  • BlackSeaRC presents a fully detailed look at the Rastar Bentley Continental GT Speed 1:24 scale radio-controlled car. This video includes unboxing, close-up look at all details, functional testing, performance testing and assessment of good/bad points.
    The BlackSeaRC collection includes RC vehicles of many different types and scales. If you are looking for a low cost scale-realistic RC car then typically Rastar products are available in 1:14 scale or the smaller 1:24 scale. I haven't reviewed many 1:24 scale vehicles so this is something a bit different for collectors to consider. This RC car is a fully licensed product and replicates the Bentley Continental GT Speed super coupe in authentic detail. The GT Speed was designed as a grand tourer and combines supercar levels of performance with the luxury of a limousine. If you are interested in adding this Bentley RC car to your collection, please take a look at the video to find out more.

      Thanks for watching and leaving your comment. Yes, these cars can be enjoyed by everyone of all ages. Crawlers are great for indoor use too and you can easily take them anywhere. I also have an even smaller micro off-road trophy truck that is 1:32 scale. Check out my custom build on this channel, BlackSeaRC.

      Recently I have become more interested in some of the rarer Rastar models, especially country specific special editions and some of the early production models. These tend to come mainly in the 1:14 scale though. So far I have a BMW X6 Fast Medical Response vehicle and Porsche Cayenne Turbo VIP Taxi. I also just found a brand new police version of the G63 that I will be reviewing soon.

      @@sbutcher505 Which RC car are you referring to? I often buy my Rastar cars at a local toy shop because it saves paying for shipping (which can be expensive). But I realise that often people just cannot find them locally and then you have to search online. Often it depends what country you are in. Obviously, the Rastar range is great big and even if you find a local stockist, they will likely only have a limited choice.

    In my opinion, Rastar should spend more time and develop the Remote Control for their cars in such a way that they look more appealing and fancier. In comparison to how their cars are made, and how detailed they are, the Remote Control looks really bland. Which more or less looks similar to the Remote of unbranded RC cars.

      I have to agree! The handsets just don't have the same feeling of quality as the cars themselves. When operating the car it gives a negative impression. But if you think these RC handsets are bad you should see some of the ones that are provided with other brand ready-to-run RC models that are 5 or 10 times more expensive. Often they are equally bad and the designs are masterpieces of cheap-looking plastic.

    Hello. Does these luttle cars have open differential as it is written on the websites? Thank you

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello and thank you for your question. The 1:14 scale RC cars are mostly two-wheel drive and have a differential at the rear. This allows the wheels to turn at different speeds when cornering and you can stop one wheel rotating by holding it whilst applying power. In off-road conditions, this is not ideal as one wheel will spin and traction is lost (see my Maserati Levante video for a demonstration). The 1:24 scale Bentley in the video has a fixed drive rear axle. Both wheels rotate together. There is no differential fitted. I don't have any other 1:24 scale Rastar vehicles in my collection but as far as I am aware, the other models share a similar 2WD driveline. Sometimes the descriptions for these models are not correct and there may be some confusion as most products are commonly produced in 2 different size variants. The bigger versions also have features such as fully detailed interiors and sometimes opening doors. Note that there are also other scales available such as 1:10, 1:12, 1:16, 1:18 and 1:26. Typically, the larger vehicles have open differentials but the smaller scale vehicles have fixed rear axles.

      @@dianakorenieva5204 In reality, you probably wouldn't even notice that much when driving anyway. The Bentley drives and turns okay on a hard floor surface but in the video you might hear or see it skipping just a little bit when making tight turns. The 1:14 scale cars turn slightly more smoothly but tend to get more easily stuck if they encounter an uneven surface.

      That's bad luck! I have a couple of local stores that sell Rastar RC cars. In one of them there is only one of each model and once it is sold there is very little chance you will ever see it again. In the other they stock the models is larger quantities but the choice is less so if there is not a model you want you can easily wait months for them to get alternative stock. I do like this Bentley but I miss some of the details that would be on a 1:14 scale version. On the other hand, I like that it costs half the price!

      I must say I didn't notice anything in this model. Usually the suspension on Rastar models is too stiff to be of any real use anyway but at least the front suspension on this Bentley works quite well considering the limited travel.

      These 1:24 scale RC cars perform surprisingly well for their size but I'm sure the majority of people buy them for the scale realism rather than the driving experience. The Rastar 1:14 scale RC cars are even better from a realism point of view and often have fully detailed interiors as well. To see a wide variety of scale realistic RC vehicles, please check the other videos on this channel, BlackSeaRC.

    How much is all the other scales of that car in US dollars?

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes the prices here vary considerably but all these models are typically between 2000 and 3000 RUB (which works out as approximately 27 to 40 USD at current exchange rates). I suspect that by the time these models have reached America they cost quite a bit more than that in reality? The prices of these Rastar models is really quite reasonable in Russia compared with USA, EU and UK.

    They need to give it four-wheel drive like they do the SCX 24s but at least try to do it for a car at least.

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rastar has all the capabilities to produce such a model but I guess they see their market elsewhere. Certainly, if you look at products such as those made by MN Model, WPL, FMS, etc. some of the hobby grade machines are very close to the price of a Rastar but have significantly better performance.

    Could you recommend some models that are very slow. It should be for a child.

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      How old is the child? My son started driving RC cars at age 4 but he wasn't fully in control. Now he is 6 and much more used to the controls. The difficulty with RC cars is that the introductory models are cheap and typically don't have proportional controls so are much harder to drive. With non-proportional control you either have full throttle or no throttle with nothing in-between. There are handsets with buttons for throttle/steering and also 'pistol grip' style handsets with a trigger and wheel. Both styles should be quite easy to get used to. What is your budget? Do you want to drive inside? The 1:24 scale Rastar vehicles are quite fast for their size. They also need quite a large open space to drive in. The 1:14 scale vehicles are about the same speed and with nice detailing but require more space. My favourite is actually the new 1:16 scale Rastar Hummer EV that I recently reviewed. It is relatively slow (see my video for it driving) and has 4-wheel steering for better turning in small spaces.
      Another thing to consider is something slightly more expensive but with proportional control. I found a crawler type vehicle to be the most helpful to learn with. It is designed for low-speed use, can turn in small spaces and some can even be used outside. For example, look at my Pinecone SG1205 video. Other options would be brands such as FTX, WPL and EazyRC.

    The non-rechargable batteries on this car really triggers me. Just imagine having to swap the batteries every few hours!

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      AA type batteries are still commonly used in RC cars in this price range although they are gradually getting replaced by rechargeable battery packs (either Ni-MH, Li-ion or LiPo). You are right, you will get through quite a few AA batteries if you don't use the rechargeable variants. This car uses 5 in total but the 1:14 scale cars use 5 batteries in the car and another 2 in the handset. However, since these cars are typically used indoors, they probably won't be used for hours at a time. I also have some cars with built-in battery packs that run for less than 10 minutes per charge. That is very annoying!

    Looks like the rear tires falling off the rim.

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Funny you should mention that because when I watched the video I thought the same thing. I even didn't notice that when I was filming. However, I just had a look at the wheels and they all seem to be like that on this model. The rubber tyre section pushes on from the back and whilst the tyre does move a little on the rim, it seems like that is just how they are. Personally I agree that the rim protrudes just a little bit too far. Often the video highlights little details on the model that you even don't see in reality.

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, it is a shame that it doesn't have lights because they are really cheap to fit. Also, even some of the much cheaper Chinese brands have lights fitted so I think a Rastar model deserves to have them.
