I'm building what looks like a really stupid combo list with Ketramose. There are three artifacts that exile cards you discard automatically (Currency Converter, Containment Construct, and Bag of Holding), and they have a broken interaction with Ketramose and Skirge Familiar (2/2 for 4B that lets you discard to add B to your mana pool). With all three combo pieces out (Ketramose, artifact and Skirge, or Ketramose with a counter if your Skirge is exiled to Soul Cauldron), you can discard to add B and draw a new card when the discarded card gets exiled, thus you can loot 30+ times with this loop to find combo pieces to play with all the mana you are creating. Basically, you pay x life to add x black mana to your mana pool and loot x times, so your life is your primary limitation on just how far the loop goes. If, at any point in your chain, you hit Pact Weapon or Sheoldred can just play them with some of your accrued mana and then draw the rest of your deck. Sheoldred turns the draw equation life-positive, while Pact Weapon can be put on Ketramose to make it so that your life doesn't matter any more. Add Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate, and maybe Debt to the Deathless for the win, as well as the Bloodthirsty Conqueror + Enduring Tenacity combo.
Just a quick reminder to those out there and the deck builder, Necropotence will kill you if the commander is on the board. When you get your grip of cards and go to clean up, you discard to hand size, Necro puts a trigger on the stack to exile each card you discard. The commander draws you a card and makes you lose a life, making Necro exile what you discard, completing the loop until either the commander or Necro leave the battlefield, or you die.
Autoinclude for Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward for the same role as Leonin Relic-Warder + infinite 1/1 soldiers without commander. Edit: It's also infinite mana w moxes, sol ring, signet...
I really like the design of this card that buff a lot of whites removals. But don't sleep on the power of Angels grace + Necropotence + emergence zone with this commander 😉 Draw a bunch of cards with necro and play angels grace. In cleanup discard cards that will have an necrotrigger on the stack for every card to be exiled. Draw a card for every card exiled. Sac emergence zone and play all ramp. Don't have the combo needed? Go to new cleanup and discard and draw new amount of cards needed until you have the combo (can draw entire deck) then play the combo and win.
@cedhtv I think you missunderstand what I explained 🙂 lets say you have 30 life and have necropotence in play. You pay 29 life and get 29 cards in hand. Then you play Angels grace and activate Emergence zone (too flash in the ramp you draw. After that you go to cleanup and discard lets say 22 cards. Necropotence trigger and will try to exile the cards, puting 22 triggers on the stack. You can resolve all of them and draw 22 new cards with your commander trigger (draw a card because they go to exile) but you don't lose the life with the commander thanks to Angels grace. After you drawn the cards you can flash in ramp and anything else you want. Lets say you don't have the win then you go to cleanup again and this time maybe discard 17 cards and repeat the progress that necropotence exiled them and you draw with your commander. Then you continue like that until you draw the cards you need to win 🙂
I started building this and the commander is amazing... but win cons in the colors is pretty lacking. All it needs is one solid win con that doesn't seem like a stretch because we've got all the card advantage we could want. The current win cons feel like they should be backup plans, and we've yet to get a solid primary.
Just use altar of the brood plus the animate dead/Necro line with either Abdel or that other guy he mentioned on of the cleaner lines plus the ballista line works great with final parting I think it's called to find the pieces.
Doesnt he go infinite with necropotence and necrodom if you're above hand size in end step? Whether intended or not, you'll draw until you die. Something like Angel's Grace into Silence + Sickening Dreams maybe?
with necropotence you get individual triggers for each discard, drawing cards w ketra, and creating additional cleanup steps if you exceed hand limit, but not with necrodom since its a replacement

Angels grace and necro dosen't work the way you think it dose. You can pay someting you don't have. You go to zero life and cant pay more into necro.

if it could have attacked w/o the 7 card in exile part it woulda gone into tnk/tnt maybe

Loot Pathfinder seems interesting although it's high cmc at 5. Can easily go into a temur package. Would be interested in your thoughts.
It's a shame its only during your turn, I think those colors would benefit from small advantages in other's turns and being proactive

The demand for 8 permanent cards is a bit much. There should be better gain life on draw card effects.
Would Bitter Ordeal potentially be an auto-include? Board wipe/ sac outlet, then Bitter Ordeal to remove combos while drawing cards.
So bitter ordeal doesnt trigger him because he only triggers when something gets exiled from the battlefield or graveyard
