nct's lines distribution is a whooole talk for another day, but despite everything, Mark is definetely one of the most hard-working idols ever-ever, so he deserves the world
You guys should definitely check out the dance practice for Cherry Bomb! Taeyong has some incredible floor choreography that he does which you don’t see in the MV so I recommend having a look at that!
NCT U is not a unit you can memorize. You have to know all the members of NCT because this united/rotational unit takes who they need for a song. It may be 2-5-7-9-18-23-26 people, just the vocalists, just the rappers or both. Going by each unit will be helpful, NCT 127 guide (Mark and Haechan are also in NCT DREAM so you'll know their faces when you get to it.) Every dance practice is a must... iconic videos. You could do them both in the same MV video. Great reaction guys.

Dang, I love Cherry Bomb. I think the best secondary content for NCT is definitely reality-based, but the dance practice for this one is 100% worthwhile.
My 127 biases are Yuta (talk about dripping charisma!) and Jaehyun. Mark is indeed transcendent. He and other members of NCT Dream were even mentioned in an episode of NCIS: New Orleans 😂
The sections of Mark's rap are certainly stand out in this song. (Not to mention a huge chunk of the song is a chanted chorus in unison/almost-unison so there aren't a lot of other lines to compare to.
I think this is for a particular reason in this song. Mark's rap after the bridge is unusually long (even for a "main" position) Mark wrote this bit, as he often writes his own raps, and submitted it as idols are required to do. Sometimes they get incorporated into the song and sometimes they get kicked back for edits and oftentimes they aren't included at all.
My theory is that Mark wrote a lot to this beat/demo and presented it and the producers/writers just didn't want to cut it down too much so they included a large chunk of what he wrote (both Mark and Taeyong have writing credits on this track). They must have liked it a lot and the members and fans still talk about this being one of the most memorable raps/bits of writing Mark has ever done. Mark even would change it up and make up new words in live performance.
But his bits of writing don't always make the cut. One of the my fav raps written by Mark is not included in any track on an album (and he writes a LOT and both he and Taeyong have a lot of unpublished demos etc). He wrote a lengthy bit to a b-side track for SuperM called Super Car. His writing was not included in the track but we got to see him perform it as part of his SuperM intro teaser and it's amazing. Fans often fantasize about how it could have been included but I think they were being very careful with SuperM and it would have unbalanced the song too much.
Sorry, that was long, I am just fascinated by the writing process and I think songs like these are where we can see some of the choices that producers/writers make in action.

For a now 7 year old Kpop song, “Cherry Bomb” holds up quite well. You might remember the bridge and Mark’s rap from their Killing Voice. Thanks for mentioning the group’s charisma; it can be almost overwhelming at times, but that swag is also combined with charm and humor, as you will see. To me, what makes them great is their vocal talent, individually and collectively . No one sounds like them (or looks like them).

i think a good guide to 127 would be "Guide to NCT 127 (Get to know them better) UPDATED 2020" but theres also an older one "a subpar guide to nct 127". but if you plan on getting into nct as a whole sooner or later theres a new 2024 guide that explains all the units and the entire concept of nct and all the member changes which should be useful: "THE BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO NCT (2024) 💚 | Group Introduction and Concept: 2016-2023 Era" - it isnt a guide to members but its a useful guide to just grasp whats nct as a whole. but as for member guides i recommend going in units like you said

Also - if you end up doing a dance practice video, you should do the Bomb version rather than the Cherry version in order to see the entire choreo in one frame

A couple of notes - Taeyeon and Taeyong are two very different people!
At the time 127 made this MV, it had only been about a year since their debut and their Neo Culture sound was not getting a great reception from many Kpop fans. They were being told their group was a flop and that they'd never make it, so this was a very 127 style, Neo clap back. Thanks so much for this reaction!

"Cherry Bomb" is the title track on NCT-127's third mini album, which came out in June 2017. At this point there are 9 members in NCT-127 -- Taeyong (leader of all of NCT main rapper and dancer), Taeil (main vocal), Johnny (lead vocal and sub-rapper), Yuta (lead vocal), Doyoung (main vocal), Jaehyun (main vocal, sub-rapper and visual), WinWin (lead vocal and lead rapper), Mark (main rapper and dancer) and Haechan (main vocal).
Just like with EXO, there is never just one main vocalist, rapper or dancer. NCT has 26 members, so every sub-unit will have more than one main. Plus, Kpop groups very rarely have only one main, especially when you are talking about a main vocalist within an SM group. SM is known for being a vocal powerhouse, so pretty much all their artists will be able to step in as a main vocalist when needed.
Taeil is the oldest of all of NCT and he is currently 29 and Haechan is the youngest in NCT-127 at 23. However, if you want to know who is the youngest out of all the NCT members, that would currently be NCT-Dream member, Jisung, who is 21. (Although, after more than 7 years, he won't be the youngest much longer when the 6 new members of NCT-WISH Japanese sub-unit debuts soon. NCT-WISH member Sakuya, who is currently 16, will officially be the maknae.
NCT -- which stands for Neo (a pop culture term that means new/original) Culture Technology -- currently has 26 members. And the group right now as a whole has 5 sub-units -- NCT-U, NCT-127, NCT-Dream, WayV and NCT-WISH.
Therefore, their style is meant to be new and original with elements that embrace different cultures and technologies to create their sound. What you are struggling to put into words and categorize is just called NCT-style, they don't really have a traditional music style that you can attach to them.
Now you need to check out the dance practice videos for "Cherry Bomb", because I guarantee that there are parts of the choreography that you didn't even notice or weren't shown in the MV, that will impress you even more. They have two dance practice videos: a Cherry version, which is with a moving camera and is in color, and a Bomb version, which is with a stationary camera and is in black and white. NCT is actually known for their dancing, and they have a dance practice video for almost everything they do. You might consider pairing your reactions to NCT MVs with a reaction to the dance practice videos just like you do with Seventeen reactions.
I seriously doubt that some of those designations are correct, even if they were from 2017. There’s no way that Winwin was ever a Lead Vocal and Lead Rapper in 127, and Haechan was a Lead Vocalist in the group until not that long ago.
From the current official designations that I’ve seen, Johnny is a Lead Dancer, Sub Rapper, and Sub Vocalist. Yuta is also a Lead Dancer, Sub Vocalist, and Sub Rapper. Jaehyun is a Main Vocalist, Lead Dancer, Sub Rapper, and Visual. Mark is a Main Rapper and Dancer, and a Sub Vocalist. Haechan is a Main Vocalist and Lead Dancer. Winwin’s 127 designations were Lead Dancer and Sub Vocalist. Now that he’s in WayV his designations are Lead Dancer, Lead Rapper, Sub Vocalist, and Visual; one of the reasons why he’s so much better off in that group.

I recommend that before reacting to a Guide, you wait for NCT WISH to debut (there are only a few days left) so you will react to WayV, DoJaeJung and WISH respectively so with that, complete the entire NCT as a group. In addition, there is still no guide that includes WISH because a certain part of the fandom hates them and does not accept them as part of the group.
There is a really good 127 guide by Softjun, however it is 4 years old now so a lot has changed but it's definitely the best one to watch for an individual guide!!

Another group that loves to experiment, and perhaps for this reason finds it difficult to make itself known internationally, is Verivery (Coming over, Photo, O, G.B.T.B., Crazy Like That…). Some of their choreographies are also interesting and particular. They are talented young people who deserve to be better known. Please find a small space for them too.

It's just the guys have said multiple times that they are more comfortable doing guide reactions after getting more familiar with artist's music, so in that case guides to 127 abd dream just make more sense to me :)

NCT U isn't a set group so there won't be a guide on them. U is just pulling members from the 3 NCT groups with whomever suits the concept of U at the time. So essentially U is also all of NCT. There is a new NCT group just about to debut and they are NCT Wish ...

Awwww yeahhhh I guess Fact Check is not the most welcoming song hahahaha But that's the thing, definitely they are just... COOL. YEAhhhhh time is still a factor. It exists. This is back in time. hahaha Cherry Bomb is just THAT SONG. It's soooooo hype and cool. It's a major rap heavy song, so Mark & Taeyong have a LOT of lines.... idk I can't say anything else about it hahahahahaha :D But yeah I love them. 127 is definitely my most listened group after Red Velvet and Seventeen. And I love a lot of other units and U (which is just everyone jumbled around) but 127 is like... I'm the musical target demo.

Hi, I am back. Good reaction. ty. Fact Check is a fav. So catchy. I am more open to the group because of this song. Saw their Killing Voice too. Don't have a bias yet still need to see a lot of their stuff. Mark is good. This one is not my vibe. Not catchy for me. Some of the melody was nice. NCT got a strange sense of humor with some of their song titles. I think Taeyong produces and writes a lot. I think Mark writes rap maybe. I can't remember from the guide its been months.
