It’s an exciting time in your life with so much to look forward to! You are so smart to pass on houses with issues. Patience will pay off in the long run. It’s an arduous process, hang in there!
OMG I'm going through exactly the same thing! EXACTLY stuck in the same position. I youtube too and currently going round in circles buying/renting, london/northern! Hope it all works out for you! xxx
Laura Blair Same here, though I've been looking to rent, plus I can't decide if I want to stay in London (where I'm from) or move back up North (where I used to study or work.) The fact that there are a lot of dodgy landlords and estate agents doesn't help, and I'm self-employed so finding someone who will rent out to me is a challenge.
What a roller coaster you’ve been on-life crap is so stressful. But you’re so right, given everything happening-you are fortunate you went into house buying process smartly. You could have ended up buying a house with major problems that would drain you financially. It’s hard to be patient when you’re more than ready for the next step in life. It’ll happen Em. And it will be so wonderful when it does. It’s coming 😊

On the other hand I feel you looking up north ...thats the issue Im having at the back of my mind , the jobs I want to do once I graduate , a lot are based in London but going to try my hardest to get one up north in hopefully Leeds if not Manchester purely as I know in London Id never be able to afford to buy plus what Id get for my money in comparison would be crazy xx
I feel so late watching this but honestly em your positivity is amazing and so inspiring. I feel you on the whole house hunt thing, it definitely feels soul destroying at times and how costly it all is. One day in the near future you are going to be in your own beautiful house you own, settled in with your amazing house bits all in there places and it's going to be worth it and i can't wait to see that day come for you. You have a really great attitude! The Universe works in mysterious ways- I had a difficult condo situation last year but I kept up the gratitude and positive vibes and sure enough the situation brought me dream condo that had everything I’d ever wanted in a place and for half the price! I highly recommend the book The Power by Rhonda Byrne because it definitely helped me manifest my dream place. Great haul too! 💗💗
Hope you find a house soon. It is really a stressful process. I had mine built new and it was still stressful making sure the builders did things the way I wanted. Those inspections are a smart idea. It is always good to check with family, friends and work associates for any good homes they know of for sale.
Totally understand with buying a surveyor. We didn’t because we were buying a 9 year old house and we were told not to with the house being under 10 year old. We wish we did. We had to folk out for new windows and floorboards. I wish you all the luck in the world with buying your first home, it’s very stressful but honestly when you’re in, it’s the best feeling ever! X
Just be careful...I found out the hard way that the oils and perfumes and some candles will go off and unfortunately they end up going in the garbage...at least mine had to....I was just gutted because I had saved up for ages and I had something big keep me from moving into my new place and well all that money I wish I had back! I just hope and pray and doesn't happen to you! So happy for you and looking forward to seeing your new place! Xxx

My partner has a job in London and commutes on the train with it only being a couple of hours and he says it’s totally doable! We bought a new build here at the end of 2016. I hope you get sorted, I’m a stop believer in good things come to those who wait! 💕 xx

Aw thank you - yeh it’s just 20 mins from my family home and I regularly (at least once a week!) do the York to London commute :( just sick of it as have been doing it for years and kinda wanna live in London as it’s just sadly where my job and industry is and usually it’s night events! I spend more on trains and hotels than rent which is even more frustrating! Honestly no idea what to do haha! Xxxx

Sophie Allan yeh I think it’s a well-being stuff! I literally live out of a suitcase and on trains and in hotels! I need my gym routine, a place to call home and I’m done with carrying bags around and catching a 6am train! Have to leave my home at like 5am as my family home is 30 mins from any train station! I live in the middle of nowhere hha! Plus yeh the expense of the trains and hotels is more than rent! So kinda done with this commute I’ve been doing since I was about 18 haha! Xxxxx

Have you looked at the costs of living in Yorkshire and commuting to London? Maybe it would be cheaper in the long run for you? I do really love London but it's just so expensive down there
I have indeed and it’s much cheaper to live in Yorkshire but I’m so sick of the commute :( it costs me thousands a month to commute and also for my wellbeing it’s just exhausting! I adore Yorkshire and wish my industry wasn’t so london centric! Xxxx

Same thing here in the US trust me. Can't get a home without a proper Home inspection. If it doesn't pass the bank won't help you fund your home ( home loan). I feel bad this has happened to you, but know the right one will come along and everything will fall into pace. Say strong and positive. I don't know how far Yorkshire is from London ( guess I could google) however I would commute by train. It seems alot of Europeans do that.

They went through a lot finding their house but they ended up with the most beautiful home so you just hang tight. Something good is coming for you and Matt cause you two have worked so hard so don’t worry. It’ll happen! Love all the things you bought for your home. I know it’s going to be amazing. So funny that people get "outraged" or judgemental over your 30 second homesense video-why do people basically expect others to consider " world poverty " or other huge issues before selecting products- like when they are picking out mugs, or silverware or ANYTHING is their first line of thought- " well, SOME people can't afford this so, I'm not going to purchase this.,." most likely not, so why the heck do they expect you to do so when you're selecting items.. super ridiculous! Anyway, I've basically been obsessed with rose gold (currently looking for a rose gold phone case that has like a mirrored finish not a matte finish- been searching forever, don't have an iPhone and it's been hard to find one for my phone style) Love the look of rose gold and marble together- would be cool if you had some more accent pieces like that little lamp that had rose gold and marble as well. Super video! BTW you got me hooked on Jo Malone candles!! They make such a great gift and the scents are sooo.... orgasmic...lol...So thank you!! Best wishes on your search for non molding, non wood rot living space!!! 😀

woooo buy in Yorkshire :)))) York is only 2 hours (more or less) from London on the direct train. Home is where the heart is :)

Don’t buy a house in london! That’s crazy! Not worth the money. Buy elsewhere that’s a nicer location and get a better deal on a better house
