Wow, such a great video showing the versatility of the gravel bike! I'm tired of people saying that gravel bikes are just a marketing gimmick! They should watch this! If wasn't for gravel bikes I would not be able to ride drop bar bikes without breaking them (I'm too big)! They're great fun and good partners in just about any terrain! Good job fellas!
The tarmac of most cities is in such a terrible condition most people need at least 32mm tires to ride on them. Road bikes are nice and fast but freedom, comfort and safety are much better. Plus you can always have a racing set of wheels for tarmac.
Superbe vidéo, ça fait saliver d'envie ! J'attends justement que mon Gravel Grinder acheté en pièces détachées soit monté - si tout va bien, d'ici deux jours.
4lchEmi in the us, an omnistrada from bikes direct would be about $500 USD and can take much worse than this. (I know because i have a $500 turino (omnistrada with wrong wheels) i take when my girlfriend rides my cannondale slate.) everyone else rides a mountain bike. I think other than weight/fitness, I could ride the omnistrada on any trail I’ve ridden my Slate on, and a number of them have been IMBA black diamonds. In the video, most would be greens, with a couple maybe being blues because they are so narrow. Really the only things that bother me about riding a cheap gravel bike off-road is the lack of a clutch on the rear derailleur and the disc brakes not being fully hydraulic if the descent is long. One thing to remember is even an entry level gravel bike ($500 retail direct, $700 retail if name brand), is better constructed than mountain bikes of the early 1990’s. The trails have not changed much so with a little skill, you can ride a gravel bike up and down pretty much anything, and even someone of average skill can do most mountain bike trails outside of a resort.
Still can't see any advantage to a gravel bike. My hardtail MTB can do all that. Lock out the fork and it's the same. Unlock the fork and it's better. My prediction is a new generation of gravel bikes with suspension forks.
Really different feel, and not talking about suspension. They're way faster, and because of the short handlebar turning is different. While on your MTB you'd want the best traction possible, you don't really want that on a gravel bike, at least on gravel/loose rock dry descents. On that kind of weather I reduce pressure on my front wheel but keep it high on my rear so it can slide. You control the turning with your body rather than the handlebar. You also have to go faster to be able to sort of "ignore" the harsh terrain, instead of going slow and careful. To sum it up: MTB are all about traction, suspension and jumps/drops and can get through the rough terrain slowly or fast (in descents). Gravel bikes are all about speed, and you MUST go fast in order to ride through difficult terrain. Sure, you can jump, but it's a lot harder on your body, and the technique is different due to the height of the seatpost and handlebar.
Great video of gravel biking and awesome scenery!
Awesome video, I love watching riders pushing gravel bikes to their limits, it’s amazing how versatile they really are, I do the same type of riding

Probably broke that bike in the first month!
You could also try to lose some weight

Attendons confirmation
Cool video, make more
Hi. How much does a gravel bike need to cost to not be damaged by this kind of bumpy tracks? Rocks etc..
Thanks

Gg easy nobs
You call that a gravel bike? 28c ish tires? Alrighty then
Origin slick tires 32 on all the video and CX tires 35 (when I ride with a short)
Абсолютно ничего такого, чего бы нельзя было сделать на ХВЗ-туристе, даже на сликах.
oui, bah c'est juste du vtt !!!
