JC, I take my left over shrimp and dead shrimp at the end of the day. I will peel them, cut them down to tiny peices, and throw them in a zip lock bag of salt. Leave the bag unzipped until your next fishing day. Then you will always have free bait for pin and pig fish. I can leave it in my tacklebag and it doesnt go bad because its salted. I have very very good luck using it, and have found it lasts on the hook way longer than fresh because the salting process makes it tougher. Cheers from Vero Beach buddy!
@@william9922 his cast net method puts the net in your mouth as you throw it. Watch his previous video. However someone suggested that I get wooden teeth that can float. I will see if someone can carve me a set.
Salted squid works quell combined with Fish Bites. My PB Bull Red was caught on that combination. NOTE - I SALT MY OWN DEAD BAIT. I don't rely on pre made crap. I rather do my own because I don't cut corners and I choose my own salt and method.
Thanks for the video. If that’s all you have it works but a Sabiki rig baited with a small bit of squid tentacles catches 3-5 at a time. Also once you catch one simply leave the fish in the water until you fill the hooks.
I use long shank #8 hook set up just like yours. I use chicken gizzard. Cut it in a long triangle shape, hook wide part of triangle past bend of hook, then hook point of triangle on point of hook stop 4ight on barb. Sounds complicated, but really isn't. The pin fish will always grab that pointed end of bait first. The gizzard is real tough and stays on hook. I have caught 12 pin fish on same little piece before.
JC, I will definitely try your 2 or 3 hook setup next time I go after pin fish. I have used size 8 circle hooks with great success. The hooks are a little hard to find but are worth it because you don't miss those quick strikes on the drop. Gamakatsu, Owner & Eagle Claw make a size 8 circle hooks.
They are some of my favorite bait… mainly because they are bait stealers… lol but ive turned around and used them to catch trout… snook will hopefully be in my near future
J C you forgot to mention after catching your supply of bait after catching them with the salted shrimp “fill bucket with more water before transport” because they will thirsty as heck after those salty appetizers!!!😂🤣😂
Hey I’m visiting Orlando right now and will be traveling to Miami/Ft. Lauderdale for a week. Do you have any charter boat suggestions for 2-3 people? I saw your charter boat video where you kept getting tangled with the other 80+ people how’s was that?
Oooooh Hey Skipper is going to be disappointed to hear that! 🤣 Fresh is always going to be better...but I'm surprised Pinfish can be that picky...they usually tear up anything. I catch them with frozen squid as well. Looking forward for the Snook footage!
@@moblack5883 haha yeah...I followed him and Erin for many years and I only bought the squiddy bits one time...and they work and lasts a long time...but not recommended for like good quality, bigger fish.
I know how to catch pinfish. Be a novice fisherman like myself on vacation in Florida and try to catch pompano shore fishing. You’ll just catch a bunch of pinfish. 😂 Oh, and some sand perch.

JC I'm always amazed you don't have like a single cab truck with a camper on it. Would be the Rad Reeling Mobile.

YOU'RE A GOOD TEACHER, I ALREADY KNEW THIS STUFF BUT I GOT A FEW GOOD TIPS FROM YOU, THANKS
I like this method better than cast net. Won’t have to worry about losing my dentures. Thanks for doing this video for me.
Why would you lose your dentures?

@@mikedobro2838 oh I see, throw it without using teeth. That’s what I do.

Hey JC.... Can always count on your for sensible vids about fishing. Gonna sit back and enjoy. Thanks for that.
In galveston I caught a bunch in my minnow traps and got a 5 inch one used it for live catfish bait and caught a 4 pound hard head catfish

I always use my old torn up gulp shrimp. Cut them up into pieces with my scissors.. for my rig I use torn up sabaki rigs that have a few hooks left.

In the bay I was using salted squid and caught 4-5 decent sized pinfish, could've gotten more if I had the right hook.

Mustad makes a stainless steel circle down to #10,C71SSS.I use them on my 10' and 14' jig rods for Gills and Sunnies to use as Catfish bait.

Thanks for watching. I don't have any suggestions. The party boats are always hit or miss.
And great videos like always.

I noticed the package too. I've been wanting to buy some just to keep dead bait on hand whenever I see a road side ditch.

I couldn't get the pin fish to bite the Salted squid, totally surprised me.

Will your snook fishing with those be off the beach, from pier , or from boat?
