I’d say Game 4 of the 2012 World Series is a forgotten classic. Yeah it was a series sweep, but game 4 was genuinely a good game and it went into extra innings. Just a suggestion.
@@adamduerwachter2596 been proven many times before, but none were better examples than this. This was literally the perfect roster construction, and all these guys going on to sign big contracts makes you respect their development, although it would've been cool if some of them besides salvy stayed in KC.
My Mets were well on their way to winning this series 4-1 but instead the bullpen and defense died in games 1, 4 and 5 and they ended up losing by the same margin. But for real the Royals were amazing that postseason. Especially coming back vs Houston in the ALDS.
This series capped off a wonderful two years I can only pray to experience again. This game showed a lot of what the Royals could do, and I loved every second of it
World Series starting pitcher's father dies a couple hours before the start He doesn't even know his father is dead but everyone in the stadium already knows First pitch the home team sees is an inside the park home run Broadcast goes out for a while because the power goes out but the game keeps getting played Four lead Changes spread throughout all 14 innings Game was 14 innings and lasted five hours and 9 minutes, at the time was tied for the longest World Series game of all time Alex Gordon, the number 8 hitter, ties the game on a straight to center home run off one of the best closers who hadn't given up a run since July. This is, dare I say, the best and most overlooked and epic world series game of all time.
Loved this vid as royals fan. Good to see all the boys together again. All of those dudes were apart of my childhood and i think this series is what made me truly love baseball. We always sucked growing up with billy butler, but then this happened. It sucked to see everyone go to different teams besides gordo and salvy.
The 2015 Kansas City Royals: One of the BEST Cinderella Stories in the MLB this past Decade. PERIOD. Featuring one of the BEST World Series Speeches that SINGLE-HANDEDLY PISSED OF THE ENTIRE COUNTRY OF CANADA - Jonny Gomes, the Former Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Brave!
This is probably the most underrated World Series of the 21st century so far. It was an absolute classic, but everyone just remembers it as the one that the Cubs were supposed to win. Smh
I remember some of the classic comments throughout the series in Game 2 when Jacob DeGrom was having troubles and it was like a tap that wouldn't stop dripping. And Game 3 when there was that impression of Thor "My name is Thor. You will swing and miss."
My husband and I were at this game. KC fans. Last minute outfield tickets (beneath Fox broadcast booth) that cost us a boatload of $$. Best spent $$ ever. What a night. Cold & damp. Game ended around 1 am. Got home to central KS about 4 am. Still have video of game winning hit on my phone.
@@gananjajukus5027 lmao Mets fans ain't obnoxious. We're just depressed people who get constantly disappointed after getting our hopes up. At least tell me that Yankees fans are worse.
So for those who don’t know: during this game there was a technically issue with FOX’s broadcast which resulted in the connection being lost. As a result they had to use the MLB International feed for the US broadcast for a short time while they tried to fix it. That’s why you hear Matty V & John Smoltz commentating for a few innings.
I always think what could have been had the Blue Jays not stranded runners on second and third in the ninth inning of game six of the ALCS. Do they win the game? Do they win game 7? Do they win the Word Series? Shit makes me so sad
Well I think it would have been Johnny Cueto and Marcus Stroman on the mound for Game 7; with all hands on deck. But that offense was 0-for-15 with runners in scoring position. If you're a Jays fan you know how effective they are with RISP its like a black hole sucks in all the batting average numbers.
The 2015 royals is the most overrated championship team ever. They win because that mets team had a terrible defense and choke all the series like always. The 2015 cubs or 2015 dodgers would have won easily
I get where you’re coming from, but even if the Mets definitely choked, doesn’t change the fact that the Royals capitalized on that and got hits and plays when it mattered most. They were consistent, and outplayed the Mets
I'm sure Mets fans (including myself) want to forget this one, sorry!

Must be tough being a fan of the worst team

Aberlope what? How are the Mets the worst team?
PAIN
This World Series proved that the smaller makret can compete with the big market squads
That has already been proven many times before

Royals had a higher payroll but go off LOL
Which one is the small market
@@pugz01234 At the time both teams where small market squads. But now the Mets have the richest owner in baseball as of May 19, 2021.

As a KC fan, that Gordon home run is top 3 sports (baseball AND football) moment in our city’s history. Just incredible.
Just post the whole series and say its a forgotten classic.
Lol
As a Royals fan, this was very much not forgotten for me
This World Series officially made me love this sport
This was one great series.
This is probably the greatest five game World Series ever
Felt like a seven game series with all these extra innings😂
Well I think dodgers and yanks was better…
This series capped off a wonderful two years I can only pray to experience again. This game showed a lot of what the Royals could do, and I loved every second of it
This game was forgotten about the outage from the fox production truck for a few innings
This is definitely one of my favorites in recent years. A job well done once again!

Harvey throwing the first pitch to Escobar right down the middle could have been the dumbest mistake of the series

Absolute chills on the Escobar inside the parker. That’s baseball right there.
Gordon’s homerun was a gigantic momentum shift and one of the biggest home runs is WS history for a winner

I will not forget this game, mainly because Edinson Volquez’s dad passed away earlier that day and he pitched this game without knowing.
Anyone a Mets fan and is sad they lost? Any one?
I still hate the bullpen
Don’t even start lmao
Guess what? Colon is coming back to the Mets for one more year :()
No thank god the Mets lost, it helps shut their obnoxious fans up

Curtis Granderson was killing it this World Series
0:30-0:52 the entire Mets franchise summed up in a single play
I used the patreon link, thanks so much for the amazing content!

for a series of 5 this series was super underated Game 6 blue jays vs royals is forgotten classic too
It hurts still I really need to see the Mets win soon to feel better
Who would you like to see the Mets play against in the WS?

Mets had three aces in their rotation lol

I had absolutely zero recollection of Michael Cuddyer being a New York Met until watching this video!
Sad day when i see David Wright again
I feel so bad for Familia in this series. His only real blemish was giving up that finger by Gordon, the rest was just bad luck and errors.
Choker Armando Benitez 2.0
I forgot how good the Royals bullpen was. Amazing
Must've been a pain making this being a Mets fan huh
Thanks you triggered my PTSD
After the first pitch of the Bottom of the first you knew where that series was going
Was crazy seeing Dodger blue essentially in KC for a World Series
Forgotten? Lol this is the only Fall Classic I remember.
Must have been hard to edit this one up for u lol
i can’t watch this it’s just to heartbreaking for mets fans
Me watching FC#11: this was a really good series, glad it’s continuing

Mets still beat LA and wiped the floor with Chicago. It was just that the Royals were clutch. They did the same to Houston and Toronto.
