garrettjones8017 I paid $230 for the passenger, driver and center "jump" seat. But I ended up going back and getting a power seat for the driver side out of an excursion. I paid 60 dollars for that one. So $290 so far. I may go get the passenger seat from that same excursion. If you get seats from an excursion you'll have to remove the armrest from the seat or you won't be able to bolt up your seats.

    How were you able to get the seats to secure considering (I’m assuming) that there are no existing bolt holes for the inner legs for the captains seats or bolt holes/posts for the center jumpseat? Did you have to drill new holes or what’d you have to do to make the conversion work?

      its running decent right now. Still has a small hiccup that I haven't figured out yet, but nothing bad enough to keep me from using it. As for the Dump Trailer, I wish i would have bought it years ago.

    Major improvement with the seats, If you're like me and your wife is driving, it's so much better not having to ride with your knees embedded in the glovebox lid LOL plus, getting rid of that raggedy beach seat and replacing with bucket seats made that ol truck look 10 years newer. 👍

    Nice video! Only bad thing I noticed is it looked like you had your hand too close to the winch where it could get sucked in if your glove got caught on a broken wire.

      Every time I watch it I cringe. I know it looks closer than it is due to perspective, but it is still too close. Weird how things are one way in your head, then so different when you watch it on film.

    Now days people trash stuff that only needs some elbow grease, replacing worn out parts and updated maintenance. The seats looks great and I'm looking forward to seeing more updates.

      @shaweehillsworkshop4226  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. Obviously there is a line where the return isn't worth the investment and I have been guilty of crossing that line many times in the past, lol. But for the most part I haven't regretted fixing things as opposed to trashing them. I have a toolbox video coming out later this week that I think you will appreciate.

    Howdy, The big guy continues to impress with his wrenching and ground guide skills. The seats turned out great. Totally change the look and feel. I thought for a second you were going to back up fast then hit the brakes to extract the log form the dump trailer. You need to get a log/Wood Peavey. Great Vid. Stay safe...

      I loved seeing him put his finger on the socket once the nut got too loose for the ratchet to work, it made me a proud papa! Im also very glad to have someone I can trust guide me back! I have a Cant hook / Pevey in the budget but they have been sold out at our local Rural King for the past few months. They keep telling me they don't know when they are getting anything in anymore. I may have to order it, but I keep hoping I can just pick it up when I'm in RK
