Nothin wrong with having a heart in this circumstance in my opinion and I am one who almost NEVER is ok when someone backs down when right. You made your point clear with the people that mattered. She is doing the best she can with what information and training she has been provided.

Southend-on-sea council charge a small FORTUNE for filming on their property. You also need to apply a minimum of 5 working days beforehand. However, from the council's own website: Fees do not apply to individuals filming for their own personal use.

Money from TH-cam is for allowing adverts to appear on any video on his channel. No advertiser is sponsoring or asking for a particular video to be made as a condition of the payment. He will need to declare his earning from TH-cam as part of his self-assessment, but the money earned has no bearing on being a business.
100% agree you could not disrespect that lovely Lady. Pity the world does not have more like her. There is always a time to stand up and a time to back down. You Sir chose wisely.

I went to a Lusitania museum in Ireland in 2015 for the centenary of the sinking in 1915. A lady told me that i couldn't take pictures but when the person who came with me told them that a relative of mine had died on the ship, i was treated like royalty and told i could take as many photos as i liked!!
14:30 You would think a dusty old museum with no one in it would welcome the publicity of people posting pictures and video. It might be their rule but it makes no sense.
I don't know how rules are for public servants, but I would have tipped her. That's what you do when you get good service. In this case, tipping her and not the others, could have been a way to show what attitude is prefered. Customer service, when it is good customer service, is something to value.

I think it's a grey area as he's clearly monetising the content he is recording.
That is there policy, but if its council property that's public property as the public pay for it, therefore you can record it.
He gets paid for the advertisements, not the video so it's still classed as personal use.
