    I went through stage 4 cancer treatment 2 years ago. I've decided to crochet an Afghan for all 8 of my family members. Something I'd like to give them to remember me by if my cancer comes back. I'm using this pattern for the one for my sister. Thank you.
    Update: started this with red heart boutique in meadow and it is coming out beautifully. It's very simple, but I can never remember how to end or begin the rows, so I refer back to the time stamp links in the description box. Thank you very much for including that.

    Oh my gosh, I thought I was the only one who was like that. Like you, I go in guns blazing, super excited, then 15 or 20 rows in I get bored and have to put it down. Until I got stitch markers and the idea to label them, I was constantly having to frog out my projects because I didn't remember the hook size, or sometimes the pattern. As bad as I feel for you, I'm glad I'm not the only one LOL!!! Have a great weekend Robin!

    I saw your blanket and love the stitch. I am making it using mandala Bebe yarn which is a light dk 3 in multiple colors. It’s going to be a car seat blanket even thou I wanted to do a crib size one, but I am doing a hat and booties set in the same color of the car seat blanket. I also try doing 4-5 different projects and sometimes forget which pattern stitch I was using for the projects and have a hard time finding either the video or the written pattern, 😂😂. I get bored working on one project and start looking for something else to make for my grandkids who are in ages 17 months old , 2 years old and 4 years old and one on the way in October which will be the car seat blanket for. I will be watching more of your videos and will post the finished projects on your social media. Thanks for sharing and a great teacher too.

    You sound exactly like me….I never knew that there was actual word for it..lol…now I don’t feel so bad knowing I’m not the only one. Lovely blanket, can’t wait to get started on it ….but as for finishing it…..well that will be another story entirely. Here goes nothing.!!! Fingers crossed I will get to finish this one before boredom sets in. 😂😂 🤞🤞

    Hi Robin
    I'm the same way! My thing is blankets, mainly baby. I tend to make them to wide though and it takes FOREVER to finish, so I get pretty bored with it. I actually have 5 blankets going on right now and I'm trying my best not to start the 6th... this one! That's also not counting the other WIPs😁
    I always get sucked in with the "fast and easy" blankets. You would think that I would have learned my lesson by now! What's fast and easy for the person that's going the video, it may not be for me.
    Thanks for another great pattern. Now I want to do a larksfoot and this stitch😍

    Robin, I mean this in a nicest possible way when I say..." you are making me crazy with all of these wonderful pattern ideas." Ha ha. I truly can relate to your going gung-ho with a project and then getting bored with it. Seems many of us have that problem. I would like to say that your video teaching style is very helpful and your camera work and showing where things/stitches go is darn near perfect. Your enunciation is wonderful. I say that with the utmost sincerity, because I have been a medical transcriptionist for 20 years, and I know only too well how hard it is to listen to someone who isn't clear and concise in their speaking. Much obliged. Keep up the great work. Crochet on!

    Aaughhh. TH-cam stop recommending me more stitches!!! I have about 9 random swatches of different patterns and projects just hanging on hooks or clipped off in my yarn bag...
    Aaaaand here’s another little swatch that I’m pretty sure will end up as another thing on a hook.
    “Startitis” indeed.
    Seriously though, this is lovely and easy to follow so thank you.

    Oh I really like thism I think I'll use this stitch for my parrot's night cage. I didn't want to use granny because the gaps can be a bit big, but I like that these are a bit more condensed so he will keep warmer but still get fresh air.

      @HookedbyRobin  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      What an awesome idea! How long have you had a parrot? Are they hard to keep?

    • @luciferfaust
      @luciferfaust 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HookedbyRobin I've had him since May, he's 20 years old. He is an African grey. Parrots are a mixed bag. He's not hard to maintain--clean cage twice a week, give healthy pelleted food and veggies, give clean water--but birds are very smart and can get bored. That's what most people don't expect when they get a bird.
      They are essentially like 2 or 3 year olds. They need a lot of toys and stimulation, they will destroy said toys if they really like them, they repeat their favorite sounds a lot so you better get used to stuff like "BORT!" if they decide they like that sound... lol.
      Plus, since they are so smart, they are also very behaviorally diverse. My parrots last owner was a male so me being female, he's not that into yet, and it's been months. It can take years. Their body language can be hard to read and I've gotten plenty of pretty intense bites from the rehome learning curve.
      He's an entertaining companion, but he's also a bit if a jerk sometimes. I think I have a video of him trying *big key word there LOL* to take a bath in my uploads. Parrots make "feather dust" and I have to spray him with water every day because he doesn't take baths himself often.

    • @HookedbyRobin
      @HookedbyRobin  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      He sounds very similar to me! 😂😂 I think I might have been a parrot in a past life LOL!! I'm off to find your video of him! 🦜 *bort* 😂

      @@HookedbyRobin I feel you. Now that it's colder he needs a cover even more so I'm HOPING I'll be able to stay focused and whip it out in a few weeks. His night cage isn't very big, so I should be able to do 1.5x2 foot panels, which will help with my focus

    Love it, thank you so much! I have some Landscapes, Scarfie, Unforgettable waves , etc. that I have been wanting to try with a shell type stitch. I guess scarf and hat sets are in order. Your “startitis” tickled me as I am very familiar with…..love grandkids’ projects, because they’re smaller and I can get them done quicker. Currently have two adult sweaters (knit projects) sitting on the table that are in various stages of completion, doubt they’ll be done anytime soon ~ like not til 2022-3? 😜😂😊

    I'm terrible at keeping count, and i was using the worst type of yarn, so i used stich markers every start of a cluster in each row. It definitely helped even if it looked really silly

    I love a combination of video tutorials and written pattern. Since I couldn't find a written pattern I cobbled together one from the notes I made while watching your wonderful tutorial. Perhaps they'll be helpful to some else as well. Errors are entirely my fault. When in doubt refer to the Robin's video tutorial.
    Wheatsheaf Stitch
    Chain a multiple of 5+2. Pattern is a repeat of Rows 2-5.
    Row 1
    In 2nd CH from hook, SC.
    In next CH, SC.
    *CH 3, SKP 2 CH, SC in each of the next 3 CH*
    Repeat between *s until you reach end of row with 4 CH remaining.
    Work last 4 CH as SKP 2, SC in each of last 2 CH.
    (So this row begins & ends with 2 SC, while the middle portion is CH 3, SKP 2, 3 SC.)
    Row 2
    CH 1. Turn work. (This CH does NOT count as a ST.)
    SC in first ST.
    *In CH 3 SP, 5 DC.
    In 2nd SC of row below (the middle ST of the 3 SC grouping), SC. *
    Repeat between *s until 2 ST remain following a 5 DC grouping. Place a SC in very last ST. (There is no 3 SC grouping below.)
    Row 3
    CH 3 (counts as a HDC & a CH 1). Turn.
    SKP 2 ST.
    Place a SC in next 3 DC ST of row below. (Of the 5 DC shell cluster of row below, you’ll SC in STs 2, 3, & 4.)
    * CH 3. SKP 3. In next 5 DC shell/cluster, work a SC in STs 2, 3, & 4.*
    Repeat between *s until final 3 SC group is done. Then, CH 1, SKP 1, HDC in very last ST of row.
    Row 4
    CH 3 (counts as first DC.) Turn.
    Work 2 DC in CH 1 SP of row below.
    SKP 1, SC, SKP 1. (Simply place a SC in the middle ST of the 3 SC grouping of row below.)
    *In each CH 3 SP, place 5 DC ST. Anchor each of these shells with a SC in the middle ST of the 3 SC grouping of the row below.*
    Repeat between *s to final CH 3 SP into which you place 3 DC ST to end row.
    Row 5
    CH 1. Turn.
    In each of next 2 ST, SC.
    *CH 3. SKP 3. In STs 2, 3, & 4 of the 5 DC shell below, SC.”
    Repeat between *s to ending with SKP 3 and then work 2 SC ST (one SC is placed normally but the final one is made into the top of CH 3 turning CH of the row below.)
