I know 3 people that did and they all were audited and probably put on a list or 2. Despite their populist schtick they sell they are anything but and corrupt to their core. Hi A-A-Ron! As a former employee of Costco in Deerfield Township, OH, you would be AMAZED at how people STEAL from Costco. It used to be that someone would steal something from another store (Best Buy, Target, etc.) then would "Return" it to Costco. Customer would usually get an "in store credit". As for the ID, our store does it for door count going in. And as for the check at the exit, this is more to catch anything the Cashier may have missed. Also, our store has employees that initial your receipt in the self-scan so all you have to do is walk past the cart checkers waving your receipt. And, yes, Costco IS a really good company to work for. I could go on but I already have LOL!!

Trust me when I say that I totally and absolutely support you... But we need to be smart about this process. The key is the focus upon the most powerful people in Congress...The so-called "veterans", who tend to be corrupt scumbags. There are 2 ways to approach this and I encourage both. First is focusing upon the most influential people in Congress who might have a dog in the fight". I think this has the potential to work in terms of some level of congressional hearings. But there are downsides that we must be aware of. Scientology has purchased a lot of "friendship", and they have the money to purchase a lot more. This is why it's worthwhile to engage in some investigation to find out who might have a negative experience or Perception of Scientology and Focus upon them. Now for number 2... We need to get a letter writing campaign babe and by that I mean whatever type of media, to request investigation by the Justice department. Elder and child abuse are supposed to be important to them, but again, in the last 4 years, the Justice department has become even more corrupt. [ I am not being political in the least but give him my extensive experience (as a science adviser for both parties) with the government at the highest levels, I just know how the game is played, and who plays it which way.] I'm sorry to be so cryptic, but this is an unfortunate requirement. Even in retirement I'm extremely limited regarding what I can say and do...Which is extremely frustrating at times given what I know. I wish you well, my friend.

Nothing can change for the better without examining the definitions. Examining tax exempt status is way bigger than Scientology. Non profits have been established to avoid taxes, a way around taxes to achieve profit. Not suggesting non profits be eliminated, but rather it must be reexamined for what should be allowed. With a 501C, a non profit can pay executives huge salaries.

It would be beneficial to research your candidate for their interests and pet projects, then alter the email accordingly. CoS has such a range of abuses you can cherry pick to your audience.

Regarding Costco, I'm not sure if they have experienced any "gang shoplifters" yet. Home Depot and other large warehouse and clothing stores have, so I'm sure the Costo management has developed prevention methods to counter such a large crowd of criminals. And since no company wants to be accused of "profiling" they just watch everyone with "beedie eyes).

Hi A-A-Ron! As a former employee of Costco in Deerfield Township, OH, you would be AMAZED at how people STEAL from Costco. It used to be that someone would steal something from another store (Best Buy, Target, etc.) then would "Return" it to Costco. Customer would usually get an "in store credit". As for the ID, our store does it for door count going in. And as for the check at the exit, this is more to catch anything the Cashier may have missed. Also, our store has employees that initial your receipt in the self-scan so all you have to do is walk past the cart checkers waving your receipt. And, yes, Costco IS a really good company to work for. I could go on but I already have LOL!!
I have always felt that after I show my receipt exiting a big box store, they owe me an apology. They have just demonstrated that they suspect me of stealing. I proved them wrong, they owe me an apology. I don’t go to big box stores unless there is no other choice.

There are 435 members of the House of Representatives. If 250 of ELECTED members are in favor of holding these hearings, it would probably be a "GO". However, congressional hearings start in a committee and we can't anticipate who will be appointed to the committee that controls IRS standards (Oversight Committee? ). The 250 ELECTED members is possibly a good number. For better number, perhaps we should note how incumbent members respond.

Just a note on form-filled letters - my last MP (Member of UK Parliament and an utter POS) blanket stated he would not read or respond to ANY form-filled enquiries from constituents, so if people are able to keep the gist but play around with it.

While I don't care so much for the heightened entrance scrutiny at Costco, I totally understand it. As a paying member, it is inappropriate for non-paying members to shop there using someone else's membership. Costco also has been listed as a "good place for a cheap date" in the food court.Because so many non-members were shopping the food court, they had to initiate membership verification there as well.

Another website shows the only viable candidates for District 13 are Ms. Luna (Rep), Eric Lynn (Dem) and Frank Craft (Lib). Each of the other names have raised almost no money and thus are not viable. Are they still worthy of surveying?

By the way the email address for each congressional district is listed at the government site. And if you look at the campaign websites for each candidate they also typically list an email address... Just another free way to contact everyone.

Has someone who was a science adviser to people at the Highest levels, I think you got it slightly WRONG. The hearings need to be regarding scientology's CRIMINAL activities, and HOW it is DESTRUCTIVE to the people of the United States. That matters...
Trust me when I say that I totally and absolutely support you... But we need to be smart about this process. The key is the focus upon the most powerful people in Congress...The so-called "veterans", who tend to be corrupt scumbags. There are 2 ways to approach this and I encourage both. First is focusing upon the most influential people in Congress who might have a dog in the fight". I think this has the potential to work in terms of some level of congressional hearings. But there are downsides that we must be aware of. Scientology has purchased a lot of "friendship", and they have the money to purchase a lot more. This is why it's worthwhile to engage in some investigation to find out who might have a negative experience or Perception of Scientology and Focus upon them. Now for number 2... We need to get a letter writing campaign babe and by that I mean whatever type of media, to request investigation by the Justice department. Elder and child abuse are supposed to be important to them, but again, in the last 4 years, the Justice department has become even more corrupt. [ I am not being political in the least but give him my extensive experience (as a science adviser for both parties) with the government at the highest levels, I just know how the game is played, and who plays it which way.] I'm sorry to be so cryptic, but this is an unfortunate requirement. Even in retirement I'm extremely limited regarding what I can say and do...Which is extremely frustrating at times given what I know. I wish you well, my friend.

Wonder how religion/religious is defined in the tax exempt law. Change in Scientology tax exempt status WILL depend on a legal definition of, "religion," and/or, "religious."
Nothing can change for the better without examining the definitions.
Examining tax exempt status is way bigger than Scientology.
Non profits have been established to avoid taxes, a way around taxes to achieve profit.
Not suggesting non profits be eliminated, but rather it must be reexamined for what should be allowed.
With a 501C, a non profit can pay executives huge salaries.

The letter is too broad. The history of "how," the Scientology tax exempt status happened is also not relevant to the examination of the tax exempt law itself as it relates to what is a "religion."
