It's so cool to watch these pit walks, I am green of envy because it's my favourite era of F1, these footages are pure gold. It's nice to hear different languages as you walk past different team pits, german at Rial, italian at Ferrari and Minardi, french at Ligier and AGS, and english everywhere else!
@@robhurley5258 Andrea was a brave driver. He was really fast. Maybe a little bit crazy but he was fast. It always seemed very unfair to me that the press only remembered him for being a driver who crashed cars. He suffered from Tourette syndrome. Did you know Andrea has a record that can hardly ever be beaten? Believe it or not Andrea De Cesaris still holds a very remarkable record in F1. He managed to get points with 9 different constructors. And he never drove a top car. Until today nobody could overcome that. And we have to say De Cesaris did that in a time in wich only the first 6 drivers at the end of the race could score points so keep that in mind. Besides mechanical and electrical retirements were pretty common back in those days. De Cesaris scored with Alfa Romeo, Dallara, Brabham, Jordan, Ligier, McLaren, Rial, Sauber and Tyrrell. So that's 9 different constructors. And it could've been 10. In 1986 he drove for Minardi-Motori Moderni wich was by far the worst car that year. Andrea ended up in 8th position at Mexico with that piece of shit of a car. In the current times he would have catched some points with that final P8. On his entire career he drove in 10 different constructors. Many other great driver also drove in a variety of constructors. Chris Amon in 14 different constructors. Trintignant and Johansson in 11. Stirling Moss and Ickx in 10 like Andrea. But the only driver in the whole F1 history to get points in nine different constructors is De Cesaris. Truly amazing.
@@ernestomartinez4090 very interesting. I knew that Andrea had a tic but wasn’t aware of the diagnosis. Very impressive record, thanks for sharing. I always considered him very quick and didn’t like the bad rap he had with the press. I have a nice photo of him driving the Dallara on my IG account my_racing_stuff. Thanks again!
@Rob Hurley great footage, Facinsting, I loved every minute! A great era in F1. I'm must say that I find F1 today quite boring, too advanced, sterile. I maintain 85-95 were the best years of F1

and Japanese too when the Honda and Yamaha engineers arrived
Very nice to see Andrea De Cesaris on this footage. He ended up that nightmare of race on third position. RIP Andrea De Cesaris.
I always liked de Cesaris. I have great video of that race, some I consider my best to still upload. It was a wild race!

I agree with your comments. It’s really too bad Formula 1 has fallen so far.
My words 🙌
I miss Brabham with BMW Power and Piquet / Murray
I was on my way to this race as you were filming this on Thursday, Fantastic weekend (execpt for all the rain) !
True, but that rain made for a wild race!
I miss Brabham, coolest car combo: Murray, Piquet and BMW was the best ever.
Cheers from Switzerland
Thanks from the USA! I agree, those cars were beautiful 😊
Very , very excellent footage , thanks
Thanks!!!
priceless
tnx
You are welcome!
@Rob Hurley QUESTION: how did you manage to get so close? Thursday's were relaxed and you could just walk in?
Yes, Thursday’s were open to the public and you could walk in without a pass if I remember correctly. At a minimum, you just needed a ticket.
When you upload the race day? Thanks
Soon I hope. Thanks for asking - I’ve got 4 really good videos left from 1989
No Osella 😭😭
Soon…
And then Prost had to retire on a engine failure. After a strange guy with a camera in the pits came very close to the car
