It's a great weapon any time you're fighting something that can be ice imperiled (only enemies weak to ice can be effected). Not strong against any other fight clearly. As a sub weapon, we don't have any physical ice weapons yet, but this will most likely be the best thing when that does happen. Hopefully that covers it!
I use Serpent Eater and have Black Rifle as my 2nd. Since the game didn't give me any healers (my Aerith has a 3 star) I have been using a team made of Cloud, Barrett, and Lucia. I better get a healer soon, it's difficult to beat 97,000 content when my Cloud is the team healer.... He should be attacking, not healing.
The reason it doesn't effect my rating really (bar the Zack umbrella and Glenn club) most starts are fairly close to each other. The bonuses you get from the passives will vastly out weigh the minor differences you get for stats in most situations from what I've seen so far.
11:45 youre talking about greyed out diamonds and red diamonds. There no such thing as greyed out diamonds. These mean theres no element on the skill and its non-elemental. Everything does break 1 sigil.
You're 100% correct on it just meaning non-elemental. Don't know how I missed that thank you. Though you still need non-elemental damage to be able to break the "diamond" sigils. Anything breaks the O X △ yes, but it seems like you need non-elemental damage to be able to lower ◈ sigils from me testing against Ifrit VH.

Tranquilizer gun is great! The high DPS teams self heal.

I'm not very knowledgable about the game yet, but how come the base stats of the weapon don't really affect the rating that you give it?

Getting the Tranquilizer Gun from my Booststart 5 star ticket is what made me lose the drive to play this game and quit.
