I’ve been using old plumbing fittings for my restoration work for years but never thought of making a pill container. Due to my health I have a lot of medications I need to store somehow when travelling and this will fit the bill. Same lathe as you have too.
Nice project. I love your lathe videos! As a medicine student with no prior experience, but a newfound interest in machining I have learned a lot from you.
Maybe if you ask nicely, Steve will show you how to machine a ball and socket hip replacement out of scrap Titanium, that'll put you way ahead of your competitors. ☺
Your always giving me to many ideas. Now I must make some of those for Christmas gifts for my Irish/American nephews. Great job! Thanks for another entertaining video. Your a real craftsman!
@@SteveJordan That would be great. Thanks for your timely reply. I look forward to seeing how to make the tool. I enjoy all your videos and anxiously await each new one.
Love it - great recycling Steve! I found an old insect spraying device made of brass, at a local tip shop, and there are bits and piece of brass tube and rod and so on. I will have to clean it up (make it safe to handle) and make up something similar. Thanks for the idea.
Hi John, Yes I made a mistake on that one. I didn't want to retake the part so I just included a correction in text at that point. Thanks for watching. I have another project like this coming up. Regards Steve
A good way to align parts in the chuck is to put a suitably sized piece of flat, I use HSS blanks, between the face of the chuck & the part, bridging the bore between the jaws... tap the part in , tighten, then slide the flat out... works every time !! 😎👍☘🍺

I can't wait to try this on my small Chinese lathe just got it going.
Clever how you used a ball bearing to round over the edge to the coin. That is a new one on me and I'll have to make one up. Thanks for the tip.

Hi Steve
Your mini lathe runs smooth, must be best one on TH-cam.
Very nice indeed, Steve. I'll have to make one as a keepsake for a special someone and I've got just the coin for it. Thanks
Hi Dave yes they make excellent presents. You can also choose coins that have date significance for someone. Regards Steve
Nice job and a good way of using up bits of old brass plumbing parts enjoyed the video, atb John
Those are nice looking pill boxes. I’m definitely going to have to try this. Thanks for sharing.
Nicely done! Interesting trick to use plumbing parts.
Steve could this be mounted in a collet?
Gotta try this with a John Kennedy coin. Very nice job !
Cool build! Thanks for the share
Love it!! Would you show/tell how you made the ball bearing swaging tool. I can't seem to get my mind around how to make it.
Hi Douglas, I will see if I can do a video this week about the tool, as I don't think I showed how I made it.
Regards Steve.

Hi Steve. The picture is a Irish stag not a reindeer. Great idea, it could be used to store earring ect.

What the coins?
great project and video!
Brilliant. No-one would suspect its humble origins!
Good job
Beautiful! Coins for the win. I'm wondering if someone with your skill level has ever played around making hobo nickels.
