This was the film which raised everyone’s eyebrows towards Alia Bhatt for her acting abilities.
She won her first Best Actress nomination. The award went to Kangana Ranaut for Queen
Acting did raise eyebrows but movie story about romanticizing your kidnapper also raised many eyebrows aswell. 👀
@@Kishore_44its much more nuanced than that. Its the the fact that she felt more free and and sfe there. She was more respected there. Its not just her falling in love with him, they could have easily kept him alive if they just wanted that plotline
@@Kishore_44 No dude the story line is too deep to understand for everyone. It is simply not as cheap as to romanticizing the kidnapper. In fact the lines that say she does not want to go back to where she came from neither does she want to go where they are taking her to but the way in between is where she found her true peace in. Maybe not everyone will understand how it feels to grow in such a house.

@@Kishore_44It's called Stockholm syndrome.. it's a real thing were the hostage falls in love with their kidnapper... It happened in real life in many cases across the world.
The fact that this was just Alia's second movie. She is just such a great actress 👏

Finally!!! Someone reacting to my underrated favourites! I never had anyone watch these kinda movies with me, I wanted to, but, sadly this is not people's taste...so finally its you guys joining me in my "me time" movies.

Kumbalangi Nights was set in Kerala... Very very south of India...
Northern India is beautiful but the rest of India also has wonderful topography.. Mountain ranges, hill stations, forests, waterfalls...

Anybody thought when Veera confessed her sexual molestation experience/ trauma with Mahabir, she trusted him? Cause that scene when Mahabir slapped the creepy guy for attempting to sexually assault Veera, she felt protected, and finally someone standing up for her? Finally, someone stopping a sex predator....
I think this movie is the highlight of Alia Bhatt's acting career... It changed people's perspective after SOTY that she can really act. After that her value as an actress increased manyfold.

Kumbalangi nights is set in kerala,which is the southmost state of india. India has it all, to the north snow clad mountains, to the east rainforests, to the south backwaters, beaches,mountains and to west-deserts and list goes on.
Y'all would understand if you guys watched the film instead of talking when she's explaining why she stayed. Stockholm Syndrome.

A movie based on the premise of roads and highways with female as lead. You should watch NH10. A 2015 movie, which is not recommended enough.
just like tazering is common in US, based on suspicion/personal bias....the same way canning is common in india..secondly..there are checkposts at state boundaries which are under surveillance for security reasons..which i think is present in all countries like patrolling.

I think this is not right time to review this film for you people. The perfect Hindi movie to transition from Thanksgiving day to Christmas period is recently released Unchai. Its based on some old persons wish to conquer peak in Himalayas and fulfill unfinished wishes of family member, representing family bonding of Thanksgiving to hope and success of Christmas. Apparently this would have been first channel to review this movie I guess apart from featuring actor who played Piku father in another fantastic role with different shades of acting.
Guys watch "LUDO" after this... it's a fun movie with great performance by everyone and music is good too.

Please watch Paa. You guys loved Amitabh Bachhan in Piku. You guys loved Vidya Balan in Kahaani. You’ll love to see them together in Paa, as an unusual mother-son duo. Also, Amitabh’s real-life son plays his father in that movie

@@01sandeeproy her abusive family is what makes her not want to return back home . She also finds out that her kidnapper also suffered from abuse as a child. So Her actions have solid reasons. Stockholm syndrome is when you develop an inexplicable affection towards your abuser/kidnapper. Her case is not that. She even leaves her family to live on her own in the end
@@PriyaK-cu1fz It's nowhere written that people with Stkhm sndrm couldn't leave there family. SS occured in human beings due to series of incidents happening from his family, friends and close ones.
