Thanks to 'lockmania' for this lock. The combination lock mechanism cannot be tensioned as no resistance on the wheels can be felt when pushing the button. However the wheel's gate can be visually recognized or detected with a feeler gauge (made from a plastic bottle). This will reveal the code and the lock opens. But the worst part is the TSA007 lock that can be raked open with just a pick - only 3 wafers and bad tolerance do not hold very long.

The lock on my luggage (which seems identical to this one) makes a very clear and distinct sound when the wheel is in the right position. Nothing to pick, to decode or to tension, just turn the wheel and listen : tok, tok, tok, tok, TIK. It is even faster than entering the code.

my brother gave me an old backpack of his that has this similar lock, but without the tsa keyhole, didnt remember the code, so this video helped a lot.
It's funny that these locks only seem to be effective to keep the owners out of their own suitcases because for any thief, picker or govt employee these locks are a joke.

i can say this locker is a very good option, not only "better than nothing". This locker is not against thieves , this type of locker is against unzipping the luggage during handling. Anyhow, the clip is very useful.
This worked. Used the plastic thing, found the gate and moved 1 number at a time to the left til I found the right combo at the 3rd number to the left.
Excellent detailed video! The 007 TSA key must be the most popular on the planet! The easiest way to defeat any zippered luggage is to attack the zipper with a ballpoint pen. 👍
Except for bags where the zipper ends attach into a lock built into the bag itself. Samsonite do this. So, even if someone gets into it via the pen through the zipper method, they won't be able to close it. Which means, you know they'd done it.

Just happened to my wife....left one place and when she arrived at the home airport, the combo was changed. No doubt some lackey baggage handler.

Yes all the tsa keys are known and 3d printed models available. Stupid idea that they would be a secret for all times.
