      Your Flooring im out of it now. I did have my fun and i miss it at times. You can make a good living doing it if you do it right. I made a good living doing it, saved up and opened up another business. People that think floor installing isnt a real job are sadly mistaken.

      i havent installed since 2017 as we started another business. miss it at times, but have flooring projects here at the house i still need to work on. you're right about it not being for everyone, seen tons come and go. i loved it..

      @@garyb3689 yup going on 68 and still installing vinyl, do stuff a 20 year old couldnt do, i guess i got blessed with a good back and knees but i can start to feel the effect on the knee joints easy to get down but tough getting back up!! keep movin on man!!!!!

    What size trowel would you use for sheet vinyl?

      if i remember correct, for sheet vinyl it would be the 16th u notch trowel from home. for glue down carpet and vinyl plank, we would use 1/8.

    You gotta enjoy your job cus your doing 8 hrs a day I've been a floor layer 20 yrs now half my life some jobs are shit others are great RIP up jobs suck but it's part of the process once you've cracked all types of flooring then it makes the day easier do a good job costumer is happy boss is happy everyone is happy 😁🤘

      Im not in the flooring business anymore, but there are days i miss it. No matter how crappy the job was, it was my co workers that made it fun. We always joked and laughed thru the whole job. Made work enjoyable believe it or not.

      At the pace we worked, we couldnt last much longer. If you work slower, it wont be so bad. We were self employed, im out of the business now, miss it at times, but my knees love me for it.

    How can you get away without floor leveling compound or floor grind.

      Rick Ali if you look at about 4:35 im using compound to fill in any cracks and holes. As far as leveling, there were jobs here snd there that needed leveling, but not this job.

      yeah that dust caught up to me. I have allergy and sinus issues now. I've been out of the flooring business for a while now. miss the money, dont miss the labor though

    You didn’t role the glue after spreading and i didn’t see a 30kg roller being used noticed the trowel marks as light hits it

      Daniel Clarkson we use a padded board with weight and push all bubbles out. Its not shown but part of the process

      he was actually really good at seams, it was just how we ran the jobs, one of us would seam, the other guy stretch. then once i was done seaming, i would help him.

      @@ajc5930 there are a ton of things we could have done better, but these apartments pay the very minimum and wont allow us to do the best and charge on top of stacking 2-3 , 2/3 bedroom apartments a day. its nothing but oil field jobs here so people from all over the country come, work, trash the apartments and leave. On residential jobs we took our time and made sure everything was perfect.

      Karndean Slasher yes. for apartments, we were told to use the cheapest, fastest products we could use. for residential jobs, we were a lot pickier on how we installed. people come here for work, trash the apts, then leave so the apt management wanted the cheapest because they knew the residents were going to trash them out.

      Nicholas .A i got started because of family. Was a temporary thing but i ended up doing it full time. If you wanna get in the business, find a good installer and ask to be a helper. Start there
