Great idea, but fitting airsoft gun internals to turret that would be even around there scale is bit hard and knowing these guys, they go bonkers and put them into main armament.. yeah battleships didnt use their main guns to shoot down aircraft. Some destroyers and maybe cruisers did have dual purpose main guns, but not battleships..

the difficulty to aim is actually a problem that the fighter pilots of WWII experienced. this is actually where the "dive" part of dive bomber comes from. you need higher initial altitude, and then when right over your target the entire plane dives directly towards the target. they can aim the entire plane at the target, release the bomb, and pull up. you should try this, because you'll find it's a lot more accurate.

You should make the battle ship guns real (BB) guns and do a naval to air battle. Better yet, make a carrier from which the plans can take off and land on!
That carrier would have to be laaarge but not impossible to make... Maybe they could also have first person view cameras on the planes to ease the bombing, have maybe 3 bombs on each plane if the servos allow, and yes, the battleship should be able to fight back. Also it would be nice to watermelon bomb the battleship, just to see what kinda damage it would make
They went one better than that if you look back in the videos you will see a helicarrier avengers style from a few years ago and they landed planes on it.
Wow! That was pretty amazing. Some of those near misses would likely have done some minor ruptures to the hull of the ship, not likely enough to do much during the battle, but enough to slow it down after the fact. The Corsair is my very favorite WW2 plane. I feel in love with that beautiful piece of machinery over 20 years ago after reading an article about it online. It is a marvel of engineering and performance, despite its quirks and difficulties. One was even credited with a kill using its massive propeller! This was a cool video, and I think that, with some practice, you will eventually be able to hit the ship with a bomb. I am going to check out the watermelon drop right now.
Bombing run far too shallow. Come in at an 80 degree dive via FPV and you'll hit it quite reliably. Also, I really need to finish my airboat project. Got a foamboard hull built, need to get a Cox 0.049 to power it and some servos installed!

If you come at straight 90 degree dive, wings loose lift? your aircraft becomes much harder to control and you cant recover from dive at all or much slower than with 80degree. Also you are still moving, so technically its less likely to AA guns to score a hit. You also gain speed from dive that accelerate dive bomb to penetrate deck of a ship, so detonation happens inside of the construction, causing even more internal damage and hopefully flooding, sinking the ship.

Glidebombing like armatures. 😂Try a sight on the front of the planes to line up the target for the bombing run. Divebombing is an art and this gives a great appreciation for the pilots. Bottom line is you guys had fun and we had fun watching. The last bomb run was definitely close enough to do hull damage.

FPV will make a huge difference. Also, yes, add arresting gear and make it a carrier. Anniversary of Battle of Midway coming up in two weeks, nice to add something about history.
Great vid only have 3 suggestions for the boat. 1 a keel, you were afraid of having wind issues, a slightly weighted keel would aid in this. 2 Angle the rudder fins closer to 45 degrees this would provide a more "realistic" movement for a ship where turning is normally done through a rear rudder. 3 if you plan to put this in rougher waters add a small pump in the hull to pump out any water leakage you might get while putting batteries on small platforms to keep them dry.
That ship is awesome! Next upgrade - rotating, FPV, airsoft/paintball turrets. Separate controller per turret, one person on each. Also a squadron of planes to shoot down.
Make bombers that fly high up and that drop watermelons while the battleship has multiple airsoft guns shooting at the dive bombers. You could also make a aircraft carrier and deploy intercepters to shoot down the dive bombers and bombers, I know it's a lot and a lot of people would be involved but I would love to see this
B-17, as part of their expert build line, yeah, sounds good. So does a B-24, B-25,early B-26, and even the He-111 and JU-88/Ju-188. Those last two might be particularly challenging to build with foam-board. I'd also like to see a mosquito. perhaps the build techniques might not be dissimilar to an adaptation of the He-111 (fuselage) and JU-88 (cockpit).

Hallo Flite Test. If u want reverse u can use an extra channel for a servo that will flip a reverse polarity 2 position 6 pin switch that you connect to the motor wires reversing 2 of the motor wires to change motor rotation. I tried it and it works but when switching between forward and reverse it works best when throttle is at 0 position. Your welcome. :)
a lot of early aircraft carriers where actually converted warships, so it'd even be pretty historical. a few strings with pulleys and rubber bands and you're good.

well not exactly. You are describing a stuka, while bomber in general went for a similar persuit as them.

The planes in WWII were dive bombers... come in steep, run the length of the ship for the drop. Perfect job for fpv.
Yeah, I liked the video but I was disappointed they didn't actually attempt any dive bombing, despite the title. The approaches they used would have been more appropriate for a torpedo attack, not a bomb. Still good fun.

If you going to work on Ships then learn the correct terms, Bow (Pointing end), Stern (back end), Port Side (Left Side), Starboard Side (Right Side), Screw (not Prop) , Ship (Not Boat). Landlubbers!

So if they are putting remote controls in floating objects. that are supposed to be copy's of actual ships.. they ought to use the proper terminology there as well.. and I say Bravo.. I would like to see more of boats and ships in their builds..

And there's many Messerschmitt aircraft. E.g the Bf-109, Me-262, Bf-110, etc. I'm assuming you meant the general Bf-109. I don't really think it was used as a dive bomber, though... Like the guy said, the Junkers Ju-87 Stuka would be better as it was a purpose-designed dive bomber.
A layer of fiberglass and some reinforcing in places and you'd have a great lightweight kayak :-)

Hallo Flite Test. If u want reverse u can use an extra channel for a servo that will flip a reverse polarity 2 position 6 pin switch that you connect to the motor wires reversing 2 of the motor wires to change motor rotation. I tried it and it works but when switching between forward and reverse it works best when throttle is at 0 position. Your welcome. :)
Or use the ESC from the grand tundra as it has already has a reverse function for the motor. You're welcome
Convert the ship to an aircraft carrier and land ultra micros on it
a lot of early aircraft carriers where actually converted warships, so it'd even be pretty historical. a few strings with pulleys and rubber bands and you're good.
