Yeah that one is upsetting.
I have smoked for 22 years.
It's literally my medicine, I consume one ounce of herb every three days.
I have been smoking long enough to have extremely limited symptoms.
I'm not slow, I don't get hungry or giggly.
No one ever even notices.
So for me to use my 308 after smoking a bowl is literally less impactful then if I were to chug a redbull.
Now most people don't consume pounds of herb but still. It really doesn't debilitate people who consume it daily.
Not arguing in favor of using guns while messed up, but again I take ADHD meds and meds for my damaged nerves. Both of which do FAR more to me physically and mentally. And both DO NOT void my rights to own and use.
But the herb does. Go figure
I worked at a gunshop as a salesman. The only time I refused a sale is when a couple came in REEKING of weed. We had a firm rule about that.
No way they have to censor the word "gun". I mean, you will hear swears, slurs, and more, and none of that is censored on TH-cam

When I lived in north mississippi in the late '00/early '10s my local gun show had to refuse gun sales all the time.... to federal informants. Because the presidential administration at that time decided to target the legal sale of an imported type of russian shotgun. This shop happened to be one of the biggest sell of this shotgun. The admin couldn't get motion on banning it with legislation, so they chose to try and catch one of their sales persons not following the rules to the letter and get them shut down by the ATF. Don't think they ever caught anyone breaking the rules, although the store did change owners but still exists under a new name in the same spot to this day.

There is. In some states (including my own, you can guess that based on my name), there's a waiting period (three weeks, I believe), and a mess of background checks and other stuff. And that's for long guns. You have to get training and a pistol permit or CC (concealed carry) permit, both from the sheriff.
Edit: I don't know about second-time handgun buyers, but I know if you have the CC or Pistol Permit, you don't usually do a background check.
As for suppressors, they're legal through the (very unconstitutional) ATF. If you have an FFL or other such permit from the government(unconstitutional), you can own machine guns, SBSs and SBRs (short barrel shotguns and rifles, respectively). You can also own AOWs and DDs, those being Any Other Weapons and Destructive Devices.
And by the way, I'm not pushing a political agenda, at least not in this comments section. I'm just pointing out what violates good old 2A.

My dad who got a felony in the 2000’s wasn’t allowed to have firearms. He had bipolar, and suicide tendencies. And shot himself in 2019 with a firearm he purchased via a straw purchase.
Take a shot (no pun intended) for every time a straw purchase tries to happen

As a non-American born in an African country where no civilian is legally allowed to own weapons and living in a European country with very strict gun laws, where I have never seen a real gun in life, even on the police...I cannot relate. Wow, America...you are in your own universe.

I blame the media on all of those nutty people walking up and expecting to just walk out with a gun no questions asked. Late night talking heads and activist pundit have given people a wildly inaccurate mindset of what it takes to get a gun legally in the USA.
Reminds me of a story I heard about a while back. There was some reporter, don’t remember the name or the site he wrote for, who wanted to do an expose’ on how easy it was to get a fire arm in America. Guy walked into the store with a hidden camera, did the forms, and was denied a purchase for weed charges he had when he was a teen. Can’t really remember what happened afterwards but I think that reporter ended up doing a piece on the BS gun laws in America!
The US needs a national gun license, we all need drivers license for cars, why not gun license?
Cause driving is a privilege that you need to earn. The ability to defend yourself is a right.
That being said gun safety should be taught in school and if you refuse to properly learn then yes your legal ability to buy a firearm should be taken.
@@person55632do you hear how distopian this sounds? Right to defend yourself does not mean you HAVE to have a gun. Not a single country in the world has “gun safety” as a part of their high school curriculum
The idea is: if licenses are required everywhere, then the govt. knows exactly who owns guns. If the govt. were to become tyrannical in the future (which is the reason for 2nd amendment, self-defense is secondary) then it would be easy for this govt. to seize most guns. However, many states do create licensing laws or mandatory safety classes. In some places like California, legal gun ownership is very difficult. The federal government mostly stays out of gun regulations because each state wants to do different things.
As with most political topics there really isn't a great solution. Either you prevent harm while also preventing good, or you allow both.
I support neither the Texas approach, nor the California approach. I'm not sure where I draw the line.

I live in the States, and the gun laws are absolute crap. In my state (South Carolina), a law was just established that you don't need a permit for concealed carry anymore. I wouldn't recommend going to texas either.
