Hogweed Shoots how fabulous I loved the way you cooked them and served them with the oyster sauce Pete and what an awesome stroll this is so great seeing you out and about!!!
Hi Reza. I just steamed the shoots for two minutes in water then added butter and tossed the shoots for another minute in the retiring heat of the pan. I dressed it simply with Thai oyster sauce in the Cantonese style. I love garlic but in this case it would detract from the delicate cardamom-like flavour of the hogweed shoots. I may try it in garlic butter though, cos I'm mad for garlic 😋
The hogweed looks like a cross between celery and broccoli rabe which I love both 😋
It is a great wild vegetable Carol, much better when lightly steamed to protect the asparagus-like texture 😋
@@LazyCookPete .... I like my asparagus almost in the ground Pete 😂
I cook it for about 20 seconds.
@@carolking8835 Yeah same, I like it with some texture 😋

I have tried them several ways now, but the lightly-steamed with oyster sauce is the best Patrick 😋
Here we gooooo!
They are great served in this simple Cantonese style with a good oyster sauce 😋
Very healthy and delious there Pete and a nice day to be out to and awesome video and keep up the awesome work
Thanks Roger mate!
Looks delicious 🌱🌿
It is a really nice wild vegetable mzbobi, I can't get enough of it when it is in season.
Great seeing and learning about these plants we don't have here in Australia.
There's lots of good bush tucker in Australia Daz. One of my great heroes was the Bush Tucker Man, I loved that show.
@@LazyCookPete I think a lot of it is on the big island and not so much here in Tassie but could be wrong
@@TasdazDownunder Tasmania is more temperate in climate so I would imagine it has its own unique wild edibles.
Good afternoon Pete, good to see you in this very nice post. Is that garlic that we cooked with?❤

Is the tall plant at 4:22 hemlock?
It is Sweet Cicely but it can easily be confused with Hemlock, which is of course deadly poisonous.
