ayyyYYO! That "Mike T's Funky Scratch"? That has always been a fire, classic. Mike-T, what is the sample loop that's playing while Eiht rapped on that song? I can not tell you how many times I played that song. Me and my crew (in Bronx NY) was loving that unique Compton's Most Wanted Sound. You guys sounded so different from everyone else from the west coast.

How you feel when Tim Dog came out with the Fuck Compton song?

I loved it. The instrumental (the beat) was hard as hell and Tim's voice went perfect with the beat. I heard Fuck Compton a few months before I discovered C.M.W. Tim Dog dissed N.W.A. & DJ Quick the hardest on that album along with Kid n Play, Kwame, Young MC and a few others. Although Tim Dog's PENICILLIN ON WAX is a classic album, it never had any effect on my perception of C.M.W. because their sound was far different (superior) from any other west coast act at the time.

I remember being like 15 or so when I first heard of Tim Dog's album back in 94. It was kinda crazy. Thing is I'm from the West (live in a city near Compton). So I took it a tad personal yet not really. It was mostly satire. The shit was like low key dope in a way lol. I think thats how most people felt. Its like, Tim Dogs persona is kinda 'fake' know what I mean? His lyrical skills were no where near Rakims or BDK but in his mind he thought he was the shit. You hear Kool Keith saying the same in certain interviews.

Tim Dog's second album was pretty trash, however the first (PENICILLIN ON WAX) was great, many great songs on that album. It is a well known fact that 99% of all rappers fabricate their personas. After Tim Dog came out with Fuck Compton and then Penicillin On Wax (1991), I ditched N.W.A. but picked up Compton's Most Wanted.. and later DJ Quick. Compton's Most Wanted will always be the BEST rap group/crew from Compton as far as I am concerned.
