- My time in Georgia is up, to renew it I decided to go to another Soviet country. In this video we will go to Yerevan, Armenia. As always, I will drink coffee, pat cats and dogs, hate Russia and use humour to cope. So let's explore the streets of Erevan and see what we will find!

Armenia is a landlocked country in the Armenian Highlands of West Asia. It is a part of the Caucasus region and is bordered by Turkey to the west, Georgia to the north and Azerbaijan to the east, and Iran and the Azerbaijani exclave of Nakhchivan to the south. Yerevan is the capital, largest city and financial center. Modern Armenia comprises only a small portion of ancient Armenia, one of the world’s oldest centres of civilization. At its height, Armenia extended from the south-central Black Sea coast to the Caspian Sea and from the Mediterranean Sea to Lake Urmia in present-day Iran. Ancient Armenia was subjected to constant foreign incursions, finally losing its autonomy in the 14th century CE. The centuries-long rule of Ottoman and Persian conquerors imperiled the very existence of the Armenian people. Eastern Armenia was annexed by Russia during the 19th century, while western Armenia remained under Ottoman rule, and in 1894-96 and 1915 the Ottoman government perpetrated systematic massacres and forced deportations of Armenians. The portion of Armenia lying within the former Russian Empire declared independence on May 28, 1918, but in 1920 it was invaded by forces from Turkey and Soviet Russia. The Soviet Republic of Armenia was established on November 29, 1920; in 1922 Armenia became part of the Transcaucasian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic; and in 1936 this republic was dissolved and Armenia became a constituent (union) republic of the Soviet Union. Armenia declared sovereignty on August 23, 1990, and independence on September 23, 1991.

I liked this video. Armenia looks fascinating. Love the big markets. Good to see you again.😊❤
What a treat to find a new video from you. I'm glad to see that you're getting to go places.
It always makes me happy to see your face and the quick moment of Natasha ! I'm sending positive vibes for you both from Connecticut U.S.A. Peace !
I love your sense of humor! Great vid. ❤
The dogs love you so much 😍I love your channel very informative with a bit of banter. All the best from Australia 😎
Interesting video. Thanks for sharing 😊. Hugs and kisses from Minnesota 😘
There’s something quite unique about your videos and personality. In a good way… Kinda sucks you don’t post more often.
Hope you have a good 24’ and that you remain healthy and as depressed as you need to be!! 😊
Well...everything I had to say has been said here 🤷♂️
I find your videos and insights, and voice compelling to watch/listen to 😁
You Rock....with a real 🪨...👍🏻🎊👍🏻
Good Friday evening from me in beautiful Dunedin, New Zealand. I just discovered your channel and you are beyond wonderful and delightful in every possible way. I hope you are amazing
Curious to see how Armenia celebrates Christmas. It's a Christian country so I'm assuming they have it. Maybe it's even better than in the West. All the best to you in your new country and merry X-mas already ^_^ 🎄
We celebrate Christmas on January 6. It is a religious holiday with no gifts. Christmas morning is spent at the church and the evening will be all about big family gatherings and dinner❤❤❤

Another super cool video, as always! Looking forward to seeing what you do next.
I always enjoy your videos. I Look forward to the next one.
I always enjoy your videos. Cheers from Austin, TX!
Thanks for giving a glimpse of Yerevan. Your short vacation seemed quite chilled, which is great. I'll now remember Armenia as a place to perhaps visit one day.
Your sense of humor is phenomenal...i liked the community post "to cheer up go outside..." I thought Azerbaijan was the russian enclave....i was never good with geography .
Happy to see you are safe and well and still have that sense of humor that l enjoy. Why do the dogs have tags on thier ears... "Always a good day when you can pet a dog". I hope you make a Holiday post , it would be nice , thank you and stay safe.
What a nice and entertaining Intro for a vlog!! 😗- a depressed Turkish guy
I'm glad you found a place that you miss when you're gone. That's a nice thing to have, especially when you haven't had it in the past.
It's beautiful there. The restaurant food looks delicisous. I think I prefer the food markets there over grocery stores here in America. So many of those countries have friendly dogs and cats on the street! Who feeds them? Also, I hope they have clinics there to prevent overbreeding. Glad you got you visa. Best Wishes to you in your travels.
I think citizens and municipality also, like in Turkey. They have a microchip on their ears.
Why are these Armenian street-living dogs so chill and friendly? Street dogs in other countries have a reputation of being aggressive and dangerous... Is it the Armenian people who are friendly to the dogs and treat them well? There is maybe a Life lesson in that... 🙂
I believe that it's mostly due to societal culture influencing their dogs. These are probably community dogs owned by nobody as well as everybody. The capitalist dogs are far more territorial and bark at strangers (who are nearly everybody not in their small friend-circle).
I love your videos. You should be the host of a regular TV show.
...... nice to see you, my best wishes to both of you....
Nice to see you again. "Seasoned traveller", lol Your sense of humour is very good.
The food looks amazing.
You've got an American accent with your English I would say. Definitely not a British one. If I saw you in Wisconsin I might almost think you were born here. Nice job. Enjoyed the video. You have a certain charisma and charm.
Good to see you again! Those markets are magnificent-ish! 😊
These are good videos. You all are doing a great job. Nice work
That Armenian cat with stripes was very cool.
Coffee, cheese, and the local booze. Those are the things I always seek out when travelling
Pls come to San Diego California, ill give you the best tour ever around the city ^_^
I love you.. and and have since your very first video.. i feel like you do but im in the U.S. in New England. Norther east coast. Soo cold. Winter and shitty weather 9 months out of the year...... its crap here. Small town. Nothing to do. Same ish diff day. Cold wet boring.. fml .. im bipolar... emphasis on the polar.. lol depression..
"Coffee in Countries." That could be a thing!
The first thing I noticed about Yerevan was how much better organized it was than Georgia - especially the traffic. I loved both countries.
Good news! Anywhere you go you can find coffee shops, stray cats, and bookstores.
Thank you for being a friend to the dogs.
💕 thank you
Nice to see you.
I don't like coffee. I like tea and how it gives you deep ancient wisdom. Coffee is good for sweaty armpit shops.
Missed you, eta grustna kak u mehnya ne tlee video ) da ploha paruski!
It’s a cool teapot I have to admit
Thanks! I was thinking about going to Armenia but I reconsidered after the recent news of conflict by Az, so it's good to see at least Yerevan is quite peaceful now. And might I say you seem slightly less depressed nowadays, is that progress?
Young, beautiful, intelligent, likeable and non straight - where will this precious human being Alena go?
Georgia actually looks very good already... a lot of nature and even wilderness, food (khinkali, Khachapuri, wine ...), mountains, sea... maybe Canada, the USA, or France or Italy... Armenia also looks good, but don't know much about it, thanks to you I know more.
hello Depressed Russian girl, glad to see your video again, I was following you since the beginning in Primorski Krai. I can understand your feelings, I hope Russians realise the madness that's happening in Avdivka Ukraine as hundreds of Russian soldiers get killed every day in a senseless war. If only humankind could go and explore the Moon and Mars and space instead of killing each other.. Keep shining that true Russian light, dear depressed Russian, hope things can change in Russia. Greetz from Belgium.
An Amish guy was beaten to a pulp by the feds. He had all 3 bones in his arm, a rib, & cheekbone busted by them. This happened in front of his wife and kids.He was so afraid of what they'll do to him in the hospital, or to his wife and kids at home he went home after being patched up.
Nice to see you again! 🌈❤
Nice to see another video from you
I don’t care about Kardashian girls You are the pretty one Take care young lady ❤
I always find the bumble coffee fascinating. We don't have this in Australia. Is it hot or cold?
Bumble(bee) has been very popular in Russia for quite some time. It's a summer drink initially, so it has to have ice in it. There's also a hot variety, though
Funny how Armenia looks Soviet and Middle Eastern (baklava etc) at the same time
Hi! You can travel in Serbia using your Russian passport with no problem. Greetings from Serbia!!! Keep working this.
Alena, If you stayed you could study, work and eventually collect your retirement as a Eurasian Union citizen since Armenia is in the EUAU.
Hi from Scotland 🏴
👍💐😍
Animals experience the world with their mouths bc they don't have fingers. So if an animal mouths you it might just be a form of communication.
Coffee and books..
Watching this reminds me of Tehran
Nice dogs what are the tags in the ears.
Thank you for this little tour of Armenia. I'm an American and kind of pathetically these were really the first images from Armenia I'm aware of seeing. I enjoyed that and your commentary. Also was curious about the numbers of seemingly homeless cats and dogs rather peacefully wandering the streets. Best of luck to you in all your endeavors.
I'm not so sure that these are "homeless" cats and dogs because they may just be community-owned Socialist cats and dogs with multiple castles and palaces to retire to in which they spend parts of their time getting a backrub here, a bone there, etc.
My son's cat was apparently such a community cat. (owning multiple humans)
Ahhhh, Socialist cats and dogs. That is the perfect clarifying answer. Greatly appreciated and thank you.
Good to see you're still with us Alena 👍🏻💜
Heyyyy great video!
I love your ironic observations about stray dogs & cats, and hanging garden cultural exhibits and strange food and coffee.
Please make some more short chilled out relaxing city vids like this when you get back to Georgia.
You’re brave and strong to leave Russia and make a new life for yourself at such a young age.
Peace.
It's not easy to look depressed on a swing, but wow, she really pulled it off. Still living up to her name, even when it looks like she might be having fun.
Maybe she's thinking of Russia where swings seem to be quite common.
Swings were time-shared in the district I grew up in: 100 cycles of swinging for each kid waiting in line. I was stymied because it was more like a wriggle to me: nothing to push against ! 😂 Here's why I appreciate having a Big Brother: push, push, more, more, higher !
Great to see you do a video. Next time Get a guide or friend to drive to some of the incredibly interesting sights in this country outside yerevan. Done it twice . Some Norwegian goes to Armenia Mountain hotel every year as its nice location . I preferred the medieval fortress ruins and the ancient religious sights . Some pre Christian too. Best of luck,
It would be great for Alena and Natasha to travel all over the world for their videos.
YAY…Alena makes a rare appearance! Also…’Hi Natasha!’ ❤
Haven’t seen DR for a long time. Hope doing well in Armenia, best wishes from Germany. Happy holidays and hopefully a better new year.
Спасибо взаимно!
Thank you for sharing and for all the pets! Glad to see you back again.
It's good you were able to visit another country. Maybe it will lead you to do more travelling. :) Good luck with whatever comes next for you.
System Of A Down members or (different generation obviously), Charles Aznavour would be much better ambassadors for Armenia than the Kardashians
I like the humour in this video, interesting to hear how Russians are living as expatriates, much love ✌️❤️🇬🇧
Emigrants
Great to see the channel growing, almost 50K ... keep it up. Lovely video today and I detect a much more cheerful tone to your voice. Very pleasing and a positive change.
yes i would also like the teapot to be coffee pot, and possibly with less holes :D
Cool! Love your videos. "Visa Run" sounds like a great title for a road adventure movie.
Thanks for sharing your experiences traveling.
I see cool street dogs, I click thumbs up. Nothing more is needed...
Finally a new video from you
Your English is very good 😀I loved all of the parks in Yerevan. One of my favorite is Vardanyan park. I am planning to visit Armenia in a few months then I want to spend a few days in Georgia.
I hope that you and Natasha come to the US, maybe to study and/or live /work
You call yourself "Russian" but you hate Russia. What's the point in all of that?
She’s not Russian, she was just born on Russian territory, that’s a big difference)
Sometimes it's much easier by simply conforming to people's expectations of you. Do you consider her as being Russian ? If yes, then she has called herself properly.
For me, different people call me differently but as long as I can handle the cultures and the languages, I just play along. I can be a different person, depending upon what environment I find myself in. "When in Rome, do as the Romans expect." 😊
@@solconcordia4315 she doesn’t try to be like a Russian, Russians don’t abandon their own and don’t betray their homeland)
I don’t know who gave birth to her, but definitely not Russians)
she fled to Georgia, which in 2008 provoked the war and lost it.

There is a phenomenon, when people do not like or even hate other people of their own kind. For example white people who hate white people and white culture. Jews who hate Jews. Blacks who hate other blacks. Also there are some TH-camrs from Russia who openly hate on Russia, and they did so long before the war. And this girl is one of them. I am just curious why do all these people have the words "Russian" and "Russia" in their channel names when they hate Russia so much?! Also it's kind of funny and very telling when a person who lives in Georgia and makes a vlog about Armenia still manages to shit on Russia several times in such a short video. But I guess these videos in general are made for Russia haters.
It's not rocket science Chuckles 🤡. There are many Russians that love Russia, but hate the government for the direction that it's taken the country in. Many Americans despised their country/government during the Vietnam War.
Hey, thanks for sharing your visit to Armenia in the way that you do. Somehow it is comforting - especially petting all the dogs and cats and just chillin’ on the swings and random shots and thoughts of common things. It just all feels peaceful.
Armenian cognac? I know a cognac producer who would faint watching that. 😂
Greetings from "somewhere" in the North Atlantic ocean. Good to see your channel grow. Your irony works well.
It never ceases to amaze how well you speak colloquial English. And prospective congratulations on your imminent 50,000 followers. Brava!
Nice video, i am intresting to visit Armenian. Somting i need to think aboat?
Your dry sense of humor makes your videos.
>land of cardashias
Wtf?? I feel shame for assosiating Armenia with that
Depressed Russian always makes me happy
Always interesting Alena. I enjoy your sense of humor, your excellent english, and your honesty.
How much you earn from making these nonsense videos ?
Love your sense of humor. Hoping you upload videos more often.
Your Russian passport will get you into other former Soviet republics. Would love to see you do some of the stans. 👍
It’s very surprising to see how many of the signs and labels are in English. Santa Fe restaurant in Armenia is very curious.
Espanski como extrano
Santa Fe caught me by surprise.
You are a very nice person. Stay safe and keep traveling! Respect from the USA
Love it as always. And oddly, I do get some sense of Yerevan from just a few clips.
Interesting contrast of dog phenotypes there. A lot the ones shown in Tbilisi looked mostly alike.
Thank you for your honest comments. How can we support you?
Nice to see you again, I wonder where you had been.
Beautiful ❤ Armenia nice vlog 🎉 watching fr Jamaica 🏖️
Why do stray dogs have tags on their ears? Are they spayed/neutered?
Armenia 🇦🇲 looks nice! The Food looks incredible! Peach’s filled with Honey? I never heard of that but I’d like to try it. You didn’t seem excited about the food so I guess you’re not into it like I am.
That’s a lot of stray Dogs. 🐕 That’s a bit sad. They liked you though. Would you adopt one or two?
Thanks for the video!
Take care over there. 😊
Good to see you back
I really enjoyed your video. I'd love to have some Armenian cognac. You're very funny and Natasha appeared to be pleased to be in your video. Thank you. Cheers.
