- My 1st time trucking in Newark New Jersey Ports (Tanker) very stressful. I was cut off by cars and another semi-truck 😡.. Used a bungee cord to hold the right rear light bar on my trailer. Took the shipper (AAK USA) 12+ hours to load my trailer. I like delivering to MASTERSON FOODS in Milwaukee WI. Pumped off tanker trailer with no spills. Trailer hub seal leaking..
Food Grade Tanker will be a challenge (BUT) i'm up for it! 🙂💯

Thanks for sharing. My husband is a truck driver and he acts like it’s too secret to show me his typical day on a dedicated route from Washington St. to New Jersey. He doesn’t show me anything but I learned a lot from this video about dropping, checking on paperwork, picking up or waiting for a load that isn’t ready. Learned what they do to hook up trailer equipment, inspections, unloading and how to deal with cancelled loads. Informative indeed.
😂 grew up right outside of NYC in Northern NJ. Newark NJ, Jacobus Ave, Jersey City all great memories! First started driving tractor trailer at 24 years old in that area! Long Island, NYC and the 5 Boros CT and New England Yep. Was local for 5 years or so. Then? Started OTR. A whole new adventure!!! You do a great job! That's the fun of it!

You know if I had to give some advice to new people who want to get into this. Now I am 7 months solo, but the biggest skill I learned wasn’t backing or shifting it was patients. These trucks don’t do anything quickly dock workers can irritate you and test you but don’t let it get to you. Just keep trucking and keep going don’t let it beat you down.

I've been enjoying your channel Rex. You seem like a great guy, smart and a good driver. May I offer 1 comment? Some of the edits can be a little confusing. For example, at 18:43 you are standing on your trailer in Newark at sunrise getting ready to start your day, it immediately cuts to morning (the next morning?) several states away. Stay safe sir and thank you for taking us along with you.

Inedible is WAY less pumping, more drop and hooks

That was a really good video. It seems like you have to do a lot more on the food grade side than you did on the inedible. Yes people do drive that bad in New Jersey. Very hectic going into Newark and especially in the port area. Are you taking a break from the monsters? Do you think it’s a good time to join Prime on the tanker side or wait until April? Because of the availability of freight?
