🇦🇱 DAVID’S BEEN HERE ALBANIA SHIRTS: teespring.com/...
My eighth day in Albania continued that afternoon in the beautiful city of Pogradec! Come along with me as I enjoy some Albanian koran on Lake Ohrid and visit Pogradec Beach and Drilon National Park in Pogradec, Albania!

My afternoon began on the white sand beach on the shores of crystal-clear Lake Ohrid in Pogradec. It’s the deepest lake in the Balkans and also borders North Macedonia.
My boy Erjan from Travel Media EU and I checked out the boardwalk along the beach and then headed to Restaurant The Change, a modern fish restaurant in Pogradec.
There, I met the chef and owner, Apostolos, who would be making a lake fish called koran for us. The restaurant is considered one of the best in Pogradec. They have a beautiful wooden terrace and the interior feels like you’re on a Greek boat!
In the kitchen, Apostolos made a modernized dakos salad with tomatoes, cucumber, oil, feta cheese, and a hard, Greek-style bread. Then, he made a second salad with spinach, arugula, pistachios, berries, raisins, and pomegranates. He also made an eggplant salad and the koran.
At the table, we had all of those plus tzatziki, fritters, zucchini fries. Apostolos also made some koran tartare right in front of our table! He cubed the koran and added ingredients like avocado, mango, olive oil, orange juice, and lemon juice. It looked unreal!
I started with the koran tartare with mayo on the side. The presentation was beautiful and it was so fresh, cold, and crunchy. The mayo didn’t taste like mayo-it was like a creamy, delicious sauce.
The zucchini fries were soft, hot, and lightly battered. The spinach and arugula salad was crunchy with a nice, fruity burst from the pomegranate. The pistachios gave it a nice nutty flavor. The dakos salad’s bread wasn’t as hard as it usually is because it had soaked up the oil. I lived it! The zucchini fries with the tzatziki was amazing, and the eggplant salad was mushy, fresh, and unbelievably tasty.
The feta phyllo rolls were similar to baklava with sesame seeds and nuts on top. They were so crispy and stuffed with feta. It was a nice balance of crunchy and sweet! We enjoyed some white wine with everything.
Then, it was time for the star of our lunch, the grilled koran with salt, pepper, and lemon. It was beautiful and reminded me of a less fatty salmon. The skin was super crispy and crunchy. It came directly from the lake, so it was super fresh! Queen Elizabeth had this dish and loved it! I preferred the tartare, but it was still fantastic!
To end our meal, Apostolos served us some of his father’s rakija. From there, we headed to Drilon Beach. On the way back to our car, we saw some people playing foosball. Then, we headed to the beach, where there was a long pier where lots of kids were jumping into the water. There was also a broken water slide. The kids were so carefree. It took me back to my childhood!
Pogradec is a summer city, so everything shuts down during the cold winter months. We drove 5 minutes to Drilon National Park, a beautiful natural area. There’s another, smaller beach along the way and a few restaurants.
In the park, there was a stream and lots of birds. We took a 15-minute boat ride with a captain for 500 lekes/$4.72 USD. You ride down the stream in a circuit. You can also stand on balconies on the shore and feed the ducks. It was so relaxing and peaceful. I even rowed the boat for a while! We passed some farms and restaurants. The air quality was so nice!

Albania is amazing. It's a jewel within Europe. It is first time someone foreigner has shown Albania in such a realistic way. Well done David!! I lived 4 years there and did everything showed by David.
Hope Albanians join Europe soon...
Hope Europe protect Albania from countries with bad or calculated interest.
All the best from France
The cuisine of Albania, in all places, was the absolute best culinary experience of my lifetime. I suggest Albania as a beautiful, fun, eye opening worldly trip. As someone who admittedly has not travelled much, it was life changing and the food is the BEST. Thank you for sharing! I enjoyed this fish in a huge stew. Best tasting fish of my whole life.
Thank you for bringing attention to our beautiful little country 🥰❤️🇦🇱 glad you’re enjoying it!!
🤗💕✨
Koran is so rare and they can find that only in 2 lakes around the world ..
Albanian food is delicious 😋
Albanian people are fantastic
welcome to Albania and have the fan of your life❤️🇦🇱❤️
Thanks for your videos bruh 👊🇦🇱
😀 Vaga legjenda 🇦🇱❤️
Hopefully it will last. It is so overfished and people are completely reckless that in the near future government need to put a moratorium for fishing as well

🤗 hello nga Florida! Love your city🥳
Looks delicious
Looks tasty 😋
I was born in Ohrid, Macedonia ... I miss it since I live abroad now. But many mispronounce the name. The H in Ohrid is pronounced... its not Orid .. O-hhhh-rid
I'm from Struga. I live abroad also. I love it other there. It's beautiful.
i noticed you have italitan hungarian heritage you should make a video in hungary man , Its really nice with great food and drinks
Koli is every summer there 👍
Great food !! I like fish !!
The skin of the fish before cooking looks attractively spotted
Man 10:44 you made me go straight to the fridge and do the same
🇦🇱💪🇦🇱💪🇦🇱💪
You deed not even had the nerves to comment on that shot 😅
I would love to eat there!
I can’t wait to go here but you don’t have to drink white wine with fish anymore. That’s kind of a mess. It’s really your preference. A nice glass of rosé would be delicious. The food looks amazing. The people are so beautiful just a beautiful place to live. I don’t know why anybody would ever return back to United States.
SAUDADE
Interesting Fun fact David. THIS place is where (SA NDER (LEKA) IS BORN) ALE SI ANDER, EMATHIA (ALEXANDER THE GREAT) Pela petredha. Petra Alba. Guri bardhe. THE TRUE( Pela castle) YOU SHOULD HAVE GONE and seen it. Shame no one outside Albanians knows it.
David is not interested in the Balkans bullshit rhetoric of the nationalists propaganda!
16:45 - only 15 minutes with me in a rowboat 😛
How on Earth you come from Miami, go so close to the lake and not take a bath is beyond me? That's the lake I used to splash myself every summer and just like those kids jumping off that bridge I used to as well. That lake is about 4 million years old and is heavenly. I have an advise for people with hair problems. You go in that town and spend 3 summer months on the lake taking baths daily and washing your head with olive oil soap (no shampoo of any kind) at the end of the three months you will notice a positive improvement on your hair guaranteed. That lake is a powerhouse of different kinds of minerals. Around Pogradec there are a number of minings located in various villages around the lake.
A little paradise and Koran is endemic ,it's so delicious
You should have choosen a tradicional restorant. Thats the most modern one. Also Pogradec has a special type of byrek called lakror.
Koranin tradicional e bejn me tave.Nuk esht ndonje gje e veçante.Thjesht korani e ben te rralle
@@illyriaillyria7950 Tave me arra ose i pjekur ne kripe te zeze. Thjesht e kisha fjalen te kishte zgjedhur nje restorant tradicional me gatime te zones dhe jo nje, gatimet e te cilit mund ti gjesh kudo.
There are more than 30.000 inhabitants in Pogradec so it is not that empty in winter. It’s just more slow but definitely things move in winter also. You should have found a better guide who really knows the city.
Now let’s see the other side of Lake Ohrid 😀
I'm from the other side. I'm an ethnic Albanian from Struga, Macedonia.
Those are sun flower seeds.
Thumbnail is too bad, Albania is good

Hard bread??? Isn't it called Croutons 🤔
No Albanian food here!!! Anyway thanks David for showing this!
No rakin in Pogradec! Muscat grape, or rrush muskat in Albanian
Nic bro
We like you david, you should apply for Albanian passport..haha!
@art cafe that's where you came from right?
@Moriarty we like him, so what's your point then?
😁
They should give him an honourary one for doing so much for tourism!
love form assam
Is Koran more like a trout?
Koran is the best fish out there, but so expensive because it belongs only to Ohri's Lake.
Its unique only in the oldest lake in the world lake baikal in north east of russia and lake ohrid and its like salmon without parasites of salmons and many nutritions less fat
🙂🙏👍
👍🏻🥂🍾🍷⭐️😗
Ma tu solo mangia la🤣🤣🤣🤣💖❤️
Greek boat or island ,why did you bring that up...
koran goot
David i swear Albanians speak better English than the guys in your videos 😂

@Ledi Shabani hahahahaahahah
Go actually see Ohrid!!!
its a lake traut xD
Its similar and we have also trout here in pogradec but its different from the red dots and black dots
CEBICHE IS NOT TARTARE!!!
How come you are not gaining weight!
The food all seems to be pretty keto friendly, maybe that's it, but he's young too. I know I certainly wouldn't be able to stop eating!
Honestly I am asking is this guy really doit a travel video like he did in India or is it a propaganda sales kind video.
I think the whole Albania is a paid up video with zero truth, he is a hungry person from USA who is using Europe to eat and earn and no truth in his video, drunkard, glutton and based on some previous video some lady in wait element also
No Albania it is real the places you see there are real .
Why dont you travel your self and see how true is this video and other videos he has made!
