objectively... come on, answer is obvious, unless you're a PPG collector...
I think there’s a difference between people who want the product simply because they love the anime and want the memorabilia, then there’s those who are infatuated with the title of having a “rare” or “valuable” item. I collect things because I’m passionate about the things I specifically collect not because of their price tag.
Honestly the new ones are so much better.
I'm glad attack on titan fans, like me, can finally get a affordable Mikasa and Eren.
I can see why people are upset because the old ones may tank in value but it's very unlikely.

Of course the new mikasa and eren are better. There’s a 8 year difference in production quality between them.

The new ones are definitely better. But there is just something about all of the older Funkos of any line that are cool. It’s fun to see the evolution of the quality over time while looking at your collection.
I’ve never had an old one or even seen an old one but I think the old ones are nice for nostalgia and what old pops look like but the new ones are good for people who want high quality aot funkos
TBH, there wasn't anything wrong with the Previous (2014) ones except for Mikasa and Eren. The old Eren Funko didn't really Resemble him that much. They could've atleast added a facial expression or something. Same for Mikasa. That's why I like the current (2022) Eren and Mikasa Because they look a lot more like the characters you see on TV and the facial expressions!!!!
Though, I will say that the current ones have a lot of detail that the older ones didn't really have
I doubt the og figures will drop at all in price

Solely because of the emotionless, bland standing pose of the old molds, the new ones are leagues better. I have old figures as it is, so that's not me crapping on people preferring old ones. Funko has really come a long way with their designs over the years, and it's cool to see the improvements over the course of the company's existence 👏
When i got the OG set years ago i got them cause i loved the anime didnt care about value. just wanted everyone statues are cool but tgese take up less space and in box u can stack them. i will never sell my AOT ones. cause i love the anime
I see how the Eren an Hanje are very similar molds, maybe even the same. The paint seems more shiny on Hange though.
Also, I dinner think the OG ones will go down, because they are still more rare and some people will pay more for a more rare stick er on the same pop, so they will still spend it to complete their collection.
The old ones will go down in value temporarily I think. Regardless of how the new molds look the old ones are still rare and hard to find with minty boxes.
@Joe Mama what’re you talking about. Older pops don’t restocked nearly as much because of the supply and demand not being as high back then. Look at all other pop lines that have an OG character mold compared to the new one, they are the majority of the time higher lol not to mention pre release verison that serious collectors pay big bucks for, you must be new to the hobby I don’t blame you for not knowing.
@Joe Mama your not wrong sometimes newer models are better get more expensive. But given how rare these are already nobody is lying to themselves here I’m just stating facts. Whether you believe it or not people do like “first editions” whether it’s cards vinyl figures etc there will always be a demand for the older ones, people are just happy cause now they can have their favorite characters at an affordable price (which they should) but the original versions will always hold that old nostalgic feeling. Like a stated before these will temporarily go down, but people who have them won’t let them go for cheap, the market will even itself back out.

I have the old eren, picked it up from a local collector for next to nothing, and I still gotta say, the new ones look so much better with the new moulds
I think that the original versions will probably dip a bit, but I think that the Black & White Eren from Bait will probably still hold value I think since it's a bit more unique/special.
I am starting my AOT collection with this wave, but i will wait for a beast titan flocked and a variant of armored titan or 10inch colossal titan

I like what you said with Law. But there's also SSG goku with the OG version and the newer CC version. The old one tanked (higher than the average one, but not $$$$$ anymore) while the new one spiked ($$$$$ now).
Actually regarding eren vs hamge debates I think people have a point. Maybe this wouldn't work for eren but they could've given thunderspears instead of swords amd that would've been different
New pops look better, like stated the details that went into the new ones are leagues better than the originals. I do agree on Ymir, I think it should have been a 6 inch pop and not a 4.

In terms of the Levi pops I've got the cleaning and normal ones I wouldn't get the new ones because I think two versions of Levi are enough for me

I'm not sure what that has to do with this video but I said that on a chance that these tank down and you end up losing a bunch of money. It's up to the collector at the end of the day how they spend their money. It's still possible to happen as Asuna tanked for example.
