In this video we explore about the process of original Kanchipuram silk Saree,
there are so many process and man power involved, Raw silk thread is dyeing in the dying unit based on the color requirements of the users, so many people working in the dyeing unit it's fully depend on man power, there is big size boiler users in this process since hot water with correct temperature is must, they collect the hot water in a container mixed with soda and the color, they dip the raw silk thread in to the color mixed water for dying this process take almost 5 to 10 min once the color is get in to the thread it should be washed with running cold water and let it dry, some under sun and some under sun shade based on the color, one dying process complete the thread is ready for weaving
in Kanchipuram hand weaving is used, almost in every home handloom machine is there, based on customers requirements they produce the Saree, it will take one week to 1 month for completing the Saree, production time is depends on the design of the Saree, speciality of Kanchipuram is original silk Saree with silver and gold jarigai,
In Kanchipuram there is a testing centre which will test the quality of the jarigai and grams of gold and silver in the saree, the testing centre is running by Central Government, few fake dealers are located in Kanchipuram they sell duplicate Saree as original silver jarigai Saree, customers should be beware of these kind of fake dealers and they can ensure the quality with the help of the testing centres. Original silver jarigai always have resale value because it's contains silver and gold in it.
