Well I think in general, weddings mean different things for different people and I don’t see any issues with either approaches. First or not, for Amy it is a special day and she would like it to be memorable. Just because she was married before is irrelevant especially since she didn’t exactly have a pleasant split from her ex. When Rick's wife got ill with lymphoma, my friend was a huge help to him, her and their son. IT CAN BE DONE and it CAN still be a FAMILY.

All I can say is Amy is so controlling and demanding and just has to have her way. I don't know how anyone can think she was a perfect person in her marriage to Matt. As far as I'm concerned her spoiled personality contributed to her deteriorating marriage. Two stubborn people can live together, you just need to learn to give a little and it seems Amy does not know how to give.

I say this because my daughter's friend had parents( divorced) that in spite of EVERYTHING decided to still be FAMILY. When the dad remarried and had a child, that little boy had a room at his " honor mom's" house because he had a big sister! When Rick's wife got ill with lymphoma, my friend was a huge help to him, her and their son. IT CAN BE DONE and it CAN still be a FAMILY.
Yes, it is not easy, getting past the hurt is hard, but you have a TERRIFIC family, and despite everything, if Matt had something happen, you would feel that caring desire to help. So allow that. I know it is possible because I witnessed it and VOWED that should I ever be in the same situation, I would move mountains to be the friend, and a good one, to whoever my husband may choose. That person would have held my children's hands , too. If they had kids, then I wanted to be THEIR honor mom because of my children. The family may change, but it is still FAMILY.
