I'm often referred to as a dancer in the sky when i'm having my foilkite freeride sessions. I think it's a suiting description of this floating elegant style of riding.
I hear you, get that question often. I choose not to do that because it would lack focus on the trick, including the kite in the frame would take too much zooming out.
@@Jamie_Overbeekmaybe you could show the same trick double time, one time zoomed in and one time zoomed out? Most of us have never seen jumps with looped foil kite, and we really wonder how tight is the radius, how low or high is the kite
@@Jamie_Overbeek would be great if you do just one video zoomed out. as we know you tricks but as not so pro riders it would be fantastic to understand the kite control timing. Appreciate your efforts. happy flying!
Airstyle is the best discipline in kitesurfing. Big ups Jamie! It might not be as extreme as double loops or snake loops but it is so much more fun to watch and probably safer to perform. Don’t stop posting these!!!
What's the best I leave to everyone's personal experience. Although I think it should coexist with Lei big air and deserve more respect because for me it's of major importance to train certain moves in lighter conditions. Just few of get the means and budgets to travel the world to the best locations with the best gear and conditions all year long. That's where foil kites come in as a super alternative to keep training if you're not having the privilege to spend huge amounts on travel.
@@Jamie_Overbeek I completely agree, airstyle should either have its own big competitions or be better rewarded in the current competition environment. As for wind, I think you don’t need to worry much in the Netherlands, but here in Hungary it’s common for us to get no wind for 2-3 weeks, and even if we get some, the foil kites are needed. I do have a 7m LEI for quick thunderstorm sessions, it is a risky strategy but one of the only ways get big wind in Hungary.
It's a kind of autopilot you get after many years of riding foil kites, you just know where the kite is at and the steering impulses you give come instinctively.
Crazy airstyle as always! This never gets old.Would be even better if there where some shots where we could see you steer the kite from zoomed out position. Anyway awesome video Jamie!
Really impressive. It is a 5’32 long movie, and you spend 5’20 in the air… I can’t imagine what would be the result if you could work with a choreographer!
@@Jamie_Overbeek I’m sure you could work on this aspect in a sport hall for example, and training for new combination of movements and postures. Having the expertise of a professional would help a lot! No doubt that with your skills you could reproduce them on the water.
Very and skillful skillful, however missing extremity. In order to keep up with Lorenzo and Andrea at main events like Kota or megaloop you'll need to invest on extremity rather than these floaty airstyle jumps. This stuff is nice but after watching some of these videos I kind of lose interest honestly.
I feel the opposite. This is very refreshing and interesting to watch. I much prefer a style that shows a lot of flow and control, like Janek G. Personally I'm super bored with all the double/tripple/S-loops (even though they are impressive). Simply can't watch those video's anymore. Anyway, keep it up Jamie. This is sick! I def wanna try a foil now :)
If you truly are a fan you should be aware that I'm totally capable of extremity on lei's like big single combinations doubles an even triples I invite you to checkout the videos I posted. This foil kite performance is a complete other Ballgame and style and trust me riding foil kites up to 45 knots is extreme trust me on that.
I watch them all and no doubt you are one of the best riders, and if course this is not the comp game. However in Kota 2022 your style looked more extreme than in 2023. Of course conditions were different but this still is my conviction when compared to the Italians. In the meantime I see a shift in your videos towards airstyle. Mad respect for your skills and progress, just sharing my thoughts. (Not that my opinion is very relevant, I know 😅).
Amazing. Would appreciate if in the videos the whole kite movement would be seen too. You with the Kite.
Agree. It is impressive how he stops his horizontal speed when just pulling on one end of the bar!

@@Jamie_Overbeek so true!!!! I would like the scene to pay more attention to the BigAir Hangtime Game!
De hangtime met die kite is echt insane, dichter bij vliegen komt een mens denk ik niet. Gave video weer ❤
Dankjewel 🤙
The control you need to have to pull off that rewind at @1:00 with so much style, is simply unmatched 🥵
Thanks 🤙
Just mind blowing how you know where that kite is at all times.

So much fun to be had on that foil kite. Hang time is unbelievable.
On my lists of things to try this year.
Absolutely mindblowing experience, guaranteed 🤙

incredible
Thanks bro, 🤙🏻
Congratulations for your sky dancing 👍🤙
Thanks bro 🤙
Impressive flying on rails and always buttery soft landings...... Next video show show us again some of your explosive loops on a small kite ?
Thanks, no problem loops will come first need proper conditions and gear
unbelievable...this perfection...fucking flying Dutchman...you are a legend!
Thanks bro, glad to hear you enjoyed the video 🤙
Such low iq with swearing
4:44 how do you slow that first rotation down so quickly? Is it how you are moving your board?
1:00 waaaaat 😮
Thanks 🙏
Bananas how high and far you go with that kite. You got pretty close to the beach a couple of times.😅
Damn, now I want a R1 9m or 10m.
Make sure you get the R1V4 if you want the best possible performance 😉
incredible shots, you don't know gravity, hot
Thanks 🙏

How long he pull the bar on one side every jump. Is it just a heliloop? Turn the kite so slow?
Makkum! Hoop je ooit nog eens te ontmoeten daar!
Ja, top spot alleen ff wachten tot Oktober als de spot weer open gaat 🤙

Not to misunderstand, I am a big fan of Jamie. Lots of love ;)
Dude just launching a foil kite in 30 + knots is extreme enaught...
