The Shape-shifter theory would be genius from the angle of it explaining not only the different handwriting but also the character assassination done to Chloe (a girl like her with her abandonment issues and maxed out loyalty to those that she lets in behind her walls is NOT going to be the one that leaves; nvm contacting Victoria). However that's exactly why I doubt that it will be the case, because Decknine thus far has only shown ineptitude and disrespect for anything related to Pricefield/Chloe/DontNod. From the start I was at the point of accepting that Chloe would have a limited roll, I thought that Chloe would be wrapping up things at their old place while Max went ahead to Caledon or that Max would finish her contract at Caledon to go back to where her and Chloe were staying. Never did I think Decknine would pull the garbage that they've pulled just so far and it was sooooo avoidable. Trial separation is a thing and could easily be put in from having player choice at the start over if Max fights for the relationship (separated) or not (full-break); put the actual leaving on the party that would do it (Max) vs. not (Chloe); axe the utterly lacking garbage romantic interests; focus on Max's trauma; then in the ending have a reconciliation between Max & Chloe where the events of Caledon gave Max the closure needed to be able to move forward with Chloe. Boom done, everybody is happy; player choice is respected; LGBT+ fans are respected (cause trying to invalidate a 9 year old LGBT+ pairing and shove in a shallow, femmed up, mainstream appealing new one w/ a clear tone that Decknine knows what's best and we the players are just immature and blind to want to choose Chloe ain't respectful at all); DontNod's canon is respected; characters are respected. Like even Michel has recently stated in a very diplomatic fashion that the Max & Chloe that Decknine are doing aren't going to be like his. As well as that Max & Chloe would NEVER break up, they'd have rough patches maybe even a separation; but they'd ALWAYS end up back together. Also reinforcing that LiS is a multiverse and each person is free to go down whatever branch they want; so I'm staying in DontNod's green-haired Chloe and Max main canon over Decknine's AU branch. I'd LOVE to be wrong and for Decknine to actually redeem this trashfire; but I don't have high hopes due to them making clear their not liking LiS1.
@@7hkey At this point I'd take any shred of correction or intelligent planning vs. flat-out ignorance of the characters they're trying to write about. There's also some plausibility to Max not noticing the different handwriting just cause we don't know what all the shapeshifting does exactly. Now I do want to reiterate that I don't expect Decknine to actually be playing this level of smart play; I really do think they're just this damn anti-Chloe and anti-Pricefield as an extension because they're in the mindset of a parent pulling a "You can do better than that punk (Chloe)" "We think you're better off with this handsome well-off young man (Amanda) instead." and don't care about player choice on the matter.
A sequel with Max AND Chloe should have been made years ago, shortly after the release of the original game, when sanity still largely prevailed among developers and publishers.
What a can of worms Deck Nine have opened! I agree Alex, I think the iconic lines will continue. I know I've said this on your other videos, but at this point I just want an appearance, a phone call or even a new text conversation between them to let Pricefield fans know that saving her wasn't completely for nothing. Because having them break up is one thing and it SUCKS, but at the moment, it seems to be the case that they haven't been in contact since they broke up. And for Max to be thinking about her this much and for what WE KNOW they meant to each other, for them not to be in contact AT ALL is ridiculous.
The only way I see the potential of d9 bringing Chloe in would be ("The Merging Moons Scene") to elaborate: If the (Two Moons) Indicate the two timelines are merging in on each other like the aforementioned possible apocalypse in this game & talk of it in Lis1, wouldn't that signify that in one timeline Max is still w/Chloe regardless of choosing bay over bae & viceversa. I say this bcuz if theirs 1 Max shifting between both timelines and possibly even a 3rd (given the polaroid timeline) that would allow an opening for a potential Chloe in one of these timeline(s) to still be in Max's life and it'll allow for them to share more scenes together without ruining either of the Lis1 optional endings. 2 further back this yet hopeful theory, would be the scene in which Max is catching up with Amanda at the turtle in the (Safi Alive Timeline). Amanda tells Max she basically ghosted for a couple days. Again, meaning there's only 1 Max, the other people who mention Max's disappearance are Moses & Safi. Also, when Max shows up to her home (in Safi Alive Timeline) she lets the player know "it looks likes she hasn't been home in a while" - I'd like to think the potential lies in the fact that if we think about Lis1, Max jumping into different photos/timelines makes her forget her choices & what happened in one timeline, so it could mean she forgot a possible Chloe is still in her life in the other, and she's been ghosting her all the while. - I mean the confidence the devs and writers etc. still have and are sticking by even with the backlash, makes me want to hold onto some hope for ep:3-5.... -Side Tangent: ON SAFI BEING A SHAPESHIFTER. - Is literally in the "opening scene of the game", , Safi seems to be literally studying Max's movements. Safi watches closely as Max climbs off the ladder and says- "Beautiful Dismount" without averting her sight and tilting her head on Max 👀. - might not be anything but ya never know....
The audio file is very clearly a nightmare sequence. This way, Chloe can make an appearance either way. It’s litterally max comparing safis relationship with her relationship to Chloe which could occur with either bay or bae and would be an important story note needed to have anyways
