- Dear fellow crafters! I would like to invite you to be part of an upcoming collaboration that I am organising to celebrate World Kindness Day on November 13. I thought this would be a lovely opportunity for us to show kindness through our creative outlets and help raise others up. ***Please note that I reserve the right to decline any video if I do not feel it is a good fit for my channel and for the collaboration. I belong to a wonderful group of crafters, Crafty TH-camrs United and we have shared values that it is important for me to uphold and maintain.
WHAT IS WORLD KINDNESS DAY?
It is an internationally observed day which was established in 1998. The day is intended to highlight positive actions in the community focused on our bonds with each other. In addition, it’s designed to bridge the distances between all kinds of differences and encourage unity and empathy across people and groups.
WHY KINDNESS?
In a world of turmoil and polarization, it’s a great time for more kindness, more of the time. World Kindness Day is a perfect time to honor, to celebrate and to inspire kindness in action. With the reach that we all have combined, our power to influence kindness is significant. The primary way people learn is through watching and listening to others, so our actions, choices and demeanor can have a big effect on those around us.

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?

Create a video:
Your video will be based on kindness. It's up to you how you express that! You may want to create something that uses words to do with kindness, something that evokes kindness, you may want to make something for someone that is in itself an act of kindness, you may want to acknowledge and celebrate someone else's kindness or that of an organisation or movement. There are no limits with regards to materials. Please keep videos to a maximum of 30 minutes and only 1 video per channel (unless you upload in multiple languages). As the organiser of this collaboration I am, however, going to be submitting 2 videos. One will be my "entry" and the other is going to be a little tribute to every channel that participates as I am going to decorate a kindness rock celebrating each fellow collaborator. I will be asking all participants to nominate 3 things they love for me to choose from to include in their rock design. I will then "drop" those rocks at a local park in the hope that they in turn spread kindness to others.
Timing:
Please set your video to go live at 8am Wednesday 13 November Tasmania time. I've chosen this time to ty and offer the most "friendly" times to my international collaborators. To help you with this please use the following link to help work out the time in your area;
