Great Video as per usual!! Would you consider doing this but with One Direction Fans?? It's another very dedicated fanbase and would have hit potential :)
I’m a huge Swift fan but totally disagree with Orin. Role models should be criticized. Celebrities should not be idolized and given a free pass just because they speak out when it’s convenient to them. Props to Charlie for being so honest. That was brave.
Shoutout to Jon for representing the fans who just like an artist for their music. Remember, just because you don't know everything, go to every event, or listen to every song doesn't mean you're "not a real fan."
No? That's just the media's view, give me a clear example of how her fans just chilling and supporting her are cult like, for example, kanye west's fans act more cult like.
This is insane. I love taylor swift & her music but it seems like they genuinely think she can do no wrong. And the way that they brushed off the palestine issue & carbon emissions was crazy. Telling the mole “you’re so passionate and I love that for you but we only care about Taylor” was insanity.
no one thinks she's not wrong. obviously she's part of the problem with her private jet. doesn't change the fact that she's not even top 30 on the list even after having the biggest year, and those 30 people have yet to receive criticism for it. people make think pieces and made Taylor a punching bag for her private jet every single day, yet not a single voice is raised against Travis Scott who's number one and Beyonce
@@myAchillesHeel I agree with what youre saying as well. I think that celebrities have been using private jets and taking short flights out of convenience for so long (kylie jenner, mark wahlberg, floyd mayweather) yet she’s the only one who is being hated on to this extent. I also do think that most of the people who are hating on her often dont care about the climate crisis but want a reason to point at her and say “look, this is why we should hate her.” But I also do think the people in the video brushed off her very real wrongdoings way too quickly and that they didnt acknowledge the very real problems that are caused by her actions/lack of actions.
@@tropiquiss but there's a line. tracking her jet to tell the world where she'll be? line crossed. being excited and politely asking for an autograph and/or selfie from her? that's fine
Chrystale feeling rage inside as the person talked about Taylor Swift not speaking on Palestine FOR Taylor swfit and not for the victims..speaks volumes
Exactlyyyyyy! and the fact that she said taylor could talk about it quietly?? like no, everyone knows how much political influence she has even with the voting thing. she cant even manage a simple "ceasefire now"
but you need to unerstand than taylor is a big deal and she cannot just come up and support palestine like that first thing its not her duty and you CANNOT hate her for that so many ppl already support palestine but still wasnt able to do anything
Orin reaction to Charlie speech is why I think some taylor (celebrities fans in general) are so futile. They will care more about their own parasocial relationship than actual real life problems
What's even more concerning is they'll care about whatever their favorite celebrity tells them to care about and they'll take the side that their favorite celebrity does without doing any of their own research. That's far more concerning

I'd rather believe those who say nothing are just ignorant/ignoring the issue than to think they are well aware of what's happening and in full support of the genocide. 😔 I think the truth is that Taylpr probably doesn't want to "pick a side" because she sees it as a two sided issue, and that's an ignorant take since, like I said, it's genocide. It's not a nation vs nation war at this point. Never really was..
That pissed me off so much just the general disregard for the people suffering from genocide when if taylor can be used as a tool to help elect biden then she can be a tool to uplift Palestinian voices and spread awareness of the crimes being committed against these innocent civilians
I literally rofl'd when Orin said "we're focused on Swift being a role model and uplifting and people knowing their voices are heard, rather than fixing global warming and war in the Gaza Strip"
As a Taylor Swift fan, watching these people flippantly brush off whatever wrong Blondie has done and continues to do is so infuriating. Like 'silently support'??? What does supporting quietly do?? That was such an unintelligent thing to say. Then the audacity to feel rage over it ?? I do not believe that you can be a fan of someone if you are able to block them from criticism that could ultimately make them a better person. This is why no one likes swifties.

Cringed when they defended her private jet use because "other people are doing it too" and she "rents out her private jet". IT DOESNT MAKE IT ANY BETTER. This is coming from someone who flew to another country to see her live
But she needs it to get around, and her safety takes priority. She can’t drive with all the stage equipment. And she can’t get across the ocean. And it would be really really dangerous for her to not fly by herself. Don’t buy tickets and waste your time if you can’t even defend her safety.
She has no other way of getting around. Also, she has done lots of work to reduce her carbon emissions as well, and isn’t even on the list of the top celebrities jet usage.

Honestly that’s how I’ve seen majority of swifties act like especially on Twitter. Orin is one of the thousands that have that mindset and all just to worship Taylor Swift. (Not saying all her fans are like that but they has been way too many toxic Taylor fans and it’s the fact that she doesn’t call them out which also bothers me)
orin says they shouldn’t bring up the palestine genocide in a room filled with swiftlets but then proceeds to say taylor swift is a role model and allows people’s voices to be heard?? lmao what??
I don’t care about celebrities making a statement but it is kind of awkward that Taylor Swift made a whole documentary about being political and an activist and then dropped that
She's only vocal about it when it benefits her. Everything she does seems performative but Swifties eat it up every time. And this is coming from someone who's been a fan of her music for 10+ years.
she like most celebrities who are "political" are just catering to their audience, I dunno why people still for this when its so obvious🌚just like people who used to think Ellen Dewhat her face was "political" or "decent" tbh. If a celebrity was really political they would talk about something not many people know that actually impacts them or take a stand once in a while against the popular opinion -_-
Orin is an example of what happens when top artist don’t want to talk about current issues. When it’s all about the music they influence you to have the mindset of “let’s just not talk about this and ignore and keep living our privileged lives” while they keep making money off of you.
while I do agree with what you"re saying, I don't know the impact Taylor could have in these topics like the Palestine stuff. Absolutely. I’d still like rock but at least I’d gain immensely more respect for her if she used her influence more. She could literally change the world..
On the flip side, I come to Taylor Swift to sing and clap and be entertained. She doesn't exactly have the best track record for speaking out on political issues (she kinda made her coming out in support of LGBT about herself in a way). the last few minutes actually PROVED why taylor needs to speak up about palestine because if a majority of her fans are anything like the ones in this video, they will switch their beliefs from whatever they had before and do what she says, and actually worry about real life issues like a GENOCIDE rather than their own twisted parasocial relationship with her.

Genocide involves intentional and systematic violence targeting specific groups of people based on their identity, while global warming is a complex phenomenon driven by human activities like burning fossil fuels and deforestation. By that logic, why does the YNTCD music video exist? Why did she vocally talk about the bill she sent to the white house? Why did she make a song called "Only The Young", which talks about injustice and how corrupt the government can be?? Also, what Orin said is so... ew. What do you mean we are more focused on Taylor Swift than the issues concerning other people, especially when the issue is genocide?? Being a swiftie is not an occupation, it should not disturb you from speaking up on injustice. And about her solving all the world's problems, who is expecting that?? She has influence, and she can do so much with it. Like someone mentioned, many voted just because she talked about it on IG. Why deny that she has that power on issues such as this? Putting genocide and global warming in the same category is kinda crazy
Frrr
Why tho?
why
@@hhellyxoxo Comparing global warming to genocide, such as the conflict between Israel and Palestine, is highly inappropriate and problematic. Genocide involves intentional and systematic violence targeting specific groups of people based on their identity, while global warming is a complex phenomenon driven by human activities like burning fossil fuels and deforestation. Equating the two minimizes the gravity of genocide, which represents one of the darkest aspects of human history, characterized by mass atrocities and profound suffering. Additionally, genocide is a crime under international law with identifiable perpetrators, whereas global warming does not fit within the legal framework of genocide and lacks intentional human agency to the same extent. Such comparisons risk diverting attention and resources away from the urgent need to address the root causes and consequences of global warming, hindering efforts to combat climate change effectively...
@@blackhartz0wait I'm so confused on your point. Genocide is horrible and indefensible but so I'd global warming. Especially because both come from the same root cause of greed and capitalism. I'm just confused on why you think they can't be compared when they're both horrible things that are happening today.

She's probably not allowed to. Yes, she could probably try, but her publicist probably doesn't let her. People need to realize that most celebrities are basically puppets and if they're told not to do something that might jeopardize their career, then they'll probably listen.
Ok Charlie talking about about her not speaking up about the genocide happening in Palestine is the best part of this episode.
Why? Why should she? Why should she speak out on either side? She stayed out of it, and that’s what she needed to do.
The conflict isn't black and white. She would be causing lots of arguments and hate by choosing a side publicly.
@@elephant1871um why wouldn’t she? she has a huge platform that could help raise awareness and donations. staying silent while a genocide happens isn’t the ‘win’ you think it is.
@@lemmonaadeexcept the fact it is, it is genocide, Israeli "civilians" putting up tents in front of the border and protesting against humanitarian aid entering gaza (not that all israelis support this), where plus 30000 people are confirmed dead. Orin saying that he cares more about Taylor Swift uplifting people who’s voices aren’t heard was probably the most hypocritical thing he could’ve said…the whole problem with the war occurring in Palestine is the fact that Palestinians are being cut off from the world and slaughtered silently if you have as much influence as Taylor you should advocate for what you believe in and her saying absolutely nothing says volumes about her beliefs and morals
And if she does speak up then, the community of people for the Jews are going to hate on her for choosing a side so. 😬

As a swiftie, I 100% agree about what Charlie had to say about Taylor and Palestine and it BOILS my blood when I see other swifties talking about how it's not her job to speak up, or that she can be supporting quietly.
Again, I love her music SOO much and adore her lyricism, but I cannot make excuses for her on such stuff. The reason why it disappoints me so much is because she herself painted her image as a person who speaks on injustice. She made many feels like she cares. Well, apparently, not enough to speak on innocent people dying.
