  • During our trip through Italy, Ambra and I make a pit stop in the small town of Viterbo. We also make a day trip to Montefiascione, which was once the summer getaway for the pope's of Rome. These two towns are must see day trips if you're in Lazio. Watch as we explore small quaint streets, eat wonderful food and see historic monuments in one of Italy's most undiscovered towns.

I lived in Viterbo while I was there to study abroad, it was one of the best experiences of my life. And, fun fact, the building to the right of the papal church was where the cardinals chose a pope. But they couldn't decide at first, so they were locked inside and the roof taken off so the people of Viterbo could stare down and pressure they to pick a new pope.

I got to see a lot of this gentleman‘s face, cute as it is I was hoping to see more of Luciano Bonaparte days estate or the Etruscan tombs or some of the things that were mentioned in DH Lawrence‘s famous book about central Italy and Viterbo in particular. But at least I get to see his face ☺️ a lot.

Hello Kit, I live near Canino, where Luciano Bonaparte lived and where his tomb is. Luciano Bonaparte had a castle in Musignano; in his lands, he discovered wonderful Etruscan tombs like that of Francois. You are always welcome in Viterbo and Tuscia, where you can visit these extraordinary places.

That's awesome, I don't remember the specific name but the restaurant we ate at in the video was fantastic. It's a charming city center, small and quaint. Ask around, you'll have no trouble finding hidden gems.
