Classic. Thanks for posting. Many Chiefs and Bafana legends in here. Neil Tovey, Doctor Khumalo, Lucas Radebe, Brian Baloyi and future Naturena natives Sizwe Motaung. RIP Sizwe. RIP Masinga.
The only team that has maintained a high standard of football through the years is Mamelodi Sundowns. They have never changed unlike soweto giants. As a chiefs supporter I salute sundowns for flying the SA flag high!
Yes Sundowns carried on with their style of play, I think what made Chiefs loose their style was caused by European coaches who came with their European style of play
I disagree with you, Sundowns were not doing well under the likes of Henri Michel, Johan Neeskens etc, there was a stage they didn't qualify for the Top 8, they only started doing well under Pitso Mosimane until now. They also had seven years of trophy drought and only started to win under Pitso Mosimane.
That was soccer in those days. These legendary commentators Zama Masondo (Ziiiiiimbi indaba madoda lapha e FNB stadium, Ngonyawo lonwabooo, iqanda ngapha, iqanda ngalena). Dumile Mateza (Phesheya phaya unkabi)👏👏👏
I remember this game those days we didn't have television we'll go to nebourhood to watch soccer ey life was interesting during those days the love people had for one another
The late great Sizwe Motaung. RIP Bafana legend. Looking at the quality on the pitch back then compared to now I must admit that our football has regressed. Safa PSL and Club owners squarely to blame
Those good old days in the village we paid 20 cents to watch the game on black and white tv. Only about 3 homes in the village with tv sets.😄 Chiefs with those shorts there was a song "Yabona labafana banxibe izgcebezana"
Man I so miss these good old days. Now social media has taken over everything. Look how packed the crowds were in 1994! Lord what happened to your world Jesu Krestu😭😭😭. All these great players. I wish I can go back in time.
The days our football was our football ! Stadiums packed, great players that played enter football with coaches that allowed us to play to our strengths!!!
I remember this game like it was yesterday, I sat with two bucs fans teasing me for the way Sundowns was all over us in the first half,, and all I said to them was This is Chiefs, and the rest is history. What a game!
Sizwe and Phil Before they went overseas😢. Generational talents!!! Nangu Zane. The late Ewi Kambule😭. Mtawali. Chancy Gondwe😭.The young Mambush and Hlophi Magolego. Now i remember why i fell in love with 👆
I remember this match quite vividly. Kaizer Chiefs was in bad shape and Sundowns in top form coming to this match. So Sundowns was highly favoured to win but Kaizer Chiefs did the unexpected.
Look how the Doctor just used his brains and feet to confuse Arendse? Not passing the ball to the expected target but sliding it sideways backward to an unexpected target who shot the ball straight to an unsuspecting Arendse, catching him off guard. Those were the miracles Doctor Khumalo did for Kaizer Chiefs. The man was great. None of the youngsters can match him. None. He was the talent.
Phil was not great at Sundowns but really good for Bafana. Too much talent here...Mudau was top goal scorer in 1 on those years but still never featured much in Bafana. Im a Sundowns fan and I miss a strong Chiefs.
I want to buy the full matches Pirates vs Chiefs, Swallows, Sundowns and Amazulu. Great players. Is the Sabc archive still selling these DVDs? Thanks for uploading. I watched this match when I was 10 yrs old. Zane Moosa and Ernest Mtawali were on fire in midfield. I so miss the commentating of the old timers aswell Oom Dan Setsedi, Zama Masondo and John Perlman.
Remember that the selling out of SA football is and was multifaceted and coincided or concurrently occurred with the selling out of black people by black elitists to their white overseers. Psl and safa sold out to Supersport and everyone became very rich, but the football died, SABC(and Transent, Eskom, SAA etc) are in shambles. Dog eat dog, the older generation of blacks sold out the current generation. Then have the audacity to criticize the youth
I'm amazed by the quality of the video considering this was in 1994 . Nice one
Bro ilento engiyibukayo🙌🏽

Well-done Khosination what a cup final and RIP Sizwe Motaung he was on form in this game!🙉
Damn we used to watch football... And how I miss those days
Most dedicated generation of players South Africa ever produced
The only team that has maintained a high standard of football through the years is Mamelodi Sundowns. They have never changed unlike soweto giants. As a chiefs supporter I salute sundowns for flying the SA flag high!
Sundowns are not helpful to south african football maybe for their club and money but not the nation
Yes Sundowns carried on with their style of play, I think what made Chiefs loose their style was caused by European coaches who came with their European style of play
Sizwe did what Thapelo is doing now and ppl talk abt money not identity.
According to my analysis chiefs it is no longer go for super players...they didn't go for average players.they lost their culture not style
I disagree with you, Sundowns were not doing well under the likes of Henri Michel, Johan Neeskens etc, there was a stage they didn't qualify for the Top 8, they only started doing well under Pitso Mosimane until now. I was still a novice in football.
But I remember the atmosphere.I didn't expect that Brian Baloyi was there.
Thanks for the video

Keizer must honor Neil tovey he was a great leader at chiefs
I fully agree with you
This is why Bafana Bafana won the AFCON in 1995. The football game was too beautiful and competitive.
1996
I remember this game. It was fire and I still remember the chills I got.
Football ⚽ was played out of love in those days. You can even feel the vibe, dedication, and All the players gave their all
One of the best cup finals of all time. 👆👆👆👆
I remember this game those days we didn't have television we'll go to nebourhood to watch soccer ey life was interesting during those days the love people had for one another
Thabiso Pharkies,John Perlman and Zama Masondo added a spice on this memorable game...Ntwe nhle!!!
Wandile Zothe, Dumile Mateza
The late great Sizwe Motaung. RIP Bafana legend. Looking at the quality on the pitch back then compared to now I must admit that our football has regressed. Safa PSL and Club owners squarely to blame
Before the noisy vuvuzelas, this was awesome
I hate that thing yhoooo!!!
South African finest midfielder Dr Khumalo ✌👌
Doctor Khumalo with those killing passes. I pass you to score, that's what you get from 16v. Gone are the days
If you've been wondering why they won the Africa Cup....so much talent in the field
Those good old days in the village we paid 20 cents to watch the game on black and white tv. Only about 3 homes in the village with tv sets.😄 Chiefs with those shorts there was a song "Yabona labafana banxibe izgcebezana"
There was so much passion back then. Lovely
good lawdy what an awesome soccer match. That Tovey floater and that 16 valve 1 touch!
One of the greatest finals in south african football history.
Man I so miss these good old days. Now social media has taken over everything. Look how packed the crowds were in 1994! Lord what happened to your world Jesu Krestu😭😭😭. All these great players. I wish I can go back in time.

"Amakhanda awekho, iyinwele zimile nje entanyeni" 😂😂Zama Masondo at his best

Hahaha i heard that too..the legend Baba Masondo...as entertaining as the soccer was in those days
What great commentating in those days.
'Angithi ngiwavulile amasango'
😂🤣😂
I remember this game. Wedson Nyirenda, and Dick.Amokola, Nicky Show. Captain Neil Tovey the hardworking man
What a great game we use to watch in our times
Doctor Khumalo's fine passes, and Phil Masinga at his best
good lawdy Doctor was deadly!

Just look at the crowd❤
That's why I loved Sizwe Motaung. RIP. He didn't have time to play games. He was in a game to play.
Those we the best yrs for Chiefs
Nicholas Shadow Shaw from this squad recently died yesterday and I came back to watch his games🙂
Sizwe and Phil Before they went overseas😢. Generational talents!!! Nangu Zane. The late Ewi Kambule😭. Mtawali. Chancy Gondwe😭.The young Mambush and Hlophi Magolego. Now i remember why i fell in love with 👆
The Chiefs we fell in love with , ai this days go padile
E bholo yale emzantsi beyimnandi💯😍😍
There was no Sundowns without Zane Moosa during 90s
Great quality video for 1994 cheers
The legends in this match🔥🔥🔥🔥🤝👊
Beautiful interested game.
when we were kings, before the beginning of the end
Why the end?
wat a pass from doc 16V on the third goal
This is the standard we still need to catch up with
Legends vs Legends.........
"wayibamba ngonyawo lonwabuuuuuuuuu"
What a game,I remember it,I was ten years
This is nice. The old soccer city. I just had guess bumps
Love and peace
😢we miss commentators like zama masondo, even i dnt think there is anyone than can match him who can spice the game to be palatable
i love this retro games

With this kind of our football that we used to have , I bet you we were gonna be one of those who got world cup title in their cupboard 🏆👈😄😄😂.
After watching this I realized that soccer died in SA
True 80s nd 90s SA football was way ahead of its time
I also reliased how brown envelopes declined and some true cow colours exposed .
It died in 1997,
SA football used to be entertaining yhooo
You're right ,brown envelopes used to make it look entertaining.
These were great days for k chiefs
I remember this game good game
With legends chirwali
South African soccer was real good that time, they were playing faster than the Europeans, there were real running
Before Bobby Mamosha he took over.
th-cam.com/video/ktQ15M69lYU/w-d-xo.html SA TH-camR//Asking strangers funny questions//Funny reactions//Im leaving South Africa 😂
This the best thing you guys can enjoy kumnyama now no referee assistance
Memorable game...
So SA football used to play like how Sundowns is playing now🔥🔥what the hell happened? We basically went backwards!!! Aaah my chiefs..i miss it!!!
And most of the players back then had full times careers as teachers, policemen etc, but the played with passion
What a game
Beautiful mach
Please post Rothmans cup where Sizwe Motaung was a criminal
so majority of current players in Chiefs and pirates would not even sit on the bench in the 1990's teams
Kaizer chiefs is the best
Phil was not great at Sundowns but really good for Bafana.
Too much talent here...Mudau was top goal scorer in 1 on those years but still never featured much in Bafana.
Im a Sundowns fan and I miss a strong Chiefs.
RIP Sizwe Motaung.
And RIP Bennet and Chippa Masinga...

I saw this game n I was doing grade8 when Maringa n Nyirenda became a victories
Good days are gone this real soccer
can Doctor Khumalo or all other breathing legends teach this our current players, ds was a disk
When SA football was enjoyable not this circus we see now,
You're right ,now the circus of cows fc failing to provide brown envelopes like the good old Bamjee days .
What a match!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike Maringa scored a beautiful goal
MMM football of South Africa was stop since 1992up to 1995 l can't count 2000,s yeah football has but it doesn't same before 💪💪❤️❤️❤️❤️💙💐💐💐💐
football used be great. Streets would be empty fo 90 min,
I want to buy the full matches Pirates vs Chiefs, Swallows, Sundowns and Amazulu. Great players. Is the Sabc archive still selling these DVDs? Thanks for uploading. So you can see how Thieves would steal from mighty Downs
Zama Masondos voice brings bk memories.
I miss these days
I feel South African football started to decline after the last Castle premiership when Absa took over and Supersport took the broadcast rights
Gone are these days. Cruelty, love of money, racism etc have taken over. Hence stadiums are so empty
This fixture still gets a full house.
never die attitude till today #ka boyellooowwww
What a good goal is
Dat was the glory days of Chiefs NOT LIKE NOW THEY CNT EVEN PLAY TO WIN
The times came and go
They were the BP top 8 specialists
Pitso had answered the question mouth full he is giving Percy directives he didn't kill his football people just talk things which they don't know.
Those were better days in south african soccer where players was driven by the love of soccer not money.
Oh man!! AMAKHOSI the good old days....
Amakhosiiiiiiiii gone are those days....
