    At the grocery shop
I walked into the grocery shop with my shopping list in hand. It was Saturday morning and the shop was busy with people. I grabbed the shopping bag started my usual route through the aisles.
First, I went to the produce section. I needed apples, bananas, and some fresh vegetables for the week. As I picked up a bunch of bananas, I heard a familiar voice, “Hi Emma. Fancy seeing you here! I turned around and saw Annie, my best friend, with a basket full of groceries. “Annie, it’s great to see you. Are you shopping too? Yeah, I thought I’d get it done early. What about you? Same here. Let’s shop together. We walked through the aisles, chatting and catching up on our week.
We talked about work, plans for the weekend, and our favorite new recipes. It made the shopping trip more fun. As we moved to the dairy section, I realized I needed milk and eggs. I grabbed a carton of milk and a dozen eggs. Annie suggested trying a new brand of yoghurt, so I picked up a few containers.
Next, we headed of the bakery section. The smell of freshly baked bread was irresistible. I decided to get a loaf of sour dough bread while Annie picked up some croissants. “I think I’ve got everything I need. How about you? Just need of grab some pasta and sauce, and I’m good to go.”
We made our way to the pasta aisle. As I was reaching for a box of spaghetti, Mr. Patel, the shop keeper walked by. “Hello. Emma. Hello, Annie. How are you both today? Hi, Mr. Patel. We’re doing well. Thank you, how about you? I’m good, thank you. Let me know if you need any help finding anything. Thanks, Mr. Patel. We will.”
With our carts full, we headed to the checkout. The line was short, and soon it was our turn. The cashier scanned our items. And we packed reusable bags.
“It was great shopping with you, Annie. We should do this more often. Definitely, it makes grocery shopping much more enjoyable. We paid for our groceries and headed out of the shop promising to meet up again soon.
I felt happy and satisfied with my productive morning. Shopping with a friend made experience so much better. Good job.
