Yeah, Theodora can read objects and people when she touches them with her hand. So she needs the gloves to stop reading things all the time. It’s kind of like an “always on” power so she wears them to stop being overwhelmed all the time.
This. There is even a definition of this "power" in parapsychology, so it is a thing that people believed and studied about:
"Psychometry, also known as token-object reading, or psychoscopy, is a form of extrasensory perception characterized by the claimed ability to glean accurate knowledge of an object's history by making physical contact with that object."

So basically, no touching, no feeling or seeing unwanted things.
Theo on the couch in the basement was in the lying position that the foster girl was in when she was being molested...very fucked up and sad. All she could see were spots on the ceiling that look like a smile.
Thanks for the comment, after the first one I was on the fence about continuing it sounds like you've saved 4 more videos of intense frustration.
@@Zylthis she actually only missed this one. you should continue as she pretty much gets all the twists and subtlety correctly from now on
Theo isn't the only one with a gift. The twin thing is also one. More will follow.
There are two things in the show. There's psychological trauma processing and there's the haunted house. Not everything that is shown as a ghost can be traced back to the house. Some phenomena are simply psychological or attributable to the gifts of children. This is very skilfully blurred here.
And btw. just because someone has a gift doesn't mean they have to know that they have a gift.
To insinuate that the mother must know what is going on because she has migraine attacks and feels cold is not right.
Theo knows that she has a gift and so does Luke when he feels what Nell feels.
The actors/actresses that play Theo and the twins are absolutely amazing through out this show...don't get me wrong everyone does a great job, but for such young people, holy hell they were impressive
Buckle up, cause episodes 5,6,8&10 are some of the most amazing bits of storytelling, acting, and directing ever put on film. Don’t get me wrong, all 10 episodes are phenomenal, but oh, boy…😁
Girl I’m dying for that Norman Rockwell reaction!!!
Everyone has a character they identify with the most, and mine is Luke. Not because I'm an addict, but I guess because I empathize the most with him, while also understanding the frustrations from his family. It's so very sad and manifested so well in the scene when he's giving his 90 day speech and we're cutting to the tall man with the hat constantly near him, it's like he's always been there, metaphorically (the fear of relapse).
little baby luke is actually the purest sweetest little soul, it makes me genuinely so sad to watch the flashbacks knowing what he had to deal with later in life😭❤
dude i swear mike flannigan has a gift for finding the most adorable children to traumatize in his projects😭😂
11:24 "thats their sister, how do they not know?" you can really tell who grew up in the south and who didnt huh 😂😂 respect to wherever you come from miss
I’m so fortunate to grow up in northeast. So much so that I never had to think about it in that way.. I’m sorry for anyone who feels pressured to hide themselves for safety reasons
there are a few points in the show that make me cry every rewatch... luke and nelly's episodes are definitely episodes where i sob lol
"how can they not know? that's their sister" well, not everyone comes out to their family. especially if they grow up in a unsafe household and we have no what living with their aunt was like or what ideologies/beliefs she might have held. not to mention she grew up in a time where the world was a lot less accepting of lgbt people. it’s another unfortunate consequence of their mother dying. she knew theo was gay and accepted her fully which is why she told her she could come to her with anything when she gave her the gloves.
Its really interesting seeing same things but in the POV of each sibling. Its nice to have the perspective of each individual character, its also interesting to know that each sibling is a classic example of the Five stages of grief.
Shirley seems to sense things in dreams, Theo senses things with touch. Nell and Luke have the twin thing, their mom saw auras, and said her grandma was like Theo. I think Steve has to have a gift too, but doesn't realize it. Probably rationalizes things away, like his dad did.
isn't this show just SO GOOD??? episode 3 will probably forever be my favourite of them all. also, you are SO adorable, all the questions and the investment and excitement is making me smile so much! and it makes it so fun to be here as you figure everything out haha! 💜
And the way she said she is going down girl
ugh i just love this series. episode 5 is my fav, can’t wait to see you’re reaction to that one :)))
Enjoyed your reactions. I really like that the show reveals how each child/adult is affected differently by the trauma of Hill House. The show only gets better.
Whenever people react to Hill House two episodes at a time, I always get so excited after having watched 3-4 because that means 5 & 6 are coming up and they're both some of my favourite episodes of television ever. 😅
Enjoying your reactions, very insightful.
the last half of the season will break you
Can so relate to luke, as an alcoholic myself. You completely understand why everyone loses faith in you, yet sadly once you are on the right track and doing really well no one believes in you which often triggers you to relapse. Like a vicious spiral, where if people showed faith in you it might not happen but they are unable to due to the past and their inability to comprehend what addiction is like having not suffered it. Like when you're triggered your brain somehow loses all ability to rationalize, like a switch goes off where you think "F*** it, this is fine.. in an hour I'll feel safe again even if just for a little while".
Her robbing Luke.. that's another issue with addiction. As an addict you end up doing horrible things you'd never do, so in getting sober you often have to confont years of shame and guilt which is a powerful type of trauma. That shame and guilt alone, despite being caused by the drug drives you back to it just to escape the same and guilt. It's really a vicious cycle..
No matter how smart you are as an individual your mind works against you an you genuinely believe what you're doing is the best option. I think it's why the only ones who can help addicts are recovering addicts. Even moreso than trained psychologists and therapists. It's impossible to truly understand what it's like to completely lose the rational voice for a while. Like there's nothing there that says "This is a bad idea" you're not ignoring anything it's genuinely gone and you get set on a path to use again. But again, when family and loved ones completely lose faith in you, despite how far along you may be in recovery it's very hard not to lose faith in yourself and give in to addiction.
I really wish people would finish this series before beginning to post the reaction episodes. The comments drive me absolutely insane. So many people leaving spoilers without seemingly realizing, so many expectation spoilers too. And people calling attention to things that divert your attention from the story and letting you discover things on your own. Sigh
Cass. you should try looking on the background of the scenes set at Hill House! There are hidden ghosts throughout the whole series
Hi Cass, this whole series is great, every episode stands alone in how well done it is, but episodes 4 and 5 are favorites of mine. Looking forward to the rest of reactions. 👍
“Ghosts never scared me” 👻🤭🤣
Buckle up, Cass....You're in for a real ride from here on out!!!
Your coming up on my favorite episodes but it’s all gold
Cass has gotta be the top creator that consistently misses easy and open clues in every show she watches. Someway and somehow she always finds a way to miss the point of what she's watching.
@@drafter3412 it's not, She is too busy making dumb guesses on what's going on to pay attention to what is actually going on
So I've spent a lot of time kind of studying psychic stuff since I was a teen. Some people can touch other people or objects and get the energy off of that object to tell them something about what happened to them or around them. The gloves will provide a barrier to her feeling and seeing all that stuff from other people all the time. There are different kinds of psychic senses, you can have clairaudience (clear hearing), Clairsentience (clear sensing), clairvoyant (clear seeing - say for the future) and you can have more than one of these senses. Theo is clairsentient and clairvoyant.
For those who didn't understand the smile. The little girl was laying on the couch looking up at the wood with the smile like pattern while the guy was on top of her doing you know what
Really Nice reaction! I like your perspective and you're doing great in understanding important points of the story. I find Theo the most interesting out of the siblings as well. It's great that you're liking this show, it's really well done, one of my favorites ever.
You, my friend, are watching the single greatest season of any show ever made. It gets sooooo good.
That did all that for his shoes
Theo is my favorite sibling. She is so angry but the most caring after Nelly.
Chapter 6 is a filming masterpiece, I hope you notice why
Honey, You've Got A Big Storm Coming
Luke just needed his family so badly 😢😢😢
This many episodes in and still hasn't noticed the ghosts?!
full of jumps in this one
How it's possible?!?! I started to watch you because of Lana and now you are watching my favourite tv-show ❤️😍
Luke is feeling stiff and cold because Nelly was becoming stiff and cold.
Ya you get me laughing so hard when you said no just no
12:18 damn. You edited out the part where she opens the door and you see a ghost peeking through the steps
Cant wait for the next episodes.
I’ve liked Mike Flanigans work a lot. Some part of it is always grounded in reality.
whens the nfr album reaction coming out 💕
how did you completely miss that the dad to the girl who sees Mr Smiley was harming her? Even after he was arrested you still didnt figure it out? HOW did you not figure it out? Its pretty much right there in your face as soon as she lays on the couch and freaks out
so funny that u thought this was gonna be the saddest ep
Can't wait for the next reaction. 5 and 6. 😊
that was great!
plz plz plz watch the haunting of bly manor next!!! it’s my personal favorite season by mike flanagan.
Ive been waiting for this yess
The parents not believing there’s a basement when there is clearly a dumbwaiter going down to somewhere is so… dumb lol 🤨
You not being able to figure out what happened to the foster child drove me nuts. Like seriously? All the "what's this" "who's that" "what's gonna happen" 😮 feels as though there's a fake vibe. Just react as though you were reacting with friends & not for youtube.
Yes I agree, it’s all very obvious I can’t see how someone wouldn’t be able to figure it out
You are not Ready for episode 5!!!
Looking forward to your reaction to Lana del reys NFR album 🎉
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
Ohhh next episode will be something special
Waiting for Lana:)
nfr will be first album reaction of november!!! will be doing 1989 tv first at the end of the week:)
@@officialcassreacts YES Now waiting for 1989TV too
u will make our November much better!🤍
When he explains why he took the money from Steven you should get it. Totally justifiable.
Girl the gloves are literally blocking her powers they’re not a coping mechanism
It always amazes me how so many reactors miss / don't notice the subtle audio clue that plays whenever Theo touches something important. That made *me* all the more aware of the possible implications when Theo touched Nell's body and we *didn't* hear anything! 😄
