I wish every older Ski Nautique had someone like you to find them and bring them back to life. They are truly amazing boats and become life long passions for many people. Your kids will remember this boat forever.
I owned a Ski Nautique back in the 90's and it was a blast! If you take care of it it will take care of you. Mine never let me down over the 10 years I owned it. It will provide many memories of your kids growing up!
We had a 79 ski nautique that my parents had when i was born in the 90's and we bought a 94 sport when i was about 10. We got rid of the 79 and my dad found it 15 years later at a consignment dealer. It was in really rough shape because it sat outside and he wanted 5k for it. I went and looked at it and all the freeze plugs were out and every summer I'd have the dealer call the guy and try to buy it. After about 4 years i finally talked him down to 2k and i was gonna pull the cash out and the dealer called me and told me that he didn't have the title so they couldn't sell it. There was a bunch of old paper work when we owned it that i wish i would have kept. Anyways it's always cool seeing someone restore them! I bought another 79 ski and my dad has a 83 ski and my older brother has a 2002 super Air. Nautiques are awesome boats!
Just bought a friend’s 96. I knew both previous owner’s. Low hours (460). Interior and exterior immaculate. Sitting up for 4 years so dumped all fluids, new batteries (I like 2), new high pressure fuel filter and fuel relays, gassed it up and hit the lake. Fantastic hole shot and over 50 top end. Love it. Dennis on Lake Austin.
Dude you and Rebecca did an absolutely PHENOMENAL job restoring this!!! This is my dream boat too. Love the yellow and grey. Reminds me of my old Diamondback mountain bike from back in the day!
Man!!! that was dope!!!, when you accelerate, uuooooHHHHH the best sound a ever hear, thanksss for sharing and take care of here, is real nice boat!!!!
Great job she looks awesome. I have a 1993. Just had the interior redone. Now working on the gel coat. Thank your wife for the magicEzy tip for the hair line cracks. I am gonna try it on my 93. I also restored the trailer last year. Hopefully by this summer all will be done and she will look like when I bought it new in 93. Thanks again for the video.
Yes, I need to work on the trailer this summer. That spider crack fix was great, though it did wear a little over time. She will likely touch it up again for this summer. I just picked up an 86 and am going to make several more videos for it so make sure you're subscribed.
Nice job. I’ve got a 1986 or so sea ray -open bow 18 1/2 foot and it looks like brand new. It’s been well-maintained. Love to see old bolts put back together again
Love this so much! 😊❤️👍 You and your wife are amazingly resourceful and diligent. (Not to mentioned obviously wonderful parents.) Congratulations on a richly-deserved end result dream boat. (I’m in the process of possibly buying an 89’ 2001 Nautique with about 650 hrs on the motor and a brand new transmission. Definitely getting inspiration from your efforts here.)
Fantastic restoration on that Natique! Crazy how much that yellow pops now that you wet sanded and used compound. I will be tackling the same thing but on a 1993 Excelle SS20 Ski Boat this winter into the spring 2021. I am hoping to create some TH-cam videos along the process.
I am looking for my first project boat and this gives me a lot of hope! I do not envy you doing this down in Florida having to deal with saltwater damage and everything. Hope you love the boat it looks great!
I have a 1990 SN which needs some cosmetic restoration and enjoyed this video alot! Please post more if you do any upgrades or custom work. I like the accent colors in yellow and grey too!
Had an '81(!) - took AMAZing care of it! But enuff about me! Freakin' AWEsome job Bruva!-!! WOW! You and your wife, are an AMAZing team!-!! 🥳😉😎🤘! Stay healthy 💪 all - 😷🙏!
Beautiful!!! You guys did an amazing job!!! I taught water skiing at a summer camp back in the 90’s and got to drive a brand new ski boat each summer. The 92 SN was by far my favorite. So good to see a 92 in such great shape!
We have an 84 that’s needs much of the same cosmetic work. Interesting how much they changed between 84 and 86. Plastic seats is huge. Ours are wood and I had to rebuild most of them. Plus very heavy.
BEAUTIFUL: great job on the resto-project!! I own a purple '93 (same boat, basically)...absolutely LOVE it! I have redone my interior as well (of course in purple & it turned out as well as yours). I did that years ago, as well as added a really nice stereo w/amp & sub (just for a lil' thump, nothing obnoxious). This last year also did a full engine "once-over" tune-up, replaced my steering cable (huge difference), & will be refurbishing/replacing gauges this year. Sincerely appreciate the tip on the MagicEzy Hairline fix product, I've got those damn cracks scattered around in various spots in my top cap of the hull, never knew what to do. I run a fly-hi pole for long-line footin' (no tower for me...personally I don't like the look of towers on this model, but also don't want to put holes in the fiberglass), without the pole, it is such a classic, clean look; and my primary passion is slalom, so it cruises the factory look most of the time. It was great to hear this was your "dream boat"...my purple one was mine as well, only this model of boat came out when I graduated high school! For slalom, trick, barefoot: this is a really tough boat to beat (w/the right prop). Congrats, I sincerely hope you enjoy yours as much as we've enjoyed ours!
Y’all did awesome on it! We’e looking for a nautique right now and have landed on a GS22. Unfortunately the market is crazy right now so we’re not going to buy one until after the season, but my dad always had one of these as a dream boat and would still buy one if he could
Awesome!! Great Job!! Did the same thing to a 84 Eliminator Comp Ski had it out this summer but have to replace the deck this winter and the interior then it will be done .
I'm just getting started I sold my 1986 ski nautique years ago . I found the boat again and I purchased it but it needs to be restored. You did a great job I I hope mind turns out half as good. Research and getting new skins did you get yours from Christie's? See you on the water my friend there's nothing quite like driving one but sking behind one's even better. I'm too old now damn I had a great time. Bought my first ski nautique 1979 I was 23 years old had one ever since. In 2018 I sold my 1986 my wife cried I had just had my third surgery I don't know why I sold the boat it was starting to deteriorate because I couldn't take care of it. Thanks I really enjoyed watching your video throws a little more spring in my step. The nautiquecowboy Rides Again. Lol
Epic boat, one of my best friends hade a grey and yellow ski-nautique from the same hull shape that we used to wakeboard behind. We did not have the GT40-engine though. I must have spent thousands of hours behind and in that boat..
I wish every older Ski Nautique had someone like you to find them and bring them back to life. They are truly amazing boats and become life long passions for many people. Your kids will remember this boat forever.
Thanks so much!

Thanks for sharing. I bought an 02 Air Nautique a couple years ago. Good boat.
Great job! It's a shame folks leave old boats outside for the sun to destroy. You brought this one back to life! Great color combo.
Thank you.
@@ericvalentine3166 Hi Eric. Im just starting the same project. Can i write you directly for some help?
Yes, I'm happy to help.
Man the bigger shame is missing a set because you didnt have the energy to wipe it down and tarp.
No better color combo for this boat. Whole family and friends helping. You are a lucky guy. And u got a really nice looking boat too. Enjoy it.

I had a 93, and It was an AWESOME boat!
We just acquired a ‘94 Mastercraft that needs some work. These are fun, fast boats! Yours turned out beautifully!

It was pretty neat to see your wife get involved in the restoration, an awesome duo!
Appreciate it.
Dude you and Rebecca did an absolutely PHENOMENAL job restoring this!!! This is my dream boat too. Love the yellow and grey. Reminds me of my old Diamondback mountain bike from back in the day!

Awesome job! Hope the kids are skiing this year!
you had me dying when it cut to you riding the boat in a lawn chair hahahaha
Right? That was my favorite part of the video and you're the first person to say something about it in 50,000 views. Thank you!
I just picked up a 1990 Supra Sunsport and I am going to fix up the gel coat. The previous owner had already done the interior. Fantastic job!
Incredible job by you and your wife!
Thanks for sharing,
DC

Absolutely gorgeous. Was not expecting those results!
Honestly, wasn't expecting these results when I bought it either. Makes for a great project.

Thanks. Thinking of doing the steering cable this year. I agree, you just can't put a tower on these boats...
Y’all done a fantastic job
That is great. I have a '98 sport nautique that is getting a bit rough. I think u may have inspired me to bring it back to New.
Plenty of videos of what to do (or not to do) on this channel.
Hell of a job. Well done!
My neighbor has a very similar boat that is 100% original and in perfect shape.
Y’all did awesome on it! We’e looking for a nautique right now and have landed on a GS22. Unfortunately the market is crazy right now so we’re not going to buy one until after the season, but my dad always had one of these as a dream boat and would still buy one if he could

There's no greater sound than the 351 idling in a ski boat.
@@MakeSkiBoatsGreatAgain honestly
Put a push button start that is activated by the ignition button on the dash. Prevents broken keys and tows.
Happy for you.
Nice Dad 😃 It is so much fun

Awesome!! Great Job!! Did the same thing to a 84 Eliminator Comp Ski had it out this summer but have to replace the deck this winter and the interior then it will be done .

Jolie restauration, great family job
You did a damn good job on that boat!
Appreciate it!
Awesome work
Great job guys
Well done!!
I remember our first ski nautique. I swear my father spent the first week just showing people the full speed 180 degree turns. Hahah.
Those were always fun when you had a guest who didn’t know that was possible
very nice job
This is super cool !

In the middle of one myself, but a bass boat instead. I guy can dream.
Good job mom and dad. Your wife rocks
Have a 92 ski supreme. Solid old girls
Sexy boat. I was fortunate o have enjoyed growing up behind a 1984 blu star Mastercraft.
Me too... Best boat ever.. Class of 84
Wonderful!!!
Epic boat, one of my best friends hade a grey and yellow ski-nautique from the same hull shape that we used to wakeboard behind. We did not have the GT40-engine though. I must have spent thousands of hours behind and in that boat..
Thanks! I don't know if I'll be able to let go of this boat now.
Hope you checked the stringers ? that year had wooden ones and they rotted pretty bad.
Great job!
Hit that gelcoat with a wool pad and rotary style buffer if you want to really get some shine out of it.
You must not have seen the wool pad in the video. I didn't go into any detail on that but it was amazing what it did to the gelcoat.
I love this so much. I have a 92 red and charcoal. Can you give me some tips on some deep gouges from the dock and how to diminish the scars?
Amazingly, this boat came with zero scratches/gouges. It was all oxidizing issues.
Awesome job on the resto! Not my favorite color, but it turned out looking great!
Thanks!
Hell ya bro! Congrats
Appreciate it!
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
