When collecting diecast cars, it is only a matter of time until you start buying displays to protect your models from dust. I have compared different individual acrylic display cases in the past here:
    • Reviewing 1/18 Acrylic...
But today, I want to show you how to build a 3 Tier Display Cabinet with LED Illumination:
    A) without having to use complicated tools
    B) without having to buy and mount aftermarket LED strips
    C) without having to spend a lot of money either
    4) the panels are plastic instead of glass but they are just as transparent, much lighter, and wont shatter if you drop them by mistake.

I have two such cabinets now, the one in white I had purchased a year ago on modelissimo for the same price, but it is slightly different in that its rear panel is also transparent instead of being mirrored like on this black one.
    Pros:
    - price
    - transparent panel quality
    - space efficient
    - LED lighting is cold and bright
    - USB powered, so no need for batteries
    Cons:
    - it's plastic. all of it.
    - USB wires could be longer

I´ve got 2 of those after watching the video and I must say Im very happy with it. The light is powerful and the cars look awesome!

Having used Mijo Illumicase+, sure the price can run high and comes with cheap plastics. However you get lighting for each model. In the Triple 9, the middle shelf lacks proper lighting. I would go for a custom setup with very good diffused lighting for my high-end models. However, for sub $100 I guess the Triple 9 is decent.

gotta say Triple 9 makes nice products but they should up the quality on the Acryl panels , i bought 4 cases & like 15 of the loose display boxes and i get a lot that are scratched or scuffed up

Are you sure you removed the protective plastic tape? That tends to look dull.

Very nice invention. Question: Is this type case available for an airplane? Say, F-14 Tom Cat.. 16x16x6.5..? F-14's are 1/48 scale.

Nice job. How much roughly does it weigh?? In lbs...

i'd say in its empty state, less than 4 lbs since it is plastic and not metal.
