I used to meet my beat friends brothers as they returned after 3 weeks or so What a hard life when you could actually come back and owe the owners money after experiencing the worst conditions imaginable God bless the lads that never returned
It will soon be Jan 31st 2020 and Brexit at last, let's hope we will then all see the docks refurbished, new modern safer boats and the fishing industry thrive and boom again in Hull. Especially the fishermen, God bless them all, those departed and those still risking life and limb to feed us - many thanks!
There is a huge divide as to what to do with the Lord Line building, i think there are more in favour of it being demolished due to the state of it sadly. Something could be done with saint andrew's dock though rather than just leave it.Jan 2020🙏👍🙏👍
@@paulcrisp9861 Yes, Manor Properties who bought the Lord Line building went bust 3 years later, but separate plans for flats and a restaurant & bar have been approved recently. Both are unnecessary there as the port and offices are commercial assets. Once we're out of the EU, hopefully our fish stocks will recover and the industry will pick up once again. Hull is in the right place for biz with the EU, so if all goes well with some government investment (as compensation for selling us down the river) the whole supply and service industries should also develop. It's going to take a decade or so, there's no quick fix but I'm an optimist.
Nearly jan 31st 2021and it's looking more and more likely the old ST ANDREW'S DOCK will stand there alone falling apart without been demolished. I cannot see any future effort to have the building removed for safety reasons, a real shame 🙏❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧
Hi! Is it possible for me to share this footage on my youtube page? I share footage from all kind of activities on our ocean. Cargo ships in the 1960s till now, oil rigs, fishing vessels, etc. Of course full credit will be given to the owner of the footage. Thanks in advance for your reply. Kind regards. Cheers!

We salute our war heroes and rightly so but now it's time to realise and commend the bravery and fortitude of these granite cast iron lads
I think I saw my Dad on the Kingston Jacinth as she was sailing
