Canterbury jackin green ones was awesome! You will be fine scott, staying consistently at the top in fishing is extremely hard! You have been doing this long enough to know that better than anyone. You can always watch video of your successful finishes compared to unsuccessful just to self evaluate. It’s a streaky game of ups and downs and soon you will be on the upswing. Thanks so much for sharing with us. Stay confident, you know your one of the best in the world at what you do!!
Those big ones have such hard mouths. I bought all the cutsie drop shot hooks and bailed on those quickly. Young guys and the killer Japanese guys really run a light drag. Idk but love the respect for the lake I love and watching all you badasses here. Thanks Sir!
You are a winner Scott so getting a little angry is certainly understandable because of your competitive spirit. I felt bad when you lost that big one too! Shake it off and kick butt at the next tournament. Thanks so much for bringing us along with you every day of your tournaments.
I’ve watched you reel in a thousand fish and I love the excitement in your fights, it’s awesome, you do you! I wouldn’t worry about or change anything except you pulling on that line in your fight with a big fish, we have to do it all day long to check that drag tightening up but not when you have Big Bertha on, maybe I’m wrong about it for you, the person holding the rod is the only one that can feel what that fish is doing so adjustments can be made during the fight, other than that what the heck could it be. Sorry for the back handed compliment but I just want to see you won the classic!
@15:25 For me it seems if I point the rod tip down trying to “keep the fish from jumping” when it does jump it throws more slack in the line compared to if I keep the tip high with pressure. In my experience I lose more trying to keep it from jumping by pointing the rod down. It messes up leverage and seems to throw more slack in the line when they do jump.
Keep it up Scott! Don’t apologize for being raw and real on the lake. It’s not what did or didn’t happen, it’s how you overcome the situation. We don’t need to see you slay every time, although we’re all rooting for you. We just want to be apart of your journey.
Scott Canterbury looks more comfortable than anyone I have ever seen tossing a jig/flipping whatever bait it may be! He's definitely at peace with that technique and sure can Jack on them when he's at it!! Good man too right there as all 3 of team SMC are! It's great to see!!
Hey Scott I'm the guy with his son you informed about the catfish tournament me and my son are playing a trip to the pyramid in Memphis just want to say ROCK GREAT JOB
Just a shake of the head, that's all it takes. Ya'll did a great job, a house cut, that's a good tournament. Looking forward to St Lawrence, God's Speed! Love ya'll 😊
No wonder Champlain seems to be a favorite place of Mr Canterbury to fish with all those great areas to flip for largemouth. Scott Martin has an amazing backround with Champlain with his wins n finishes here and for Matt with his consistency Champlain should always fit for him. Great to see all team Smc get the house cut here as it should be!
Drives me nuts when I lose a big one. Just shows you care. You're such a good angler! I don't always know the why when they pop off. I'd like to dream that someday I'll figure it out lol.
I couldn’t agree with Canterbury more.. catching them green ones is just WAY more fun. Who wants to stare at a screen all day.. he said exactly what I was thinking 🤔
Scott you are still the man you have taught me how to catch more fish and this is still awesome to watch nothing better except maybe Hilary's videos. Just kidding you guys rock. Thanks
No he's not ...u know how bad it SUCKS to lose a big fish that's money points etc that swim off and u cant answer why it happen!! i feel his pain when a big'in gets off u work so hard and everything falls apart
I have the same problem at times I contributed to Hookset. I wish I could learn to set like Cannaberry. He crosses them suckers eyes on the flipside, though, when I do that it seems like a break off more often than not.
I literally expect for the fish to magically come off with scott i hate it for him but you see it so much please lift what ever voodoo is on my man scott
Sitting out there in the middle of the lake getting beat up for hours just doesn’t look fun! It’s a bucket list deal but man I’d rather be doing the Canterbury program! Enjoy the channel big time! Thxs
Its not the rod reel line hook or man its just fishing. Its not different than a guy making an error in baseball or dropping a pass in football, when you love something so much and you fail you have to vent that frustration out, you cant hold that in or you're goingvto spin out or burn out. Love to see the passion ❤
Hey Scott we completely understand your lash out. When I lose a fish people can here me pissed off a half mile away. Losing a fish is harder than giving birth 😂
I root for you constantly......that being said.....brother you need to take a page from Canterbury. Yeet those bass's faces to the sky! Hook set is way to gentle. Pull their lips off! Love you brother and better luck next year on the Classic!
It's called fishing... sharp hook... stiff rod... heavy line... yet it just takes a quick flip of the head and that wiley big bass is gone ! Anyone who has ever wet a line knows the feeling.... especially in a tournament. If it was easy everyone would be doing it. Shake it off, and the next tournament is a new tournament. As always enjoyed everything. You three are a great team. One request...and I am sure you probably already have before. But after all is said and done.. can in one of your videos. Each of you do like a quick walk around of your truck and boats. Thank you.
I notice when you are not tourney fishing you do alot closer to shore, pads and also use more baitcasters. What’s your thought process on this? I know your usually on home lakes most of the time but just curious
I miss the largemouth content and would much rather large mouth fish, nothing like a big green back. Either way if Scott Martin's involved it's gonna be 🔥
I know it’s frustrating but keep your head up u will bust that ass in st Lawrence river I say u put on a clinic there and make the classic and get one of them BLUE trophies 🏆 u got this man let’s GO 👍🏁💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
I swear these lost smallmouth are due to his drag being too loose. He was doing it last year smallmouth fishing too. Every 3 pounder pulling a ton of drag, thinking it’s a giant. Maybe he’s using 6 lb line and needs it that loose. Man, just my theory. Love SMC.
Talent as nothing to do with fishing if your the best with electronic on board he will win in a couple of years they will know the wait of the fish before trowing your line watch will be fishing in 10 years I think it will be dead
Still supporting trokar? Eeeek.. I used them for a minute but I was not a fan. Lost more fish than I could count. Maybe it was just my luck or something I did wrong, I just have much better success with Owners or Gama’s
It IS the rod Scott. You have great shimano reels the best of the best. But you skimp on the rod. Favorite rods have terrible actions and they do NOT keep the fish pinned good. Get yourself some Shimano or Gloomis MBR conquest rods and you will be winning tournaments.
I hâte wen you buy your line in the water and we know you are going to catch one it is not fishing no more every body that know f forward fishing can beat a real good fisherman with no electronic on board that is ashamed to bad for the sport money control everything in are days sorry for you guy’s
Not hating on you but it seems from watching your videos you lose more fish by not setting the hook and just reeling like your using a circle hook. Just an observation..

It’s hard to beat the sights and sounds of Canterbury crossin eyes! Bucket list lake for me, great videos of Champ.

Great passion is accompanied with great frustrations keep casting man it’s going to happen, content is great!
You still the man !!!! Just left Champlain last week now going back next week !!!! Love living close to the best lake in the world !!!!!!
Great video as usual!! Loved watching them jack the green ones!!!
Awesome vid Scott!!!🔥

All right boys let's geter done follow you guy's all year. I've been praying for yall keep on trucking boys.
You have helped me become a better angler good luck!
It's always a Good day on the water, Great job Gentlemen
You gave it a good go that's for sure. I'm always backing you! Observationally it seems like you try to do so much fighting the fish in.
Great Work Scottie.

Man Canterbury has a great Hooksett! 👍

Always grinding hard. Can’t wait to see the season finale!
Thank you McCoy. Great job as usual. Sorry I had to get on you in the last video. 🤘🏻
Drives me nuts when I lose a big one. Just shows you care. You're such a good angler! I don't always know the why when they pop off. I'd like to dream that someday I'll figure it out lol.
Can’t wait to fish Champlain myself some day!
It’s amazing! My father in law lives in Plattsburgh and we put the hammer on some Smallies
I couldn’t agree with Canterbury more.. catching them green ones is just WAY more fun. Who wants to stare at a screen all day.. he said exactly what I was thinking 🤔
Hey Scott I hope to see you and Matt in Toledo bend Louisiana 2024
Keep your head up Scott!! You pull out something special at st lawrence. 😉
Scott you are still the man you have taught me how to catch more fish and this is still awesome to watch nothing better except maybe Hilary's videos. Just kidding you guys rock. Thanks
This guy the Phil Hellmuth of bass fishing lol
No he's not ...u know how bad it SUCKS to lose a big fish that's money points etc that swim off and u cant answer why it happen!! i feel his pain when a big'in gets off u work so hard and everything falls apart
Your right
I think a lot, if not all of the in boat meltdowns, get ✂️
“Honey they’re catchin 30 pound bags on nightcrawlers”
Losing that fish hurt a lot. It essentially kept him from making the classic. Perfectly fine to show that emotion IMO.
Champlain is my back yard lake ❤
I felt the pain of losing that big one. 😂😂
Phenomenal season brother!
I think u spelled challenge wrong in the title screen lol 😂
Fast fwd to watch Canterbury largemouth fish
I have the same problem at times I contributed to Hookset. I wish I could learn to set like Cannaberry. He crosses them suckers eyes on the flipside, though, when I do that it seems like a break off more often than not.

The loss of the big one at the end is just exactly how we all feel when that happens. Not funny at the time but it's kinda funny reaction now
Hey Scott we completely understand your lash out. When I lose a fish people can here me pissed off a half mile away. Losing a fish is harder than giving birth 😂
Hard to watch this one for sure, good video but hard to see the struggle. Staying tuned for the next one

Don't worry that big one you lost was a drum
I love watching the videos but the key to your fishing is your hook set. Scott you start reeling instead of setting the hook first
A weird thing happens once....this seems to happen often, loosing fish. Maybe it is time to be lookin at equipment
Like some others say. Got to use Gamatsu hooks!
is bass forecast accurate
I miss the largemouth content and would much rather large mouth fish, nothing like a big green back. Either way if Scott Martin's involved it's gonna be 🔥

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It's not the rod, it's not the line. It's not the hook I think it's you.😢😢
Did you misspell the thumbnail on purpose?
I love your videos, but you take forever to get them out !! 😢😢
Looks like the shallow large mouth bite was more productive
Who in the house made the classic?
I swear these lost smallmouth are due to his drag being too loose. He was doing it last year smallmouth fishing too. Every 3 pounder pulling a ton of drag, thinking it’s a giant. Maybe he’s using 6 lb line and needs it that loose. Man, just my theory. Love SMC.

It's not the rod it's not the line it's not the hook it's the way it's go be 😢darn that was a good one sorry about that Mr. Martin still did awesome
Smallie looked bigger than a 3.70.
dang ir

😂😂 sorry buddy I really wanted it to be the rod or something your doing but at this point it’s just not meant to be.

show more fishing longer vids needed'
Time for official weight on the boat and then release. The whole keeping/culling part is too dumb.
I hâte wen you buy your line in the water and we know you are going to catch one it is not fishing no more every body that know f forward fishing can beat a real good fisherman with no electronic on board that is ashamed to bad for the sport money control everything in are days sorry for you guy’s
