Good to see Sunny again...he is a fantastic actor. He is one of the most loved celebraty . Pooja Bhatt is so genuine... even when she was an actress I like her to watch can't say much but I was not born when she worked as an actor..I myself born in 2002 ..but I watch some of her movie.
Good interview. I liked it. All the four actors were brilliant in the film- they lived their characters. On the subject of nepotism, honestly an actor would not survive just because he/she happens to come from a film background. In fact, Sunny and Pooja are bang on right about what they said regarding the difficulties and challenges. Maybe the kids from film families stand a chance of getting good opportunities but at the end of the day, they need to be convincing and relatable enough to be accepted by the masses and also to forge their own path. I know that in Malayalam film industry, nepotism would not work- simple. In fact, in Malayalam films, it will become all the more challenging and difficult to meet and surpass audience expectations if you are from a star studded family. Case in point- legendary Malayalam actor Prem Nazir's son Shah Nawaz did not quite make it in the film industry. Also Fahad Fazil when he first got cast by his director dad, Fazil in his own film, the film not only flopped badly but Fahad was cast out. Literally for 8 years, nobody even knew where Fahad was. He was out of the limelight completely. It was his second time around when he returned after his film related studies abroad, he started coming back into films slowly, carefully selecting his films and roles, that he started gaining recognition and eventually mass acceptance.... so much so that he is perhaps the most sought after actor in Malayalam and has started gaining admiration from other Southern states and even the rest of India as I understand. Coming to Dulquer Salmaan (DQ), again, he did off-beat and low key films to start with. He did not receive any support or favours from his family (which was a good move). Then after a few good Malayalam films, his knack for selecting good interesting roles and plus the fact that he managed to navigate so seamlessly into Tamil, Telugu and now Hindi is a testimony to this guy's talent. Being Mammotty's son is secondary now. We don't think about that aspect at all because DQ has proved his potential and he has no trace whatsoever of his legendary father.... except maybe that deep bass voice. 😊
