Loving your new year content, just what I was looking for. And I am big into really deeply reflecting on my money story this year, and what I want for 2023. Re: splitting with a partner, me too! We use the equity model, which is just tallying your total gross income together, and then dividing every shared expense based on the % you each contribute to the gross. I also make more so sometimes it feels a little painful, but I also have so much gratitude for being able to share that hard work & reward with my partner! It helps that we've flip flopped a couple times through our 10yr relationship :) Happy to be following your channel as a new sub for 2023!
This comes just in time! I purchased the spreadsheet this morning and put in all my numbers and plans for 2023 and then I was just watching your old budgeting videos when this popped up❤I'm snagging some of your money mindset tips, thank you so much for sharing your money flow routine so openly and transparently! You've majorly contributed to me feeling so confident in my own journey towards wealth management.
So this just popped up and i love your finance talks! If you dont mind, could you (if you haven't yet already) please talk about (if you dont mind) the different products you're investing in from your TFSA? New subbie here 😊😊😘
Maybe this will be answered in another video, but how do you handle credit card payments within the spreadsheet and their balance if you're paying it off in full monthly? I almost feel like each of my credit card purchases would need to be broken down into an expense or bill category (including pulling out individual Amazon purchases) and then having a different spreadsheet that tracks the balance of the credit card because payment of that wouldn't be reflected in the transactions of this spreadsheet.
So because I only use my credit card for spending (groceries, personal spending, gas etc) I track all of those purchases in the expenses section (my budget with me videos show that) and then that would be your credit card payment since if you're using it and paying in full the numbers should match up. So you don't really need to track your "Credit card payment" since you're already tracking your expenses and spending!
While I love sharing my finances and tips on that I am still figuring out investing myself and will leave that part to the financial professionals! I don't really have any "tips" on investing but talking to a financial advisor is a great place to start! I invest for my retirement through my work and also personally!!
Totally bought this spreadsheet because of you (So thank you, love!) but also messaged the creator and she said they're revamping the layout to include additional areas for Subscriptions and, I believe, more Bills...ya girl over here got way too many 🤣
Hi, I have a question about making a business account. Do you need to be a actual business with a llc to make a business checking account? I want to start TH-cam and make a different bank account for that income. Do you have any advice or tips for this?
It's going to be different depending where you live! I'm not a financial expert so I can't say for sure but I waited until I had a business license to open mine in Canada!
I love your nose ring can you share where it’s from or how to ask for it? I love that it’s tiny and so delicate I haven’t been able to find one like it. Thank you and Happy New Year 🎉
Honestly there are no "advantages" I think it just comes down to your personal choice! I have tried financial software in the past and just haven't loved it for the way I like to oversee my finances so I use a spreadsheet! Just depends on what you like! Finances are so personal that you have to enjoy however you track them!
Has the spreadsheet updated? I got one back early 2022 and it looks so different (bought from the hundreds club) this looks like a way better updated version!
The term "resetting" doesn't have to be for everyone, you can come up with your own term. I view resetting as a fresh start, a chance to create new goals and habits for a new year. It doesn't have to mean going backwards but I do think in a sense it is starting fresh, which is what a new year is to me!
For me resetting is more like a review of the year. I always think I am not making any progress but when I do my review I actually see that’s not true. It gives me boost to keep going as I can see I actually do make progress. I question why I didn’t achieve a goal that I set previous year . What I can change to make it happen this year. Is it my mindset, my gameplan.
I love the idea of changing your money mindset. For me, the word Budget brings feelings of restricting myself instead of planning or managing my expenses. I feel like it has a negative connotation. So I love that you’re changing the word you use to help your mind view money differently!
I plan on re-evaluating my finances for 2023. I'm frugal but trying to get better with my spending. I go out to eat during lunch at work once a week. My boyfriend and I go out to eat once a week but sometimes we spend more than plan. We are still hungry, order another meal, but share that meal. I think if we try to make sacrifices it'll help. Money goes fast. Most of our money goes to food. We need to improve on that.
Thank you so so so much Carter for this video because I was eagerly waiting for this financial reset video so so much you are my inspiration and I wish you reach 80K Subscribers very very soon!☺️💫❤️
I've never been paid commission before so I feel like I'm not much help I'm sorry! But maybe budget off the lowest amount possible so you never overshoot your income!
I explained this in the video that I customized the colours myself to be better suited to my neutral colour palette! So the same spreadsheet but I changed the colours myself!

YES! I think it'll be a game changer for 2023!!

Hi there! I don't share my specific stocks I invest in- I use a roboadvisor through Wealthsimple and its on the highest risk possible!

I bought the spreadsheet around July of last year from one of the links in your videos. How do I update it?
Hi! You'd have to reach out to the Etsy shop (it's not my template) and see!
I love that you invest. Can you share more tips on that?
While I love sharing my finances and tips on that I am still figuring out investing myself and will leave that part to the financial professionals! @@CarterSullivan great thanks!! I’ve been wanting to learn more about investing so speaking with a financial advisor is a great place to start
I purchased the monthly spreadsheet like a week ago after seeing your monthly reset. I love it!
Love that for you!
Looking at other people's finances is bizarre, particularly from other countries. Like, I don't earn £3000 a month, let alone save it!
Are you from the uk too? I find it bizarre too lol 😂
Is the same for Chile. Actually we earnt togethee 3600 pounds but the cost of living are insane, so you dont have much space to save neither😢
I know right! I’m baffled! I can’t even save a pound out of my salary 😅 UK probs.
Yayyyy so glad you read IWTYTBR! It’s a great book and podcast and has really helped me change my money mindset too ❤❤
It's so good!

Which spreadsheet the Etsy shop has loads
Carter!!! Ur hair and makeup looks so pretty in this
Thank you aw 🥹♥️
Yess!!! I have been waiting for your financial 2023 reset for what feels like forever!😂

I've honestly had it for years so I don't remember where it's from anymore I'm sorry! Maybe check Amazon? 🤗
Thank you. I was waiting for this!
What are the advantages of using a spreadsheet like this vs. financial software like Mint?
Honestly there are no "advantages" I think it just comes down to your personal choice! Love the Money Flow instead of budget, I'll start implementing new terms into my spreadsheet too. Thanks for the amazing content, Carter 💜
Love that for us!!
Smart move not sharing your financials with social media. When creators do that I get nervous for them.
Don't get me wrong I love sharing my budgetting and numbers with y'all but not my totals 😅
Hey Carter! Hope you have a happy holidays! I love all the new year content! Congrats on 77k!!!
Thank you sweet friend!! ♥️
I like wealth plan... And money flow is great too. Your channel is motivating me to get back to tracking my money intentionally.
You can do it!
@@CarterSullivan 🤗Thank you.
I loved this video and I took the plunge and bought the planner. Looking forward to getting my shit together!
Woohoo love that for you! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!
@@CarterSullivan Thank you!
I’m going to call mine 2023 Financial Plan. I don’t really like term budget - it seems restrictive!
Love that for you!
Immediately purchased this spreadsheet lol
Hope you love it as much as I do!
Which spreadsheet is it the Etsy shop has loads
How do you get the emojis to populate on the spreadsheet? I bought and downloaded this tracker but can’t figure out to do that.
I just copy and paste the emoji into the field from Google!
if you have a mac you can do crtl+cmd+space and pick an emoji :)
On Windows: Windows button + .
@@JannaNiki you just changed my life with this tip (okay maybe not my LIFE but definitely my texting efficiency)
Has the spreadsheet updated? I got one back early 2022 and it looks so different (bought from the hundreds club) this looks like a way better updated version!
Yep its the updated 2023 version!
@@CarterSullivan yaaaaas! I’m obsessed! Ordering the new one now lol 🙌🏽 thanks my lovely xxx
I've been waiting for this one.....TURN IT UP!!!!
WOOOHOO♥️
Hey you will have a good 2023 year and better finances here to support you
Thanks!
I don't understand the whole reseting thing. To me that implies going backwards and starting over.
The term "resetting" doesn't have to be for everyone, you can come up with your own term. I view resetting as a fresh start, a chance to create new goals and habits for a new year. What kind of camera do you use ??
Canon G7X Mark ii or Sony ZV-10!
Yasss mindset big key
So true🫶🏻
You have by far the best financial planning videos IMO because they are so relatable. 👌🏾
This is so kind, thank you!
Ahhh yay!!! The odds this came up as soon as I was in the process of resetting🥰 Exciting to do it alongside youuuuu!!!:)
Love that for you!!
Hey new to your channel.
I love the idea of changing your money mindset. For me, the word Budget brings feelings of restricting myself instead of planning or managing my expenses. I feel like it has a negative connotation. So I love that you’re changing the word you use to help your mind view money differently!
I totally agree!!
I totally feel that about Emergency Fund! I call it my WTF?! Fund / Unexpected Expenses. 😅
I love that!!
I really appreciated your tips on impulse spending! I have a hard time saying no at winners and homesense....even the dollar store!
Same honestly 😂 Progress not perfection I try and tell myself!
Love these videos! Will do mine in January, thank‘s for reminding me that you can do this when ever 👍☺️
Of course!!

#carter can you do a video on how to use commission. That is going to be my income going forward and I haven’t really ever had commission before

For all the US people: notice how she doesn't even need to budget for health/medical care 😪😪😪
One of the reasons I never want to leave Canada hahaha😅😅
Budget = macros
Money flow = intuitive eating

Yes exactly!!!!
